I was 8. Barely a year later my moms and friends drove us 6 hours with no clue where we were going to, SURPRISE, a Wham! concert. Opener was Pointer Sisters and Katrina and the Waves. Unforgettable. Also, yes, they were amazing live. George was pure lightning in a bottle while Andrew was everything silly and funny. I was blessed to have a second mom that took us, it was general admission and that woman steamrolled us to the very front/ side of stage... where I held onto a fence the entire time, completely rapt. One of the most special memories of my life.

I was 10 years old when this song came out and Wham! became a huge part of my childhood. So many great songs! I was sad when they broke up and George Michael went on to a solo career. A great one to react to would be their video for “Edge of Heaven” because it was their goodbye video for the fans, the last song they released as a band, and it shows clips from all of their previous videos. Plus a live performance throughout. You really get to see what they were all about. And it’s an awesome song with lots of energy! P.S. You are the first reactor I’ve seen who noticed the girl clapping out of sync and mentioned it. For that, I am subscribing to you. Love your reactions!

Most famous for the films Calamity Jane, Pillow Talk etc to name a few. Loved her too. I was 5 btw when this came out. Yes, George's concerts are fantastic. In fact, I would highly suggest you pull some up. You'll not believe what you seeing & hearing! Most of the time he sounds exactly like his recordings & better. He brings in his audience, dances & belts It Out. George includes everybody. He always did. Right from the beginning of his career. Watch Some of his faith tours, & proceed through the next 25+ years. You will be glad you did, I promise. However, you won't know until you do, right! Check It out & enjoy. See yah next time!

I was 15 in 1984. I obtained my favorite songs 2 ways: 1) on vinyl purchased at a record store and 2) by recording them off different radio stations using my giant, double cassette, AM/FM boom box with antenna. I'd make mixed-cassette tapes for myself (45 min each side), then bootleg copies for my friends on the DL. We'd also listen on our record players, home stereos, while coveting the family station wagon and, yes... on our battery-powered, imitation Sony Walkman's (headphones and belt clip included!) 😆 Fun Factoid: In 1983, cassettes outsold vinyl for the first time. #MakeAmericaThe80sAgain #ASideOrBSide #AllAboutThatBase

This was 1984 and I was 10. Wham were especially popular with kids my age and back then everything they released was huge (although other great pop songs of theirs like "Freedom", "Edge of Heaven" and "I'm Your Man" have been kind of forgotten). It was a seriously competitive time in the music industry with many greats jostling for position in the charts - Queen, Freddie solos, Michael Jackson, Wham / George Michael, Culture Club, Prince, (peak) Madonna, Phil Collins ... It sure was a different world. Phones were (usually) one per house, analogue, and wired up and screwed to the wall. Only 3 or 4 tv channels (in the UK), and they stopped broadcasting shows around midnight until 6am or so every night. If you switched the TV on during this time, you got nothing but a creepy testcard and a flatline-monotone sound. We didn't have a VCR (Video Cassette Recorder) but some families did. Nor did we have a microwave oven yet, for a couple more years. CDs had only just been invented the year before, and hardly anyone had those. Computer games took 5 minutes to load by cassette (and loaded very noisily) - If someone made the floor shake too much while loading, the computer would lose track and you'd have to rewind and start loading again. And the games were crap anyway cos total RAM capacity was about 32K for a home computer. No such thing as internet. So we had board games/card games and played out on the street or in the park like *all* the time, till dusk and nobody crapped themselves about safety 24/7. A can of coke cost about 20p (maybe 16 cents at today's rate?). Cars had bumpers so you didn't get scratched and have to pay at the slightest contact. You had to wind the windows down manually and lock/unlock each individual door manually too. If you wanted to find out some random information for school homework, you'd have to go to the local library and look on microfishe for the right book, then probably order it from a bigger library, and the whole thing would take days. TV remotes were rare and considered to be degenerate anyway. :D I wish I had a time machine. :P

I was 9 when this song came out. I listened to all kinds of music biggest memory involving music was my dad bought me a Mötley crue cassette and I was listening to it in my Walkman when my grandmother heard it and took the cassette and threw it in the trash I got it back she then pulled the tape out and I put the tape back into the cassette the third time she smashed the cassette with her cast iron skillet. Everytime you react to an 80s song I go back to my childhood things were so much better then today. Playing outside until my parents would be yelling for us to come inside kids today don't do that.

That was a couple months before my 4th birthday so I was to young to remember anything! But I remember hearing it in movies!

I was a kid when this song came out. I didn't really get a chance to hear it then. My parents had 8 kids, 6 girls and 2 boys with 1 set of twins. No We're Not Catholic! Mum had problems with Medication and Dad Refused To Do Anything. I was My Mum's "Little Surprise Package" when she was 44. My 2 Eldest Sisters Were Married And Having Kids. Mum was an Elvis Fan and Dad was an old-fashioned Rock-n-roll is a message from the devil type. When I was 13, Mum and I left My Abusive Dad. We Moved From Brisbane to The Atherton Tablelands, Far North Queensland. One of My Sister's moved up from Brisy (that's what most people call it) too. I taught Her about My Music in the 90's and She started teaching Me about different types of music. In a way I think it was a blessing, as a result My Music Tastes run from Classical to Heavy Metal. I'm always discovering New Old Musical Artists. For years I'd visit Family and Friends, with a collection of CDs and a Diskman. My Sister's and Older Friends, would excitingly ask. "So What Have You Got, With You This Time?" So they could play CDs in the car. One of My Brothers live in England, in '95 He met and fell in love with a Pretty English Tourist. He followed Her Home, a year later they got married and now they have a teenaged girl. He came back Home to Australia for a holiday a couple of years back. We let Him borrow the car to visit our Uncle up in the cape. In the Outback, basically the dessert. I bought out some CDs for Him to choose from, He found it difficult to choose.

So fun seeing Billy react to this with no apparent awareness of where George Michael's career went from here. I as about 7 when this came out. The saga of the Wham! breakup was so huge to us members of the first MTV generation!
