I didn't get the instant gratification which I was expecting the first time but this movie tastes way better after the second viewing, trust me.

Suprisingly this time Lokesh didnt give interview to Sudhir channel here but he did to all other channels. Guess he will give post release interview.

In simple words…. After watching beast i felt cheated n angry merely for taking audience’s IQ for granted. I didnt feel that with Vikram. Both i saw on day 1….. Vikram is not a movie without flaws. But tht doesnt mean its bad in any sense. Manage ur expectations, Watch it in theatres and u will hv fun. pls dont spoil the movie for others. Say no to mobile phones inside theatres !! 😀

After watching the movie for the first time, can't say whether the film is good or bad. But after watching for second time i am clear, film is very good. Slow poison appadi dhan irukum

Overall the movie is good. Best being Tina's reveal. Couple of missed opportunities interval scene Kamal should have been more energetic. Should have been more creative. Fahadh's wife's death could have been more dramatic. Climax is very similar to master. Lots of death, sort of makes the stakes less. Motivations of Amar to destroy entire house of Sandhanam which has kids and all is unclear or even too much. It seems like the writing was very difficult to tie everything together.

Since we've been seeing VJS na doing himself most of the time, it becomes very noticeable when he plays something far from it, and with extreme passion. So many goosebumps moments throughout the film, so much excitement within this dark dark world that Lokesh has created, for the stars and their requirement of an extremely believable performance from each one of them. Can't wait for the next one.

I really enjoyed it in the second viewing. This movie is a slow medicine. It gets into you slowly. Now I will definitely watch it thrice in theater before it comes to OTT

I believe since there is so much details in the Film, this film has a very good re-watch value.. I was able to get the reasons for so many thing thats happening in the film that i didn’t notice the first time because this time i know whats going to happen… This , I think is intentional writing from Lokesh… Quite impressed with that!!

May be Kaithi only had Karthi and 2.20 hrs so the engagement was perfect . Here 3 top heros almost 4 main characters and the duration is 2.55 hrs . Its really very much appreciable that they engaged this much with the space theyve gotten in the film . Vikram may have minor flaws when noticed keenly but nothing touches you when you watch the film . A topclass theatre experience !

The drug bullshit completely lost me. And completely agree with 90s like usage of body shaming or that trans like person in Pathala pathala. The Suriya piece did not work for me and the baby vikram cpr came and went without any effect. Why bring Sambandham was brought to the godown when he could have been dealt separately and the drugs could have been destroyed separately. And why bring the baby into this unsafe location when it could have been with the mom. But biggest criticism is the shallow philosophy underneath it all separates it from classics like Dark Knight. On one side it has been years for us to make films with that level of execution. Looking forward to more LCU. Maybe his philosophy will also deepen

The post climax scene is inspired from Dark Knight's climax when Vikram sits on a chair in restaurant in US

I had kind of a mixed feeling too, but worth a watch. I reckon this is more of a canvas movie to setup the characters for his future movie.

Can't be convinced that this is a fight against drugs? The last shot of the movie seals it. Why is Ghost there instead of being with his grandson in US? This film has a lot more depth. Also deserves a very late review

A very good review! without the story being logical and deep, making alone can not win all the audience. Definitely the making of the film is stunning. But story and screenplay are poor. I totally agree with body shaming part. When will Tamil cinema ever come out of it! Almost all the comedy tracks in our movies are based on sexism and body shaming from koundamani to vivek to vadivelu to yogi babu! Even big actors like Vijay in sivakaasi, rajini in padaiyappa made very sexist comments and we celebrated it. I wish one day Tamil cinema accepts its wrongs done in the past and become humane and progressive!

Very well reviewed Sir some how I felt although you enjoyed Vikram as mass Audience but you chose to be cautious or rather careful not to go overboard and praise .. the fact of the matter is its an intelligent hybrid movie made with a flavour of commercial entertainer and some Art… Actually this young and extremely talented director Lokesh is a show man with content and in the first half his efforts went in to building blocks ( split in Small parts) and that alone led the stage & on fire .. All i want to infer is .. it has left me & a large set of international and Namba Audience in Awe overwhelming , admiration that which is grand, sublime, extremely powerful

I second you for most of this review..definitely not as good as kaithi. Especially the long climax which we have already seen in kaithi, tamil rocky and the same style in kgf2 recently. Batmans influence could be avoided...but giving equal or more screenspace and importance to other characters is definitely a positive sign..hope other stars can learn from this

Also his ending to the dialogue was more like 'sorry am lecturing, but what am sayjng is important' types... than trying to call himself out

