As Hawaiians, there will come a day when we put all of our petty differences aside, and stand together as one UNITED NATION OF KANAKA MAOLI. And i for one cannot wait until that day comes. It still hurts my soul to watch our people fight with each other and struggle to make a living in our own 'aina. But i firmly believe that our desire for a cultural independence comes from our ancestor's struggle to keep our ways alive, and that we WILL find our way on the right path: Pure Aloha.

I think a true hawaiian is someone who has the hawaiian blood who understands the history and is spiritrualy linked to the land and has mana in there hearts and pride of a hawaiian I am 50%hawaiian and i am proud of my nation Hawai'i i am not proud of the USA and what they did to us but we have to deffend our land and our pride from the haoles that offend it or disgraced it or worst hate it i love my land and my people i am learning the language and still getting the history Ku'e

hawaii is our land in our hearts, but we all know we will never really get this land back to how it was. hawaiian people were always able to adapt to different situations. educate ourselves and become a leader in the haole government and favor hawaii and the hawaiian people, thats all we can really do .

@AHirschenhofer. Mahalo plenty! I hope so too. I'm just saying that is because our constitional goverment was part of the adaption of the British system of Monarchy. We adopted their system of goverment while still taking into account of the Hawaiian context. I'm just saying we should maybe re-adapt and learn in the modern times. Beacause a lots has changed since our country was overthrown. I'm just saying is bcause indepedence is a very big thing! I don't want no one dieing!

Aloha,I am a Kama'aina British lad. It's not really about hate but anger and more specifically outrage, and I can understand it readily. The Kanaka Maoli were told, after the takeover, they were stupid by the Americans, couldn't speak their language without being punished, hula was banned etc. etc. Worst of all in my firm opinion, stolen from the people of Hawai'i; a Nation that had the right to evolve into a Nation as part of the world community.

One day when the day when we are fully prepared for independence and the U.S. leaves, I want the U.S Governemt to be put on trial in front of the International Court and being read charges of numerous violations of Hawaiian and U.S. laws, international laws, UN laws, etc. In the end, U.S. paying us a large fine of I say about... $500 TRILLION DOLLARS! Maybe first things first, go back to British Protectorate rule until the people of Hawaii is educated how to run the re-established goverment

I was raised in Hawaii, but not hawaiian and I learned in class that it was wrong and I can see why, but nowadays if it wasn't done it was gonna happen one way or another cause Hawaii is perfectly set up military wise and its better to have that Democracy taking over then Communism in my opinion. Again it was wrong how it had to happen, but it happened one way or another just like the Native Americans...
