You may recognise the initial build up melody which featured in Tiesto - Nyana some years later, but this remix from Dennis WR is outstanding and still blows my mind with each listen. The way the main lead just opens right up without warning gets me every time. Stunning.

The problem with contemporary trance is that it doesn't let individual sounds breathe and say their story individually and in unison. It sounds cramped and doesn't evoke the feelings for which trance is known for. It sounds all over the place. Its focus has shifted to sound epic. It is in a hurry to make an impact and doesn't want pauses, silence and breaks in a track which results in the track sounding too busy. It doesn't allow for even a tiny bit of empty space and if it does so it is for creating anticipation for that "epic" sound. Such a track doesn't engage you deeply and lacks a particular appeal.
@@Eyeballpaul84 these day anyone with a laptop can literally throw something together and make it big. I feel the passion is gone! My generation were so lucky to live through the nineties and early 00’s we had a lot of great music

I've often wondered how many of these remixes were Tij, and how many were really his engineer Benno. Over the years I've seen Armin play piano while composing. Ive Seen Ferry do it all the time, and PVD actually plays live. But I've never seen Tiesto play. Not once in 25+ years.

Ah, love late '90s tiesto! Didn't he also also do stuff under the alias Allure? I remember a track he did called "Rejected" was really good also, from around this time.
@@scsour8109 yeah, though so.. After this I went and pulled out my Trance Unlimited compilation disc, where I first heard that tune, and there it is listed as track 4 "Rejected" as DJ Tiesto/Allure. Such a sweet track!

Wow thanks for posting! Totally forgot about this gem, it sounded familiar - I think it was towards the end of a mixtape I once had that I fondly remembered. Can’t for the life of me remember which DJ Mix it was on though?! Maybe one from a magazine more than an essential mix as I can’t find any listings as yet. I honestly don't blame Tijs for leaving. He jumped ship when Trance was on a massive decline and whatever we think of the direction he took, he's earned himself a shit load of £££ which most of us can only dream of. Fair play.

Ive no problem with it either but still to go from a top trance producer to what hes at now ! , no idea what more he could have made in dance music ,im sure hed have banged out a few more., he is in the " lethal industry " now i suppose, told what to do and make
@@jorian2212 His ghost producers didn't leave with him though, so there was nothing to stop Dennis WR, Geert Huinink and so on from continuing to make Trance which some of them did :)
@@noahliasam7407 EDM killed so much good electronic music and then imploded on itself. I literally went to London just before the global issues in early 2020 and not a single place I went to during my two week stay had ANY electronic music on. Not trance, not EDM. Just pop music...
