Thanks! I have one more thing you might want to check out: a free amp/box construction/wiring app we made called KickerU. Here's the link: www.kicker.com/kickeru
Sorry for the delay! You would be running that amp at 4 ohm stereo. I checked out the specs on that amp and you would be running 200 watts to each voice coil.
Quick question. I'm getting 2 10" L7S's. I have a 1 ohm stable amp. I want to bring them down to one ohm, but my enclosure has 2 seperate chamber so I cant tie them together inside the box. What I'm wondering, is if I tie them on the outside of the box (connecting the 2 terminals on the back of the box, then running only one set of speaker wires to the amp), if it will do the same thing. In my head it works the exact same way but a second opinion and possibly more experienced one can't hurt. Thanks
hello i have 2 12s kicker l7 4 ohms and a kicker 08zx1500.1. my question is how do i wire them to a 2 ohm or will a 1 ohm be good for this amp. thanks.
Either 1 or 4 ohms depending on how you wire it. You might want to grab this free app we made called Kicker U: www.kicker.com/kickeru. It gives you wiring instructions, test tones, a wire calculator and much more.
Hi there how are you? I got 2x L7 15inch 1000RMS 4ohm subs and also a 5000D monoblock amplifier 1ohm. Is that allright to run those 2 sub or it’s gona blow the subs? Cheers

I have 2 15" cvx dvc 4 ohm is 2 way to conect 1 0hm and 4 ohm and I have kicker cx 2500.1 i guess is the line before the zx models but this amp is 2 ohm stable right so I have to wire my subwoofers to 4 di you have a video to see
What if I have a Mono Class D amplifier which is a 1ohm stable..do I still run it to one side connection?? Because the car audio who did it hook up both subs to my amplifier as a 1ohm stable.. any help would I would be grateful
Running one side of a sub, while possible with many (but not all) DVC subs, cuts the power handling in half. So the question to ask yourself is this: is the advantage of getting a lower ohm load worth changing the power handling of the sub, and your setup? Usually, no. Bear in mind that doubling the power results, on average, of increasing the output by about 3dB. Most people say that the actual perception of double the volume to the human brain is 10-12dB. At the end of the day, double the power never equals double the volume. Plus, higher ohm loads tend to be more accurate, acoustically speaking. Hope this helps Samuel!
Hay i wired my subs exactly how u showed and the were hitting unevenly then the voice coil locked up on one of the subs. My subs are db drive k9. They can handle 1ohm and so can my amp. Idk what happened. I need help please. Also started to melt wires goin from amp to sub box. Any help asap would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I have a question about wiring subs in parallel with a thick wire? Is it not possible to use anything bigger than 14 or 12g for the jumper wires? I ran into an issue where I could fit two 10g wires in the same terminal.. What should I do? Subs are 4ohm dvc 600rms each. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I have two Kicker 40CWR124 CompR Series 12 inch Subwoofer 4 Ohm and it has the switch for 2 ohm and 8ohm. I want to run at 1ohm. How do I set up the wires on the speakers for 1ohm? Remember I only have 1 terminal positive and negative on each speaker.
I have 2x older 2ohm 12" l7's in separate enclosures and a 1000 watt 2 ohm amp... can I wire them to work with this amp ? I nolonger know the model of the L7 so I don't know the rms rating ?...?...?... thank you for your help in advance 🥃cheers🍻

ok so i have an audiofonics adf-243 and it says its 4 ohms stable at 2 channels i hooked it up to a dvc 4ohm sub 1 channel to a voice coil and the other channel to the other voice coil thats running at 4 ohm right ?
how many watts is a kicker 07cvr124, I have 2 they are 4 ohm, going to wire parallel to achieve 2 ohms, how do you connect to a 4 channel amp, that does support 2 ohms
Ok I have two 12 inch alpine subs both 4 ohms and I have 1000 watt sony explod will I be able to use it and get more power. If so how will I need to wire it?
Red with white dots white with black dots black dots with solid red. Red with white dots. Solid white with red dots. See. It’s simple. Was the red with white dots negative or positive. The solid red means power the white stripes mean ground. Camera was too far away couldn’t see these stripes and solid dots or a overhead view would have been perfect. As much as I’d like to say this video helped, I’m going to have to watch another video. This one left a little something to be desired. But seriously. Red to red. Black to black on each speaker. Then run 1 set to the amp. Right?
KICKER, i have two 4ohm kicker cvr 10inch subs but my amp gives max performance on 2ohm... how do i correctly run my wires? or do you have a video that explains that already? please help! Thanks... Great videos by the way, tons of info to the rookies like me!
