Ditto. But it's far worse now. It's SOOOOO crowded. I went back for my high school reunion. Couldn't wait to get back to Missouri (ironic, being that when I lived there, we just rolled our eyes at people who lived in the Midwest. Now, you literally couldn't pay me to live out there). But I'm glad I lived there back then, otherwise I never would have been exposed to all the great bands that came out of So Cal -- and there wasn't satellite radio/TV or the internet, so I wouldn't hear it here for sure.
@@mokfive6112Vex was the bassist and singer, lead guitarist John Gleur (John McBurney) I used to work with his brother and he made me cassette tapes of all of their albums.
Man they played with the Plimsouls at CSULB. Early 80s. Maybe 21 still had some beers at the student center memories keep coming back hearing these bands..
The 49er Tavern on Friday and Saturday nights, IIRC. I was there for many a show. Cheap admission, cheap beers, what more did you need as a poor student?
Besides the abysmal management of Jeane Doumanian, was a lost chance that SNL didn't follow that new wave path, with bands like this one or the Vicki (the valley girl) skits, more in sync with an audience younger. On the other hand, they found Eddie Murphy, and that was great
Lorne Michaels has always sucked and swallowed. SNL was curiously entertaining in Junior High and High School in the mid/late '80s, but otherwise awful overall.
@@THEshaggyrogers thanks! I haven't watch that video even though is one of his most popular uploads. it's great to see people searching for them; they're underrated!
This is the first song anyone stole from me. It was originally called "Ragin' Paige Batemon!" I have enough witnesses and lawyers for MTV and CBS to fuck off when I play it on my channel. I was a tadpole then. Froggy as frik these days. Hearty fuck yous to the rest of youse. Natalie, Cramps, Belinda, Suicidal Thievery, Au Pairs, Jack off Jill, and the rest.
