@Ruthie Bella No, they aren't. Samsung does a lot of things and allows you to do a lot. It may be a inconvinence that you have to get a app for your own theme, but that is something apple and ios doesn't have. You can make your own programs to customize your phone.
@Ruthie Bella lol, if you're just wanting to use a family picture as a bg, you don't need a theme editor to do it. Not to mention, there are plenty apps where you can create your own theme. Samsung even has their own app for personal use called Theme Park.
How can I submit a portfolio and themes without getting the theme editor first? Is there an alternative for making a theme or do you just want a photoshop design? I'm just confused.
Please see this article for information on how you can submit your designs. program.developer.samsung.com/2018/12/07/how-to-submit-a-samsung-theme-portfolio/
I already submitted the portfolio for review and got the permit with the theme editor software. But when I want to upload the theme I made, the theme button option doesnt appear in the "Add new Application" section. Do I need another certificate or permit to upload a theme? Even if Im already "samsung approved " with the editor?
Applicants are required to submit a complete theme design when applying for access to the Themes Studio tool. Applicants cannot apply for only wallpapers. If an applicant is approved, they can then choose to publish themes, wallpapers, icons or AOD packages.
At around 5.00 you mention a link that is provided to us. Where is it? Nothing in description. If anyone has this please link it in the comments. Thank you
How do I earn money making new wallpapers? I have no information about it. Some wallpapers has a charge so what I want to know is ... is part of this charging returned to me? Tks!
To sell wallpapers, you must first apply to become a themes designer. You can learn how by watching this video, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pUSfZ4mkux4.html You can learn more about selling on Galaxy Store here, developer.samsung.com/galaxy-store.
At minute 13, you state that the submission has to include a full theme. Does that mean that we need to create our own Icons from scratch or can we just augment the icons that come with the template to match our designs?
Yes, a Photoshop design is first required. Instructions and a link to download the Photoshop Theme Template file is included in this “How to Submit” article, program.developer.samsung.com/2018/12/07/how-to-submit-a-samsung-theme-portfolio/. Icons must be completely customized to make it blend well with the overall theme UI/portfolio and if needed from design standpoint, we recommend you design them from scratch. Once you become approved, you can then download the Theme Editor software.
How do we get the templates for our portfolios... so we can create our themes? Like for example... the notification screen. Do we have to recreate that screen, or is there a template?
I highly recommend you read this blog program.developer.samsung.com/2018/12/07/how-to-submit-a-samsung-theme-portfolio/ it has Photoshop and PDF templates you can download. Ron from Samsung Developer Program
I would like to design themes for Samsung and I have signed up with a samsung account but I cant get to the part where I create 3 themes and submit them. Can someone help me with this?
Hi Kendale, I’m a Sr. Developer Evangelist with the Samsung Developer Program and would be happy to help. First let me mention that it is best to download the Photoshop Reference Template to help create the "portfolio" designs you will submit. You don't have to submit 3 different themes, just the 6 required screens of your one theme design, all designed within Photoshop. First, go to developer.samsung.com and log into your account by clicking the "Log In" link at the top of the page. Then, go to developer.samsung.com/theme and scroll towards the bottom of the page. Click the link just below "Request Process" to view the Process & FAQ. In the FAQ section there will be a link to download the Reference Template as a response to the question, "What can I submit as my portfolio?" Once you are done with designing the 6 required screens of your theme design, save the files as one ZIP to easily submit them. Scroll back to the top of the page and click the "Get Access" button. This button will only appear when the Theme Partnership window is open. The window opens on the third Wednesday of every odd month and remains open for two weeks. Keep in mind the date is based on the current time in South Korea, so it is best to submit at least one day before the window closes. After clicking the "Get Access" button, the Theme Service Partnership Request page will load. Here you will fill out some basic information and upload the ZIP file of your theme design. You do also have the option of including a link to your designs if you would rather not attach a file. Hope this helps. If you need further assistance you can email support@samsungdevelopers.com.
Applications are currently open until 10/3 via: developer.samsung.com/theme. If you continue to have access issues, please file a ticket via program.developer.samsung.com/dashboard/support-requests
@@axeirbuzz8591 Thank You for the reply. How do I download the Photoshop Reference Template and how do I add a image to the screens then save them so I can submit them and am I able to do this from my cellphone or does it have to be on a laptop?
We have information about using Theme Store badges developer.samsung.com/resources/gsb-promotion but i don't see any direct information on self promotion and monetization. There will be a session on how to be a successful designer at the Samsung Developer Conference 2019. Once that is held at the end of October the sessions will be posted on RU-vid. Wait, is this official by Samsung? The voice recording equipment sounds horrible and the speaker is talking like thats his first ever made tutorial. If this is official please search a small youtuber who deserves to get paid for qualitative videos.
Saludos.
