Succession | Season 1 Review (SPOILERS)

I'm always rooting for Kendall. His story just keeps getting more tragic.

I loved how they showed that even though they are rich, they never found time to enjoy anything, and in fact playing the game was the fun. Outings, clubs, holidays, whatever, it was always business.

To me it's like a modern Shakespeare tragedy.

Kendall man, so well written. He’s so tragic because he gets soooo close to the right choices.

Also, i love Matthew Macfadyen as an actor and its a testament to his talent because Tom irritated the F outta me 😂😂 cant believe its Mr Darcy from the 2005 Pride and Prejudice lol

Season one was great and season two is so much better. If they can have another couple seasons of this level of quality - it’s gonna be one of the GOATs.

I’m surprised you guys never mentioned the similarity between this show and arrested development. This show reminds me of a more serious version of arrested development. You have the dad that’s in charge doing shady stuff. Michael Bluth is Ken. Shiv is Lindsay Bluth, Tom is Tobias, Connor is Gob, the stepmom is Lucille, Greg is George Michael and Roman is Buster.

To me this is what billions wanted to be but never had the talent to become.

I love Succession I’ve watched it all the way through 3 or 4 times now. It’s by far the best show on TV post GoT. What I think is interesting is it highlights the difficulties of growing up in such a superrich dynasty, you never really have the loving bonds between siblings and with parents as they’re is so much competition and everything is business. They’ve obviously taken huge inspiration from the Murdochs and these type of people never seem that happy in real life, all they do is work and never retire. Maybe us ordinary folks are actually better off 🤷🏻‍♀️

I loved this show but holy shit did it ever give me some major anxiety and upset at points. So hard watching certain characters just *almost* make the right decisions so many times only to crash and burn. And the stuff between them and their father was hard to watch.

I just started Season one based on your enthusiasm for the series and, I'm calling it right now, Greg is going to run the entire fxn company. 👍🏾

Succession kind of depressed me, so I've yet to watch season 2. Rich people are so soulless. It reminds me of the snobby families in my town growing up

This show reminds me of Arrested Development, but with more deadpan comedy style. The tradition of the entire cast of characters being unlikeable assholes is a lot like so many other shows, such as Seinfeld, Girls, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Malcolm in the Middle, Married With Children, and Family Guy.

Haven’t watched succession probably won’t watch it but I had to come drop a like on the vid for the boys!

I agree, the characters are unlikable, but you still eventually develop favorites. It's often very, very funny. Overall It's as good as GOT, but without the sword fighting. Also well shot and directed.