With a pair of S12L54's you can wire them to either a 4 ohm or 1 ohm configuration. The ZX7501 is is designed to work best at 2 ohms. Ideal situation would be if you could exchange your dual 4's for dual 2's. If this is not possible, one option would be to wire them in a series/parallel configuration and run them to the amp. This would only show the amp a 4 ohm load which would decrease the power from 750+ watts to 375-400 watts. Another option would be to run only a single S12L54 wired in parallel to the amp. This would push 750+ watts to the single sub and you would have to keep all the gains and bass boost down and watch out for overpowering but it's an option. We would not recommend wiring down to 1 ohm as the amp is not stable. It will run at times but not consistently and all the shutting down will eventually cause issues with the amp.
?how would i wire 2 dual vc 4ohm subs to a 4ch amp. I tried to wire it up thinking the coils were 2ohms but it appears that each coil is 4ohm. so i need to wire up 2 subs unfortunately all i have for the subs is a 4ch which can be bridged
No I don't have my box information cus I bought the speaker in a built box 2nd hand about 4 years ago, so Idk where the guy is now to ask that question, all I know that the speaker works,so if I put a good 1,500 or 2,000 rms amp on it, with a high output alternator,0 gauge wire and a good big battery up front would this be ok? Cup I'm not trying to push them at 3,000 rms...would the bd t1500 or the zx 2500.1 work also
OK thanks but one more question, I was looking at this bd t1500 amp which is rated to do 1000 watts@4ohms, 1500 watts @2 ohm and 1500 watts rms @1 ohm.would this be a good amp to run on that kicker solo X 18, I was told to get a high out out alt, or gage wires and a heavy duty battery up front, would this b a good set up also...If not I'm willing to spend around $700 or $800 bucks for a amp the bd t1500 is $700 bucks
I'm confused, I'm trying to wire 2 10" DVC 4 OHM subs to my 2 channel amp. The amp says I can get the most RMS @ 2 OHM. How do I wire my subs to achieve the 2 OHMs at the amp? My amp doesn't support a 1 OHM load, only 2 and 4 OHM loads. Can some one please help me.
Question: I have 2 speaker inputs on my 1 ohm stable massive n2 amp.. do I wire like he did . And just use the one side of the terminals on amp. I believe they are bridged to make 1 ohm inside the amp ..please clarify
Sorry, never heard of "N2". If they set up their terminals like we do on our amps, the 2 pairs of terminals are mainly there for convenience, so you dont have to jam too much wire into your sub's terminals. Just to be safe, please check with Massive and verify that is the case. They may have that info on their manual as well.
Just out of curiosity if I have 2 terminal ports on my box could I run both subs out to the box and then run both to the amp so that the power goes through both subs quicker so that it's not running through one sub and then to the next. I have 2 kicker l7s and a hiphonics 2400 monoblock amp thanks...
One thing to keep in mind is that the L7's are dual voice coil, so if you want to connect them to terminals, you will be changing the ohm load you can deliver. Granted, you would end up doing that anyway, whether it was from the terminals or not. As long as the new ohm load works with your amp, then there's no harm in doing that.
@@KICKER-AUDIOI wired them sending negative to the other negative on the other sub, same with positive and ran them out to the amp, is that right? Ty for your response
Hey Tyson my amp is rated at 1. 900w x 2 @ 2ohm 2. 550w x 2 @ 4 ohm 3. 200w x 2 @ 8 ohms Can I wire a pair of speakers at 8 0hms and a 2nd pair of speakers at 4 ohms and wire a pair of subs at 2 ohms ??
Ok I have a quick ? So I have two dvc 12in l5s that are 4ohm and a dvc 12in cvr 2ohm sub and I was wondering if I could wire these all together on my sound ordanace 1500m amp?
Couple of things - you don't want to mix the same size subs that are different models. The sound difference when they play would muddy the sound and it won't be good. You could cross them over at different points but it's still not something we would recommend. Next the dvc 2 ohm speaker would see a different amount of power then the dvc 4 ohm subs due to the resistance of the voice coils. The M-1500 is rated at 500 watts RMS at 2 ohms or 300 watts at 4 ohms. Unfortunately this will not work with the pair of L5's because you would only be able to wire them into a 1 ohm or 4 ohm load to the amp. You could run either a single S12L54 wired in parallel to the amp and it would see 500 watts or you could run the CVR122 in series to the amp and it will see 300 watts. Hope this helps.
Hey I have kicker solo X 18 and I was wondering could I power that speaker with a amp that pushes out 1500 or 2000 rms with no problem? Oh and I how would I know if it's a 2 or 4 ohm coil....I guess it would b a 4 ohm by it having 2 positive and 2 negative coils rite? I'm kinda new to the audio world
Hey Kevin - the S18X can handle the 1500 -2000 watts without a problem. Make sure the other settings on the amp like the gain and bass boost are set at the right levels to be compatible with your headunit. We made that speaker in both a dual 2 ohm and a dual 4 ohm version so it could be either. If there is not a sticker or anything on it to tell you what the ohm is you will need to test each coil on an ohm meter to see what it reads. If it's a dual 2 then each voice coil should read a little less than 2 and the dual 4 ohm will read a little less than 4.
