I did in fact have to go and quickly level red mage for a single stupid clip because I forgot about Magick Barrier and I also deliberated excluded White Mage because I didn't want 3 healers in my amazing, super cool team composition.

hi, maya here again for the post release patch notes slight wording issue seraphs passive heal is single target but consolation (the skill u can use when seraph is summoned is aoe), chair skipped straight to consolation when explaining hence why he said seraph does aoe healing "but physis doe" he and i forgot altho in my case its cus im not sure if illu and physis stack or not, in his case he just forgor 💀 also not rly a correction ir whatever but since he didnt mention it : expedient is the same speed as sprint and will overlap with it so dont try to use sprint to go DOUBLE fast lol now lets get out there and complain about how they took fey wind away from us :madge:

physis and illumination do stack! all of the two forms of healing boosts stack in this game, but "increases healing magic potency" buffs are limited to GCDs and increase the caster's healing, while "HP recovery via healing actions" buffs work with both oGCDs and GCDs, and increase the player's received healing. their limitation is by action type and given/received healing - of course, identical buffs still don't stack. the fountain of fire buff stacks too, but is unique in its function and works with both oGCDs and GCDs, it increases all of the caster's outgoing healing, even working with Seraph and Earthly Star

@@aeyasera1 reason i wasnt sure is cus i didnt level sage yet but just knew that there was some mutually exclusive interactions with kerachole and something else so i didnt wanna jump the gun and take a wild guess for physis cus this game is rly fucking weird with wording sometimes, the rest i knew tho reason he used fof footage was cus he cba to find people to actually make the big shield lol (altho he couldve asked me :madge:)

@@JulieLamia ya he didnt mention it being an af move he just put it arnd af cus it was in the "dungeon healing" section, maybe we shouldve moved it somewhere else in the script cus i also thought it was slightly weird to put it arnd there but i already made him move aetherflow to be at the start of the script so i guess its fine

@@neirusalwa I think it's more they give the max move speed. Sprint gives the max of 30% and you can't go higher than that unmounted. It also doesn't stack with Ninja's passive, for example.

Going fast is great, the faster the dps can run, the faster we can reset the fight to prog again after they inevitably greed a mechanic and all die in unison.

@@alphawolfnami SCH's Art of War and SGE's Dyskrasia do more damage on two targets than using their single target - which isn't true for ALL jobs, but you'd think people would be able to do basic math by simply reading potency counts on tool tips.

14:16 you forgot the most important part. Enter unsynced into an ARR raid (coil is alright) to get the 300% epic echo. Cast your mega shield and leave the instance instantly. Now your shield is worth several hundreds of thousands of hp.

As someone who isn't the best player (average at best), I have been saved by a Scholar's Expedient in every, single, run of an extreme this expansion. Because the best healing is the healing that doesn't need to happen because you were able to avoid the attack in the first place.

If you ever have a sage cohealer in duty finder content, be sure to waste all your resources on the big shield! They will definitely not spam eukrasian prognosis and overwrite your big shield with tiny ones and make you sad :(

Also fun fact, while sch shield does not stack with sge shields, the extra shield from crits will stack with eachother, so the most massive shield will also include Crit Eukrasian Diagnosis and Crit Adloquium for Differential Diagnosis + Catalyzed

If you wanna impress your party with some madlad strats start your rotation with dissipation instead of aetherflow. After you've blasted away your energy drains press aetherflow. Such mana value, wow.

At level 80 content when you have the button that just gives you a crit aetherflow skill you can use most of the aether from the second stack too! (leave one just to be safe)

Especially in easier content like dungeons, you can make the whole party take 0 damage whereas if the healer is a whm or ast, we would've all taken 30% of our max hp.

Also - remember to summon your fairy AFTER you eat food. Fairy snapshots your stats!

@@Kekira it’s not a long-lasting boost. The fairy re-snapshots every time it’s summoned/dismissed. So summon seraph/dissipation will re-snapshot once they wear off. But it’s a nice boost if you don’t plan on using summon seraph/eat the fairy 🧚‍♀️

Also if you want a bigger shield, summon Seraph, wait till 8 seconds left before using Fey Illumination, followed by your Seraph AoE, pot, recitation, pro, eat fairy, Adlo, Deployment. Assuming you have a food buff that is

we were doing fat shields in TEA (we were focusing LL and shielding through Hand of Pain). I would minne the scholar, we would also have the dancer snapshot improv, scholar would shield, astro would neutral shield, toss shield samba, caster mitig, and the pld shield and we were with shields greater than our health bars every pull only to drop to a shrivel of hp right after. dps check was tight and somewhat rng dependant because double physical ranged but overall, we were just passing it.

The fact everyone thought that Expedient was going to be a joke is hilarious to me. Try telling a WoW veteran that a class in FFXIV got Stampeding Roar, except it lasts 20 seconds and gives a 10% damage reduction. They'd think the devs are out of their minds. The only thing that keeps it in balance is that every boss encounter in ff14 takes place in a circle or square arena, so there's less room to abuse how busted it actually could potentially be with different fight mechanics that take up a larger arena.

Since i didn't see it get mentioned to my knowledge if you use deployment tactics on a crit shield while you may not pass catalyze to your party, the galvanize that they get is better than a normal galvanize. That's probably why they made both deployment tactics and recitation cds 90 secs so you can use them both together for extra shields

You forgot Warrior's Shake it Off. It does consume Thrill of Battle if activated afterwards but you can use it before it to avoid that.

Expedient is such a Chaotic Good skill and I love it, my favorite thing to do is to use it just as a forced march is coming out when my party is annoying me so they over shoot and touch death walls, or not avoid the mech. I've always mained AST, but SCH has always been my 2nd fav healer, most the changes may have been QoL, but those QoL changes were so freaking good. The fairy being more responsive and Selene following you after a boss even if you forget to Heel so you don't have to resummon alone were such freaking good changes just by themselves. I love SCH but have also been memeing on it for a while, and it's nice for that to have changed lol

To continue with giga shields sage's haima skills and seraph's consolation are seperate from catalyst, while sage can't stack eukdiagnosis with adlo the crit buff(differential diagnosis or w/e) does so you can do the most inefficient time waste possible of sage fishing for crits with eukdia, then scholar recitation adlo, all the prior shields you mentioned + haima + painhaima(yes they stack) and now I'm not sure if consolation shield would amount to more than fairy eat + adlo or not but do whatever added up to the most

Thank you for this. I have been maining AST since Heavensward released (I took a big break in between), just picked up SCH for fun and it's like I've never healed a day in my life. The difference between shield and regen is intense. Also I accidentally started by favoring Physick as my main healing spam...

As i know, Seraph or the fairy get back from seraph effect is end, will stay at where you place it. Only when it return from dissipation would follow you, and need to place it again. 10:24 Did someone accidentally bump into death wall because of the Expedient?

I think you can actually get a bigger shield than that if you add a gunbreaker and use hoc while under the effect of brutal shell. That's a very slight increase though, ultimately insignificant but necessary for the biggest shield possible.

Shields are specially good when the MT died and the off tank was not paying attention, so the DPS that was dealing the better job gets a tank buster. Without the shield the DPS will die to no fault of his own.

As a sch main, I can honestly say there are times when that big shield combo can save a whm from needing to use their naturally bigger aoe heals. Sewage Deluge being a prime example. Always take a sch with you into P2S cause Sage shields aren't anywhere near as thick.

If you place fairy on a location, summoning Sereph will not reset its placement. Only Dissipation reset placement

Dissipation needs a rework, Its needs to infuse us with temporary fairy powers, imagine being smol with wings or floating with wings while its active. PLEASE!
