yes! please do a whole series for us sub37/seq owners. the more detailed the better. had a bit of a time figuring out how you setup vibrato (lfo2) on just those last 4 steps, then realized you must have first (before the video started) gone into the mod2 ctrl and turned on MODWHEEL. so many steps! but we love you guys for your depth ;) if you could do a whole video just on the mod control menus i'd kiss ya

This was way more helpful than the manual and other updates. I didn't even know the Sequencer menus were hidden under the preset button...

This is so incredibly helpful! I've watched it multiple times over the past couple of months but still didn't remember all of these features. I just re-watched it b/c I couldn't remember if it's possible to record a "realtime" pattern (i.e. device automatically applying ties, rests, note div, etc based on how you played the pattern initially, a la Arturia's and Elektron's sequencers). Didn't get any good news on that front, but was reminded about the mod wheel-based parameter locking, ratcheting, and re-defining the start and end steps. Heck, I couldn't even for the life of me remember how to access the sequencer settings page to add swing! Liking and adding to favorites isn't enough, I need to set this video as my browser homepage until all of these features are seared into my memory! Also, if these are the "Sequencer Basics", I'm dying to hear about the advanced sequencing options!

Thank you for this video. I've been using the sequencer but just in the basic way. I wasn't using the menu to get the swing that I wanted or the modulation. That is a game changer for me at least. Please do more tutorials on this channel for the Sub37. Designing your own sounds, using the envelopes, the filters, modulation. I am sure that this will help beginners and experienced alike

Great tutorial. All this is certainly also in the user's manual but this video is far more efficient to get the "will to try". Thank you. I would suggest a detailed video on MIDI menus and usage. I would be especially interested in the CTRL4 used as a modulation source and how to sync SUB37 with external gears or iOS tools.

moog should incorporate step by step parameter change for all parameters, like Elektron does. This would be amazing, just having mod wheel movement is kind of limited

Hey I’m not able to modulate every step with my modwheel like explain in the last ast few minutes of this video... I followed every steps (watched it multiple times) but I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong... The Sequenzer is just playing the position of the modwheel (it won’t remember the step I tried to set it to..) What am I doing wrong? :/

Great tutorial, one remaining question. Can I have different ratchet counts in one sequence for instance in a 8 step sequence a 2 ratchet count on step 2 and a 3 ratchet count on step 6?

when you are in step editing mode after pressing bank + step you want to edit and jump to another step you don't need to keep pressing bank again (at least with the newest update)

failure here. can't even get this medium to start a sequence in record, as the record knob is adjusted to rec, and rest is turned on, but immediately touching the key, the rest light goes off...tried several different presets..

Any chance that Moog can produce some "Moog for dummies" videos? A good place (for me) to start would be: "Here's the Subsequent 37, and here's how you set it up to sound like the solo in xyz"

is there a way of just 'jamming out' basslines, i.e like playing along with a drum machine, the maunal editing of each note doesnt seem the most musical way, if i want to play a bass line i basically have to work out the ties rhythms etc before i input otherwise

I recorded an arp/knob tweak track with my Subsequent and now for post production sake I need to know the exact BPM the subsequent was running at. Is there no way to get the exact BPM value that the Arpeggiator knob is set to? (I still have the knob set in exactly the same place.. playing the same sequence lol).

What happens when I have a recorded sequence, I play it with latch and then put it in rec and play something on top?

I just changed my 16 step sequence to 32 steps. How do i copy the notes of the first 16 steps to the next 16?

This was a great tutorial, thank you! I was playing with adjusting the start & end points for the sequence, and ended up with a question that maybe you could answer? I had made a 32-step sequence, which was playing back, and while it was on Page 2 of the sequence, I set the start point to Step 9 of the displayed sequence (Page 2/Step 9 or Step 24...), so that it played only the last 8 steps of the 32-step sequence.That was great. But then I realized, I had no idea how to get back to the full sequence! So my question is, how do you switch the view back to Page 1, in order to set the starting note back to Step 1? Thanks in advance!

hey there. around 10 mins, u explain about the modwheel and the sequencer. i can follow, but not clear how to assign the modwheel to for example cutoff. where do i do that? i set the mod bus 1 and 2 to SEQMOD and than? the video doesnt show.

Can I record a sequence & play over that sequence using a different preset? Example: Run a baseline sequence then record & play over that recorded sequence while being able to tweak both baseline & additional keys over said sequence.

Hi, so, my moog can't remember the mod wheel position per step when editing a sequence as you've explained. I've watched the video several times and checked the instructions manual, but nothing works. After following these steps, the mod wheel doesn't function as a bipolar control. Any help?

This does NOT work on my Sub 37. Pressing both buttons simultaneously does not activate step sequence mode.

For some reason my lights don't light up whenever I do a sequence is there something wrong with synth or am I missing something?

I could not make steps change Mod with the mod wheel. You were a bit hasty on that, sry.

Great video and explanation, but Moog... you have to know that the step sequencer is nowhere near intuitive. Thank god you released a software editor for this instrument, as the interface is way too much of a compromise.
