How you gone watering new lawn needs two weeks to get roots
@alcambero
@alcambero 2 месяца назад
Good morning, and a great question, Alfredo. I use two products to help accelerate the growth process of the roots. I use a product called SeaExtra and another product called Hydretain in a combination application. SeaExtra is a nutritional supplement / sea weed extract that optimizes natural root development and stress tolerance. The organic content also improves nutrient availability. Hydretain is a blend of organic derivatives that attracts water molecues and stores moisture as microscopic droplets on the plant roots and soil particle surfaces. This process helps reduce the evaporation of applied water and provides better useage of all available water in the soil, thus keeping the plant hydrated. I use both in a combo when we install new trees, turf, and shrubs. etc... You can learn more about both products at the corporate website : www.ecologel.com. You can receive a discount on ordering the product directly from the manufacturer by visiting my website : www.uneekenvironments.com and clicking on the Hydretain banner at the bottom of my home page. I hope this helps in answering your question, and thank you for taking your time out to view my videos and send in your questions and comments. Much appreciated...🤠🙏

The SeaExtra and Hydretain applications are done with a water hose Alfedo and the sub - surface drip irrigation system is set up to run an average of 30 minutes to one hour a couple times a week depending on the soil absorption rate ( sandy soil vs a more clay or loam soil ) and we have it set on a HydroRain Bhyve Wi-Fi controller system ( www.hydrorain.com )to be able to monitor the watering frequency and amount of water actually applied.

How many zones did you end up using?
@alcambero
@alcambero 5 лет назад
Monsoon, Good morning and my apologies for the delay in getting back with you. I used three zones due to the different micro-climates . One valve in the shady rear section, one valve in the mid-yard zone, and one valve for the full sun area. I hope this helps answer your question even though it's so late a response back. Thank-you for viewing my videos and please let me know your suggestions and comments, they are much appreciated. Ed

Anyone know how reliable this Rain Bird QF Header is long term and what the max psi and water flow rate is? Can a T be fitted to each connection point? Thanks.

Thanks for the question. The best place to get this information us from the manufacturer... Rainbird. Individual contractor answers may vary. Manufacturer claims have to be pretty much spot on. Thanks for checking out my videos and leaving a comment. Be sure to subscribe, please, for more videos and adventures with Ed Wallace and Midwest Landscaping...🤠

@@alcamberowouldn’t asking rain bird if it’s reliable long term, be like asking the Ford Dealer back in the day if the Ford Pinto is a safe car to buy? Of course they’d say yes. I figured if you installed this 6 years ago and likely more than just this, then you might know if any customer had problems with it and had to scrap it and go back to PVC. But maybe your video is a promotional video for Rain Bird so you would just rather not say anything bad, so now I don’t know who to believe. :)

@wstt4 Well, that video was no promo video. I install Hunter, Netafim, and Rainbird inline dripline depending on the job, clients budget, and site conditions. I have never received any calls back from the client concerning any installation or operational issues. The questions you ask are technical questions that are not push and play answers as each jobsite, irrigation pressure availability, layout design, soil infiltration rate and other factors that should be taken into consideration and factored in. The system was not cheap to put in, and I could not afford to tear up the lawn and replace the irrigation and turf of it was installed incorrectly or just put in home owner DIY style. It sounds like it would be best to stick with PVC and popups as the technical aspects of this type of professionally installed system may not be for you.

Yes. You’re right the technical stuff is for rain bird to answer. Thanks for this video. At the end of the video you said you learned from this. What was it that you learned? That 12” is better than 18” here? Or that the Rain Bird Emitter Header was better than doing PVC with many connections to glue and attach? Would you recommend that Rain Bird header long term, above ground for ground cover? Thanks so much for your responses.

what is the name of the tubing ?
@alcambero

Petra, Thank-you for checking out my videos and stay tuned for more cool tips and ideas n landscaping. The drip tubing I used in this installation is called Rainbird 'Copper Shield Technology also the for the drip line header board is also Rainbird technology. You can locate both products online at www.rainbird.com. As for the PVC side of the installation, I used the HydroRain PVCLock fittings to assemble a header manifold such as the one made by the Rainbird corp. You can locate HydroRain products at: www.hydrorain.com. I did both because we wanted to check the water distribution uniformity. * The results came out pretty close the same using the Rainbird header vs my personally built custom one... Hope this helps, Ed
