One thing I always loved about this band is how in sync they were. Bradley is so soulful in his playing/singing and the band matches his energy so well its very fluid kind of like water. Like they’ve given him a canvas and allow him to just express himself through his power chords and shouts. When he ramps up the intensity they do too and when he speeds up they follow. I know all bands do this but there’s something about the way sublime does it it’s so special

When he was doing garden Grove and he sings the part. " Your a fool!! don't fuk around with my dog!"listen to that distortion pedal he kicks it on just for one second .. this guy was always on point we no matter what and freakin creative in improvising in the moment .;)

I love Sublime so fucking much. They are by far my favorite band. It's a shame that Bradley passed away but I seen em with Rome and they we're actually very good. I was so surprised cause I really didn't think that I'd be that amazed with the concert. I've seen many concerts and they were one of the best!

OK - So here is the legit story about the lyrics of Garden Grove as told to me by my Dad, who hung with these guys when they were only known locally. Basically, one of the dudes that was a friend of Brad's, knew a dude that had a house he was renting in Garden Grove with some others kids and he told Brad that they wanted to throw a sick house party and Sublime would play at it and do their songs and some reggae covers etc. But what happened was, instead of a bunch of cool hip, reggae-loving people showing up, a bunch of thugs, wannabe gangsters, rap idiots, and trash people showed up. Brad, Bud & Eric were playing in the living room and it sounded crappy and the vibe was terrible... One of the guys renting the place decided to start charging $5 at the door because so many unwanted people were showing up. This caused arguments etc. and people started throwing beer and crap around and in all the craziness, the police showed up and broke it all up. The next day, the guy who was renting the place called everyone and said his VCR and Microwave were gone and that he was pissed. My Dad also told me that he always thought that when the confusion was happening and the police were breaking it up, that Brad had taken the VCR & Micro and that definitely fits with the lyrics: I got the Microwave, got the VCR. Also, later in the song he talks about filling up his garage with all the stuff he had stolen. My Dad personally saw his garage and it was filled with a ton of odd crap. SO, there you go almost straight from the horse's mouth!!! RIP BRAD & LOU DOG!

Rational-Informed- American I liked that performance, but agreed, it was nothing like Hendrix. The way I settle who is my favorite guitarist is Hendrix is the #1 Live guitarist hands down, Van Halen is the #1 Studio guitarist. Off all the Hendrix videos I've seen, I've always saw him and his guitar were one entity (note how Hendrix tunes by ear while in the middle of a set). I can't see where Hendrix hit a wrong note, and he used perfect feedback to a tee. I have some older friends who saw Hendrix live and they weren't that impressed with him, but all the videos I have seen were very impressive. Hey if you want to see me do an original song on guitar on RU-vid, then type in Stephen Fiore - I Passed by the Tree We Used to Sit Under. Thanks Good Day--May God Bless You. Hendrix used great theatrics while playing also.

Sublime doesn't need to be listened when stoned. Although it does enhance, their irie vibe already sends a natural high.... I guess some people don't get it being fans since 2010 haha

VIRUSUCUNT I started listening to 40oz to Freedom at the beginning ages of my "Stoner-hood". The Stoner thing laster for about 5 years, smoking almost every day, and drinking a couple times every week. Experimenting with psychedelics many times, and admittedly, coke a few times. Throughout this period, 40oz became my well established favorite album ever. Even had the 40ox bumper sticker on the back right hand side of my 1991 Honda Accord (opposite the Grateful Dead: steal your face sticker on the right side). That's how I rolled. Sublime and the Dead. To this day, I listen to pretty much every type of music out there, and compete in music trivia every week at my local watering hole. Even TODAY, 40oz, is an easy top 3 album EVER, and arguably#1. I'll admit: The "Experience Hendrix: Best Of" album is also in the top 3....

keelanmanley I didn't catch it but I'm assuming he meant Mesa Boogie, a brand of guitar amps. Unexpected because Mesa wouldn't be a first choice with this type of music since Sublime was mostly clean reggae tones, but also explains why his distorted tones sounded so great.

Ken Caminiti no, bc many of his lyrics in his song had to do with him fighting his addiction with , or using Heroin. Ex. Garden grove- sticking needles in my my arm" pool shark got that needle and I can't breathe, take it away and I want more and more, one day I'm gonna lose the war.
