Lmao. Not only did they sing the same key, the formula of the beats right down to the timing of the chorus is almost exactly the same. Don't let your judgment get drowned by your biases, fangirl. Also, as the person above me said, tone? What you know about music is obviously next to nothing. Bottomline: the tone, the pitch, and the timbre are almost the same.

Being able to mash up songs together, and them sounding the exact same are so different. Watch this video and then still tell me they are the same.
But Portugal. The Man actually credited them for the song . They said the song is heavily inspired by Mr. Postman . And Jonas Brothers just acknowledged it now , when they were asked about it . And their defence was "feel it still sound like Mr. Postman and so it's fair".

Its totally different song. Even the falsetto approach is different, melody. The only same thing is that both hv a kinda retro feel in them n both hv falsetto"but portugal the man just using falsetto all the way through the song and it is kinda 'womanly falsetto' , while jonas brother hv more variation and the falsetto is more open n medium way. Don't understand why portugal the man accused jonas brother on this. Anyways, love both songs
He just made a new video , comparing this both song n conclude that it doesn't same, not on melody and the way the song approach. But only the same on the "retro feeling" and both hv falsetto which is still a different falsetto used on both songs. His conclusion was actually that they don't sound similar at all. He said "You can't own falsettos" which is pretty much the only element these two songs have in common when you break it down. It's a bit ridiculous that Portugal. The Man is calling the Jonas Brothers out for this.
It really doesn't sound the same. Fitting together and sounding the same is completely different. Meghan's All About That Bass and Koyote's Happy Mode is something I would consider sounding the same.

yeah but LITERALLY the only similarity is that sucker is sung in falsetto for about half the song by Nick Jonas, besides that they were completely different
