Cookie was transferred to the Emergency Service as a transfer from her local veterinarian. At the time of presentation, she was semi-comatose and was hardly reacting to any stimuli. Ultimately, it was found that she has a tickborne illness called Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Although Cookie had to spend close to 2 weeks in the hospital with our Critical Care Team, she was finally able to go back home to her family. At that time, she was still very weak and could hardly support her own weight, but less than 2 weeks later, she was up and taking nice long leash walks! Cookie did so well here, and despite the prolonged stay and critical illness, she never gave up and has since made a complete recovery!