With some amps, the lower the ohm load, the higher the power rating. We recommend you match the RMS of the amp (at that ohm load) to the RMS of the sub(s). Please check how low the load can be for your amp. It varies by manufacturer.
I have 2x 07CVR124's, what wattage amp should I buy?? What should i look for? Ive read around a bit but I have found many different answers. Also what guage sound wire should I use for the best sound? Should I wire them the way you did up above? Forgive my noob questions, I am prepared to learn though ;) Thank you, looking forward to hearing back :)
The RMS is 400 watts per sub, so you're looking for about 800 watts total at 4 ohms (you'll want to wire them series parallel). This is the best one: www.kicker.com/44KXA16001
i ended up wiring the - to - and then the + to + on each speaker individually, then choosing one - and + from each speaker and putting it to its own output from the amp instead of wiring the speakers together.
This video is for a different ohm load sub, but it does show you how to wire in series parallel and how to check that with a meter. I've bookmarked the video to start with how to check your final ohm load: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-htx0aXmzFmo.htmlm24s
I got two 1500w 4ohm duals and a 2ohm 5000w two channel amp. What would be the best way to wire them for maximum performance?? Do I have to bridge the amp??😕
Does it have to be the white dots to the amp or can it be the other way around or mixed up but still be + to + .... - to - Ex: the ones that lead to the box terminal... can it be a (+ w/ ○) & (solid -) ?
hello I need help I have two low kicker L7 of 12 inches 750rms I am moving them with a boss power phantom of 5000 watts but they tell me that they do not hit much. I want to know if you recommend switching power? urgent help ¡¡¡¡
There could be many issues. The wiring could be incorrect, the power insufficient, or there could be a technical problem with the amplifier or subwoofers. I would suggest one of two things to do next: either bring the stereo back to the shop that installed it and let them diagnose the issue(s), or call our Technical Support department. They are open weekdays from 8-5c at 405-624-8510. Thanks!
I have 3 dual 4 ohm subwoofers I wire them down to to 2ohm and I wired all three together and I get .5ohm well I need an amp that is a half stapled or will 1ohm do
You would need an amp that is .5 ohm stable. Most amps that were 1 ohm stable would play at .5 ohms but you would not be able to turn up the volume and over time it would work the components harder and cause them to fail quicker.
My amplifier is 2Ω stable and 40 bridged. My subs are 40 per sub now. Their 40 DVC. I want to bridge my amplifier 40 mono bridged. Do I wire them together to get a final impedance of 40 Thank you. Im looking to get the maximum power.
2 ohms stereo and 4 ohms bridged usually gives you the exact same amount of power, so you're fine either way. You can follow the directions in this video to give you 4 ohms bridged. You can also go to this link to grab our free app, Kicker U. it has wiring diagrams, box building info, tuning info and much more. www.kicker.com/kickeru
You can use the wiring wizard in Kicker U (www.kicker.com/kickeru) for wiring diagrams if you like, but unfortunately 1 ohm isn't possible with a pair of 2 ohm DVC subs. 2 ohms would be the lowest, unless your amp is 1/2 ohm stable.
I was always curious about the hole that gets drilled in the divider. If it makes a difference in sound quality. This is the first time I've heard anyone say one way or another if it makes a difference in the sound of your subs.
Brandon Burks That small of a hole to run your wires thru will not cause a sound difference. We normally recommend each sub having it's own air space. We feel like each speaker can perform better and if something happens and one blows, the other is not working in twice it's recommend air space and can blow easily.
+KICKER Is it possible/recommended to connect each woofer to the terminals and run the jumpers between the terminals? Rather than drill holes and run the jumpers from speaker to speaker.
Sonif I have a 2500.1 soundstream and. 2 audiopipe 15s it's best to run them not togather in parallel for 10hm instead run the separate positive to postive neg to neg to the run 4 wires from the mono block
How do I find the ohm load to my amp? It's a 1600 pioneer champion series 2ch... And I got 2 L7 10" subs with a 4 gauge amp kit 125a in line fuse 3farad vm audio capacitor ...
Best way to find the details of your Pioneer amp is to check their website, usually in the tech support area. Find the instructions, and the ohm load tolerances should be printed there. The model number should be on the amp somewhere.
Some enclosures have a single set of terminals, some have more. You need to know the ohm load of the terminals (check with a multimeter) to determine how to wire them to the amp. Tech Support's contact info is: support@kicker.com or 405-624-8510. They are open weekdays 8-5 CST. They can help you wire it correctly.
