This is the way i see life, if you have not done anything wrong, then you have no fear of the outcome, ok, there are individuals who have been accused of a crime and wrongly imprisoned, but overall if you can account for your whereabouts, and have no links to the said crime, then you have nothing to fear, and in this guys case if he had absolutely no part in this stabbing, then what's his fear..? He may not be able to account for his whereabouts. I hope they'll go over the evidence to see if they have the right suspect. But he should have exercised his right to remain silent. I don't have the feeling he could afford a good lawyer.

Whilst I agree with the basic premise of your theory regarding the reintroduction of insane asylums for violent misfits there's an unfortunate reality of finding enough staff on hand to control and monitor them 24/7 once they've been committed. How much would the state need to pay you to work as an orderly 40 hours per week plus mandatory overtime to stand guard watching violent crazies ? Personally I wouldn't do that job for less than $125,000K per year!

I didn't hear him say "I didn't do nothing." His grammar was fine when he spoke. At any rate, if he's done the crime then he should stop pleading and that's it. He doesn't belong on the streets and I don't care if he's ever released from jail. But, give him a fair trial first. But he already admitted he spent 10 years in jail and he's broke.
