I watched this movie growing up, and I still love it. I remember that the bed in my grandmother's spare room had a bedknob that could be easily removed. I would twist it and let my imagination run wild as I imagined what places I would visit. I know that this movie is from the '70s, but it saddens me that none of my friends watched this movie growing up (we were all born in the late eighties/early nineties).
I don't think there's any real need to weep for her. She had a very long and successful life I'm sure she was quite happily set with everything she accomplished and none of us live forever, that would become boring. I think she should be celebrated but I don't think there's any reason to feel bad for her
Definitely one of my favorite childhood movies. My 2nd grade elementary school teacher showed this in Class. My grandmother also had several beds like that & was a fan of Murder she wrote. RIP Angela Lansbury 🙏💐💐
This is the first movie I remember going to. I was about 3 years old and my mom took me and my older brother to see it. About the only part of it I remember was the flying bed, but that was enough to enchant me for life. Being older, of course, I am now able to appreciate the amazingly talented and beautiful Angela Lansbury and the (for then) state of the art special effects. (Even my teenage son is impressed.)
Professor Brown is the same guy who played Mr Banks in Mary Poppins. The contrast between the two characters is very interesting to me. In Mary Poppins he played a no-nonsense banker who did not have time for his children. In this movie the guy is all fun.
No, it was only original special effects from Walt Disney Studios with props and wires that would make like magic spells which bring these objects to life by saying magic words.
Why isn't this film more famous than it is? I even like it more than "Mary Popppins", which is a little too sugary for me. This song plus the end sequence where the knights defeat the Germans are among the best scenes ever in Disney. And Lansbury and Tomlinson are simply wonderful!
times were changing, ahead of disney. alas... music, wholesome fantasy, wars, were from the past. newer generations werent as interested. i believe this film was made before "beauty and the beast." disneys revival and renewal.
I loved Miss Price as a child! I used to paint pictures of her. I also used to put my arms up the way she did when she started this song and have my dad guess which character I was being.
Tonight July 30th, 2016- Saturday... I watched the Movie "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" for the very 1st time and I am 16 Year's Old. I never heard about this Movie ever but when I was watching the Special-Features on the Movie "Pete's Dragon" 1977 Movie of how the made the Movie on July 28th, 2016- Thursday for the first time... While watching the Special-Features it showed Different Movies that had Live-Action and Animation and the Movie "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" was one of them and me Older Sister said "Oh! We should "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" this weekend!" and I thought to meself "What is that??? I never heard about that Movie..."... But me watching that Movie is was SOOO good and amazing! 😍😍😍💜💜💜 I loved everything about it including the "Portobello Road", Underwater Song, and Spell Dancing Clothes Song! 😍😍😍🙌🙌🙌 The "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" Movie is one of me favourite Disney Movies now! 👏👏👏
I watched this movie growing up and I love it! It was not from my generation it was shown to me by my grandparents. :) Another good movie from that time is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!
Absolutely brilliant this Disney film loved it as a child and still love it now love the bit when miss price aka angea says number 8 one of my favourite movies of all time
3:50: Miss Eglantine Price (Angela Lansbury): Mr Browne, will you please control your shoes? Mr Professor Emelius Browne (David Tomlinson): Dear lady, I very much fear that we have nothing under control.
"Mr. Brown, will you please control your shoes?" *"DEAR LADY, I VERY MUCH FEAR THAT WE HAVE NOTHING UNDER CONTROL!!"* ROFL David Tomlinson is absolutely hilarious.
I was enjoying this video until my evil mind just told me that cat is now long dead. When I watched this as a kid those thoughts never even crossed my mind. Oh, the joys of being 18 :(
I have always thought Ms. Lansbury under-rated in the UK, and had the absolute pleasure of working on a show with Mr. Tomlinson. I am actually tempted to travel across the Allantic especially to see her as Mme Armfeld.
They really need to make this into a Broadway play and have Angela play Miss Price again because this is the best Disney movie there ever was or will be.