Oh and I was also told the speaker is 10,000 watts and 5,000 rms or 3,000 rms idk, so would 1500 watts rms hurt that speaker by under powering it? I been told alot of different story's idk what to believe that's why I'm asking u Mr kicker...oh and it's a 4th speaker so I'm a get it wired down to 2ohm
Originally this speaker was designed for SPL competitions, It is able to handle 5000-10000 watts peak but only recommended for those 20 second bursts to get the top reading. When people began using them in their everyday systems, we explained that for continuous music, the RMS value would be around 2000-3000 watts. The different power handlings are based on the type and size enclosure you are using. Do you have your box information?
Sooo can this be achieved by wiring red to red and black to black and running them on a bridged channel on a monoblock amp? Or can i do red to red and black to black and run each sub to their own channel
Amp is a fusion powerplant pp-am200010 2000w class d mono block soo to clarify... do i wanna doneach sub red to red and black to black and go to each channel.... or wire them together like this.... and go off of one channel
Unfortunately the math doesn't work out on that. You can do 1 or 4 ohms with those subs. Since you have a mono amp, they probably designed the 2 sets of inputs as a matter of convenience during setup. It's still one channel as far as the amp is concerned (unlike a stereo amp, where each set of inputs is independent). We made a free app to make wiring and tuning easier. You might want to check it out: www.kicker.com/kickeru
We dont normally encourage you to do that. The differences in power and cones (2 vs 1) could result in some muddy bass. We would recommend you choose one set or the other.
Different ohm loads exist to get the most out of the amp you're using, and/or to let you use the number of subs you need to create your system. All of the subs of a given series and size have the same specs, whether they are 1, 2 or 4 ohms. Make sense?
Hey Junior, we need to know what the Nemesis should be wired to? Its not a Kicker amp, so I don't know the specs. If the L7's are the same ones we talked about before (dual 2 ohm), then you have 3 choices: 8 ohms, 2 ohms or 1/4 ohm.
We still need to know what the ohm load of the speakers are, so you can wire them correctly. You can also lower the gain of the amplifier to reduce the power. Another option is to go a car stereo shop and ask for their help.

Do i have to jump 1 sub to the other or can i just have 1 sub qired to a 2 ohm load and other sub at 2ohm load then i have 2 positives and to negs can i run both positives and both negatives to the amp and still get 1 ohm load or do i hav to jump 1 sub to the other. Or is that just a way to get more power?
Jeremiah hodge You always have to have positives and negative’s connected for every speaker. As far as the amplifier connection, some amplifiers are one ohm stable and some are not. You would have to check your app to make sure it’s capable of that load.
KICKER what i am saying is i have 2 12 L7s 4ohmdvc and a 2 12 box with a divider if i run one sub to 2 ohms and the same with the other sub. I have 2 terminal caps that leaves me with a positive and negative on 1 side and same for other side. When i hook both of those to the amp will i still get a 1ohm load i have a 1200.1 kx my manual says 1 ohm stable. But the way the video shows it has one sub ran to the other sub and then lwft with just 2 wires. Is that a better way or the only way i will get a 1 ohm load my amp is like 15 years old. When best buy started selling kicker? I already blew up a 1250.1sdx because i ordered a 1200.1 kx offline and they sent me the sdx model and manual that came with it said 1 ohm stable but when i looked recently it says 2 ohm stable online. The lil digital screen just says service. But i was past warranty. I still have the sdx.
On our mono amps, we have two sets of terminals to make wiring easier. What you will do is attach each wire from each terminal cup to the amp. This will result in a 1 ohm load. It is effectively the same as twisting each + wire together and each - wire together, like you used to do on a mono amp with just one set of positive and negative terminals.
One other note. I just learned that we do still repair that amp. The charge generally ranges from 75-125 depending on the issue. If you contact customer service they can give you the details, assuming you want to repair the amp. The number is 405-624-8510. Open weekdays from 9-5 central time.
Devante Mccoy You will want to do a series/parallel configuration. Wire each dual 2 ohm sub in series, then you will parallel them together and this will give you a 2 ohm load.
I found the specs on the bex-2150-1d, and it said it was 1 ohm stable. If that's the same amp, then you're good. I'd go to the hifonics website to confirm if I were in your shoes, or contact them directly.
KICKER i burnt one of my subs i just want to see if you would know why so i wont burn another one sorry im just new to this i was thinking because i was messing with the bass test tone trying different hz to get my gain from my amplifier
There are several things that can lead to a subwoofer failing. Sometimes its the sub, sometimes its the amp, sometimes its the tuning or install. We can help you diagnose the problem if you give us a call. Tech Support's number is 405-624-8510, and they are open weekdays from 8-5 central time. They're happy to walk you through it, so you can tweak your system.

Kurloz Soriano did u buy both subs at same time or is 1 newer than the other. It could b as simple as 1 is more broke in than the other. And truly u only need about 600 watts per sub.
