honestly my favorite lil interaction in this episode between the people at the table: Murph:*asks to summon 4 monsters with a challenge rating of 1/2* Brennan: Murph you're my best friend. Murph: Great!! :D Brennan: you know why? Murph: Why? Brennan: *beefy boys* Murph: Yeaaaaaa!!!!!!

I’ve never felt more betrayed than when Brennan was being cute and doing all the 2006 peace sign hand waves and saying “gonna kill that dog” then turned around and said the dog’s hit point max was reduced to 2 with a totally serious face.

i love that this entire fight is reliant on the joke that the new york subway schedule makes no fucking sense.

Is it only me that loves when Brennan does the rat swarm's lines? I dunno, it is quite adorable.

Ricky just lives his life quietly, he doesn't even care that he just fought a bunch of crooked cops and then got up on a magic train that took him to the dream realm, he's just worried of people knowing that esther is his crush

I have to say, using spell slots to aid a ritual even in the middle of a climactic fight is a good trick for a DM with too many casters

Man, summoning the train is on the same tier of summoning police to the prom difficulty wise

before watching dimension 20 i never really understood the appeal of dnd, but now i’ve kind of made the realization that, within the rules, you can basically do whatever. you build the story as you play it, and you do that by just doing cool shit. this probably doesn’t make sense. regardless, i now think dnd is the coolest shit.

I like that pizza rat actually lands an 8, and it's Pete's roll knocking into it that causes it to spiral into a 20. More wild magic.

To this day I’m deeply relieved the alligator with broadway dreams made up with Misty.

I honestly loved that interaction leading up to Eponas betrayal. And, the way Lou delivered the "Epona, what are you doing here?" was perfect

This was basically the most stressful escort mission ever. Had to protect a baby, a dog and an old man complaining about subway schedules

Although they have fallen, they are the strongest of all the rats, rest in peace brothers

Brennan's delivery of "This guy is so fucked up, just by rats! He's badly hurt by rats!" absolutely killed me.

The amount of enemies that got ended by rats is amazing. Also, support public transportation infrastructure improvements.

So is no one gonna adress that Kug's rat swarms have more HP than Ox without the juicy cockroach

Brennan saying “I’m gonna kill that dog” then proceeding to make obscene hand gestures is just everything

The last shot of Kugrash putting a paw on the window was incredible, I'm guessing that they film those little details in post but it's always a nice touch.

I gotta say, my favorite part of this episode has got to be the visual of New York itself protecting and helping Kingston. Imagine trying to punch someone, only for reality to stretch infinitely around you. And then add everything snaps back into place, they just dead-eye state you down and just say "Run" Kingston is one of the scariest mfers ever

I gotta say, props to Brennan for how he's been handling how the wild magic surges sometimes mess with his plans. You could tell from last episode he was planning on having the brawl in the club with the vampires but once the wild magic did teleport and he brought them to the subway he was like "alright, I guess we'll figure this out" and then Siobahn reminded him about the L train exit in Nod and you could see the spark on his face like "Oh my god that gives me such an idea!" leading to this very unique encounter. Bravo good sir!

I know it felt like forever for Alejandro to summon the train but each round of combat is only 6 seconds so it was actually only like 36 seconds.

Love how he can just say random animals like penguins and bears and Brennon just pulls out a little figure because he has “Batman with prep time” levels of preparation

"Murph, you're my BEST friend" is such a wholesome line from Brennan and I absolutely love it

So I don’t think anyone has commented this yet, but did no one else see that the nat 20 pizza rat roll that summoned the train was originally an 8 until a red die clipped it and knocked it to a 20? God bless whoever threw the red die!

The fact that Rickys biggest secrets are that that he went to high school and became a firefighter and that he has a crush is just the purest thing.

I just love whenever Kugrash summons something, he just does it it the most nonchalant way.

Dimension 20 has EASILY the best combat out of all of the D&D podcasts I watch, because even the smallest fight feels important to the story rather than just being something boring to fill up an hour. Combat is always cinematic and has plenty of roleplay mixed in, which makes it very engaging to watch (:

This is where I stopped the last time. As I'm speed-watching these episodes because yay, Dimension 20 has uploaded more, I'm reminded that THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST TTRPG GAMES ON THE INTERNET. We've got: - an amazing setting based on lots of personal knowledge of NYC + a rich (urban) mythology surrounding NYC and the American Dream - clever character concepts that play with RPG classes and Newyorker stereotypes in such a rewarding way - admirable roleplay that really sells the PCs as lived-in parts of the setting and shows depth of character - lovable NPCs with cool voices and accents - beautiful production value - special shoutout to the sound design and musical tracks - the funny

I know I'm like a year or so late to this, but I noticed this when watching. From 1:30:24 to 1:30:26, you can see Ally's D20 knock into the Pizza Rat D20 to change it from an 8 to a Nat 20. So technically speaking, Pete the Plug gave Pizza Rat a nudge in the right direction to help the train arrive.

The whole sequence of Brennan killing the dog was honestly so funny that I couldn't even be mad about it.

I thought for sure Brennan was going to make the train arrive in X number of turns. Making it a flat 5% chance means that it could easily just *never* happen.

Because of the higher budget and the general respect of all the players, this is by far the most enjoyable DND game I have ever watched. It feels like so much happens, but all the character development is available and active. Brennan is an insanely good DM and the players are fantastic.

So glad that you guys are still making these videos, you guys are my favorite DND players. Not just the channel, but specifically THIS group is my favorite, and I dream of someday being able to run a DnD group so well behaved, so experienced, so organized, and to be a DM as good at running as you brennan
