I feel so bad for Rava. I think deep down she does have sympathy for Kendall, no love anymore but understanding how sad he is. I think it’s a sense of obligation since I’m imagining that she probably gets tons of money from Kendall and so she owes him a bit so she appeases him all the time despite how uncomfortable she is

re: the jess thing, idk if it was just that the comedy didn't hit for you but the joke is in fact that she's literally relaying the insults rather than couching them. imagine how surreal that must be for her to have to copy those kinds of things back to her boss. that she's kendall's long-suffering assistant and employee and she's being asked to relay these insane petty insults back and forth between a father and son in a very personal way. in a less "explaining the joke" kind of way, it also reflects the way she's treated by kendall, the extremely unprofessional interpersonal bs she has to deal with on a daily basis (she literally has to procure drugs for him as an unofficial part of her JOB), and the fact that this whole thing is inextricable from the fact that it's essentially a family spat that's being pushed outwards onto people like jess just trying to make a living.

I found this episode so excruciating to watch because of the way Kendall was acting, it was so cringey and taking over his ex- wifes apartment, it reminded me of the way he acted in the first episode in the beginning when he tried to do a deal with Lawrence, just so cringey.

Succession has always been about succession. 1st scene was Logan pissing and later in episode getting a hemorrhage. So who will lead Waystar Royco, the multi-billion dollar company that has Parks, Cruises, a film studio, and ATN when this Mad Titan has fallen. Here's your candidates! (Remember you can just be a rebel wanting the company to just burn to the ground because of it's toxic influence on the world and USA). Connor - Irrelevant, running for Presidency to show that he isn't insecure, no business experience. Kendall - High business acumen, experienced, the most likely of the sibs to be chosen. The only downside being his drug use because of getting no validation from those he loves. Roman - Has experience but doesn't take things seriously. Most like Logan (racist tendencies and all too) but with no confidence to back it most of the time. Shiv - Smart, No business experience, politically savvy, ruthless like Logan both in business and personal life. Some other candidates: Greg - Logan's nephew, darkhorse, most people's favorite, shows himself as awkward to get what he wants. Stewy - Ken's friend, came to power by taking away Waystar's $3B debt. Has majority of company's shareholders on his side because of his and Ken's planning, experienced. Tom - Experienced, Typical Ass Kisser found anywhere you work. No spine. Gerri - General counsel for the company, experienced, too scared of blowbacks. Frank - Ex- COO of the company, experienced, loyal, power hungry, can take a moral stand. Karl - CFO, experienced, power hungry. Someone from outside like Lawrence Yee (from Vaulter) who maybe wants revenge for his company being taken over by Waystar. Or streaming giant GoJo's CEO Lukas Maddsen (mentioned by Ken in S1 as a possible acquisition, Logan rejects it to go for Local TV).

Reality program is right. This is a purely voyeuristic journey into the lives of the megarich and famous and none of them have redeeming features, they are all horrible. Maybe that makes us feel better about ourselves? Also the writing….and the music no? ❤
