45:32 made me wonder if a monosaccharide in birch, D-Mannose, would have any similar effect. It's one of the 8 essential monosaccharides that a healthy liver should produce but is also in birch tree water (which drips from the branches at the same time of year i believe). Now if these trees were tall like that American Chestnut, at about 22:25 in the video, and dripping this monosaccharide "water" onto other trees...well i assume nature used care for itself like we have to now. They seem big enough to have been canopy trees that would exude so much of this liquid that it might be equivalent to a spray.

Is this only applicable to apple orchards, or does it apply to any kind of trees, e.g. walnuts?
