Sucker Lake Pan Fishing & Garmin Striker Cast GPS Actual Water Usage Video!

Got out to do some pan fishing at Sucker Lake here in the metro. Very good place for some family fun pan fishing right in the metro and the waters not too deep or too fast so great place for the family.
Also figured that since there is usually good amount of pan fish around, be great place to throw the Garmin Striker Cast GPS and see what it would like like with fishes under it. Haven't found any videos with this kind of content for this device so this is what I got from it.
A tiny bit high on the price but with the brand its from and the technology in it, it is what the price is. Definitely a game changer in my opinion for shore fisherman or even small boats etc if you don't want to have the battery setup etc.

Eh brother, I just bought one of those to scan fish in my area. I can see a lot of fish but no idea what type they are?

yep thats all it will provide. youll have to learn through time what they possibly can be but the point of the device is just to show you that there is fish in that area. its not made to tell you what kind of fish. that is up to you to find out by throwing you lures at it. youll have to keep note on what the sizes are and where and what area it is and through time youll have an idea of what they could be. its a process so it takes time

On the fence to buy this, but the manual says to use 20lbs line, but do you think I can get away with 8lb fluro lines for some gental pond fishing without overhead casting? Don't want to buy another reel just for this. What do you think?

so what I did was buy a cheap $20 catfish combo from walmart and bought 65lb powerpro braided line to use this on. this way I feel that it wont easily break off if I chuck it. so far its been working for me.

Also, if you're still reading these comments. I noticed the water was very shallow, only 3-4 feet. What bait did you use in that situation?

cant go wrong with gulp minnows or using any live bait such as angler worms or crappie minnows. but it also all depends on what the fish want at the moment you are fishing, sometimes they very picky sometimes they not, you know just like us sometimes we know what we want exactly and sometimes we dont. can always also use wax worms type etc. just gotta make sure you setup your line and bobber correctly so that your bait will be at the most prime position for them to bite. most times people dont factor in the depth to correct the bobber and hook so their bait is in that right strike zone that the fish want. hope this helps!

Where’s the white bass in there? It was stocked a few years ago but it should be yearly so we don’t have to travel to other states to get them. Good video keep them coming!

Love it! Best spot is those tunnels. You'll get bass on chatterbaits up and down that channel once the water warms up!

yeah pretty crazy 2 years ago just pan fishing for fun and not even trying my son messed around with a funny setup of senko hook with sinker and crawldad and hooked on a nice 4 pounder just chilling right in the middle lolol pretty funny but many stories from online of monsters on this lake especially the non fishing side

not sure about the diameter at that depth but i replied to your first comment with what garmin has but ill reply again here just in case you dont see the other reply: Frequencies supported 260/455 kHz Maximum depth From less than 0.6 m to 45 m (from less than 2 ft to 150 ft) Beamwidth 22° x 63° @ 260 kHz 9° x 14° @ 455 kHz and yes stay tune got more videos coming with this device!!! and as always if you are interested please do use my links to buy one! much appreciated!

I think if I remember correctly it depends on your frequency level the higher it is the narrower the cone. Ya think at like 400 it’s a third the depth so at 10 feet just a bit over 3 feet wide at bottom
