Hello again tomo. I graduated from Berklee College of music in 1988 with an instrumental performance degree on guitar. So we share a lot in common. I also teach guitar and pass along some of your wisdom to my students and encourage them to watch your channel. I found it very interesting today when you showed the two memo books. I also use the same thing. And the current two books that I am using right now are the same exact color, blue, and red. In the red one I keep a log of my practice sessions per day, and in the blue one is on my personal to do stuff.

It is obvious that writing things down on paper is the easiest and the best simple way!

Awesome Suggestions. I've been On-Call 24/7 for 12 years. Learning what can be done in 10 minutes is key to many goals. Waiting for a certain O'Clock can be detrimental. Why Wait 7 minutes to start something. I can get a sink of dishes done in that time. The only time management I can really handle is Largo at Practice and Moderato generally while playing, sometimes while fingerpicking we reach high into Prestissimo into places I never saw in my Violin. But, when not driving ( well that isn't true I carry a Carbon Fibre in the truck nad am known to stop by river banks) there is a tuned guitar within open reach. Sometimes 5 minutes before the phone rings sometimes an hour. Thing is -- Breathe - Relax. Renumeralize Priorities. In the grande scheme - What is really more important than your mental health? Time is a matter of Perspective - The Ladder Paradox. Time is the 4th dimension. Good Judgement comes from bad Experience. Good Experience comes form bad Judgement. Be well friends.. This is so important, we get bogged down in tone nonsense when the real impediment to creation is our own mismanagement of our time. I have been writing songs for years and years and always have the same problem- keep writing and never finish things. Obviously some of them are finished but they never get recorded properly and you end up with hundreds of unfinished songs! Anyway this is a great idea to start organizing and getting things done. Thx for the video 👍

Your method is so similar to mine! I also keep a daily to-do list where I carry unfinished tasks forward until I can cross them out. It feels so good to finally cross something out that's been on hold (current example is tax stuff that's being held up by lack of docs). For guitar, I keep a to-do checkbook separate from my other things and jot down simple things. I play in a blues jam, so for example I'll jot down "play along with X song" or "pick out Y solo". This type of stuff works great for guitar because a lot of things are low hanging fruit, but sometimes there's so much fruit we get overwhelmed and try to do everything.

I am learning about time management and I am going to manage my time (and money) well enough to upgrade my power supply, (for pedal board) for an upcoming show. My good friend in the industry is letting me play at an upcoming show and it will be my first performance in a long time around a crowd as well as playing with professionals. I am so excited! Great video always something to learn.

I don't know if this is a thing in guitar, but i was thinking back to learning scales on a piano and learning the thing where you pass your thumb until your hand to extend a smooth run down the keys. Is that ever a thing for going up or down the neck? Like keep your middle finger planted and cross your fingers to have a new start from the index? As i type it, o guess it sounds silly 🤷‍♀️ just something weird that came to mind

I want to become a Rockstar. I am 38, but I am not quite there With my Guitar. Not good enough YET....but I am all in. Time waits for no one. If you want to keep up with time, you must get on time's train and ride it to where you want to be.

I don't get the calendar one though, do you write down what you finish or you write the same stuffs you write on your notebook? edit: never mind, I think I get it now, writing down when to do the work and what to do on those days.
