Same here, I was around 14 at the time I heard this for the first time while racing around the second island of liberty city in my banshee. I can still picture the fog rolling in. Ahhhh the memories. 👍👍
@@AXELVISSERSI would say 1999 has the most quality trance tracks but the 90's trance has more of an innovative sound with more intense beat. The early 2000's is when it started to go down in quality very quickly. I still love this song from Warp Brothers- Distorted Reality (2003).
Although 'Score' is my personal favourite from Slyder, I do really enjoy 'Neo (The One)' too 😊 As many will know, both of these tracks featured in Grand Theft Auto III on the awesome Rise FM channel along with another of theirs 'Innerbattle' under their R.R.D.S. alias.
That track just screams for freedom! I doubt anyone can listen to it while in a confined space. It causes them to want to break the walls that surrounds them.
I remember when I bought GTA 3 with my mates back in 2002 and as soon as I turned the radio on for the first time, Rise FM was on with the score, followed by this one... We couldn't stop listening to them! Honestly still the best songs the be on any GTA.
It's true, I've old enough that I was playing GTA and pretending to be raving in my room because I was so young, to actually going to raves, and then retiring from them in all that time!

You are the one You are the one You'll never be alone again You're more then in my head, my head - your more You are the one You are the one You'll never be alone again You're more then in my head You'll never be alone again You're more then in my head, my head - your more
I first heard this song when I was two (2!!!) years old, watching my dad play GTA 3 on an old Dell tower. For anyone that wants to feel old out there, I turned 22 last week.
I bought the game in 2002 when I was 8. I just got a PS2 and couldn't believe how real the graphics looked coming from the N64. I still remember that moment. I was mind blown.
I was only 3 years old by the time GTA 3 came out in late 2001. I think I may have heard a trance song around that age but never paid attention to how cool it sounded. Man, I guess the late 90’s and early 2000’s were such a cool time to be alive, with trance music taking the scene and everything as it was the dawn of a new millennium. Only downside to that was the 9/11 attacks taking place, as that terrible tragedy and the long-lasting war that followed soon after pretty much killed the mood. That horrific event was a terrible way to start off a new century, and a new millennium as a whole. Still though…
What absolutely blows my mind is that these guys eventually formed "Shiny Toy Guns" The vocal sample in this track came out something like 5 years before it did in the STG song!
Their Original Song "Slyder - Neo (The One)" is in GTA 3 and their version with the Shiny Toy Guns Band "Shiny Toy Guns - You Are the One" is in FIFA 07 ;) Gaming Kids from the 2000 era are knowing this classic songs ;)
This tune along with score made me fall in love with trance back in the day. Every now and then I come to revisit these masterpieces which will remain unreached for me, because todays trance is so much different. Thanks slyder and rockstar Games.
Fun Fact: Jeremy Dawson & Chad Petree of Slyder (aka Cloud2Ground) came up with the concept of this song back in 2000. They disbanded the group to form another (The Shiny Toy Guns) with frontwoman Carah Faye Charnow in 2002. They remade the song, naming it "You Are The One" in 2006.
