I would just like to say these short format videos are MOST appreciated! I understand the argument for longer videos as well, but as someone new to synthesis these videos are a great foundation to basics and presented in nice easy to digest chunks. Thank you, Moog. I am loving (and still learning) my Subsequent.
I had been trying this ages back with my Sub 37 but gave up on it as I couldn't get proper tracking, only now realizing it's cos I thought the tracking dial had to be full clockwise. Should have read the manual properly. Thanks!
Amazing ! Is there anyway you could create a synth bass sound series ? Maybe showcasing some classic synth bass from old school to some newer styles ? I always wanted to get a close synth bass sound of Bruno mars 24k or Chunky but I only get a close approximation for the sound . Would be really helpful !
Hi! I have a question... when I use a sine wave on my subsequent I need to tune correctly every time by cut off ? Changing cut off position change also the note tune...
Keep an oscillator on and with the note held tune the filter cutoff to the oscillator pitch. With the 1:1 tracking the filter will follow that pitch from then on.
Imagine the filter as being less open with the lower notes you play and then the higher the note is when you play, the filter will open up. The more KB tracking you put into it, the wider the spectrum across the keyboard that affects the filter.
Strangely enough, i will try to use this to test my hearing, I have a hunch that the highest frequency RU-vid is capable of is 17,800Hz which is as high as i can hear on YT vids. Will update post with results...
_[results]_ RU-vid matches about what i can hear using a moog sine wave on the subsequent37. i used audio technica ATH-M50x which has a 28,000Hz max. frequency response. and it was about the same although i think the moog was capable of a higher volume. my hearing dropped out at about a 17,800Hz sine wave. And my ears are still ringing from this extensive test😖_[edit]_ the moog can produce a higher sound by far....i just cant hear it...😐
Actually no it still doesn't track properly, you can't play a scale and have it in tune across the keyboard with the filter making it kind of useless. Unless you have any tips on what I'm doing wrong?