This is an honest tribute from Lokesh a fan boy who directed his idol. But he made his stamp by bringing every star performers into his world and treated the script with absolute honesty and did justice for this genre. His cinematic brilliance was just meticulous in making this film an engaging one right from beginning to end.. I felt very emotional being a big fan of Kamal sir and watching him on screen in a movie like this just lit up 🔥 The actors whomever being big or small, has given their best to make it more engaging. Overall, Lokesh Kanagaraj is becoming a new age cinematic genius with his way of screenplay and narration.. This was his authentic best and its great he was able to show his best with his Godfather on board. 🔥👏🙌👌❤️

Wonderful review. Interesting that you pointed out Kamals accent. I had issues with Surya's accent at the end of the movie but not Kamals as he seemed a little posh at the end. I might be biased or used to Kamals accent but i never feel it is forced. Surya's accent seems forced. Unlike rest of the public i feel Surya intro kind of changed the tone of the movie. I wish he had no dialogs after such an intense movie. Your.comments please Your review has made me question/wonder abouf so many things and looks like i need to watch it again on tv.

I loved Vikram and I'm excited for Lokesh's upcoming movies like #Thalapathy67, #Kaidhi2, #Vikram3🔥 but I'll have to agree with Sudhir sir on some points... 1. The part he said it didn't hit in the feels.. I did feel Massy and I was hyped for the firey scenes but as u said the emotional connection I felt with Fahadh's character and the characters surrounding him, I didn't feel in the storyline of the movie ♥️ agreed! 2. The reason why the fight scenes were happening felt hollow.. yes some parts I felt that too.. especially the prison fight, but I didn't mind it that much as it was interesting and there wasn't any lag..🔥 3. The length, yes esp the 1st half but it picked up well 4. Kamal's English slang although can be justified by him being in the 80s and been to the US, but you're right felt a little out of place.. Otherwise: What I don't agree on is: 1. The part u said about him using certain slang and words like kolantha, I felt that was okay, since his character is a little flawed in the film, it wasn't a big deal for me ♥️ 2. The dialogues on drugs felt like a statement: although yes it somehow seemed like that, but I feel there was heart to it and at the end of the day u need to make a point to say what's the film about.. 3..For Lokesh to make his hero take a step back and then go all guns blazing in the 2nd half is 🔥 Anyway, great review Sudhir sir..

First of all hatsoff to the director for being impartial(though a fan of Kamal sir), and for valuing every artist's presence on screen... Vikram is definitely a LOKESH film.... The idea of building multiverse is definitely possible and acceptable....Lokesh's last 3 movies dealt with prohibition of drug system... Maybe another movie or a set of movie including more artists in multiverse format with the theme of prohibiting drugs is much essential for the society too ! To change the mindset of drug abusers,through cinema medium is quite possible if did!

The movie is good. But the kind of hype it receives baffles me. The movie is a mish-mash of Red, Polar, and has heavy inspirations from The Dark Knight, Limitless, and Shoot 'Em Up. The execution is top notch. No doubts. Anirudh is outstanding and so are Anbariv. Great set up to integrate Kaithi and eager to see what's happening next. The pre-interval sequence is where it gets really exciting. FaFa is brilliant. Top notch screenwriting. To the ones who say the movie is realistic. Absolutely not. Especially the gun sequences. And why is this KH movie successful? He trusted the creative team and took a backseat.

KGF might be having Goosebumps in movie. But Vikram is Goosebumps in itself

The movie is Dark Crime Saga which shows how the character and arc of Vikram is not alone related to himself as it is same for all Secret Agents who live a life under the radar and as a shadow or ghost doing the work for the government. Also Amar is also a Ghost who has become a VIKRAM in his moral universe when the system has failed him causing a collateral damage to his life. Vikram, Bejoy, Amar are all Ghosts now, but entitled and sincere to their duty for which they signed up for. Spoilers Coming: Two Drug Busts happen simultaneously at two different places ( Kaithi and Vikram ) and the both movies are results of consequences of the same. What if Vikram was the key planner for both operations like how Prabanjan hid one slot of Sandhanam and other slot of Anbu was captured and hid by Bejoy. Also Ajaz Ahmed (Sampath) was undercover in Adaikalam gang and earned their trust until Stephen Raj blew his cover. I want to see how Prabanjan and Ajaz are groomed to infiltrate and also follow up these gangs since these two affected two different gangs working for the same boss ROLEX. Some knots are untied and some characters are left just like that so they will get payoff in the upcoming movies in the franchise. Rolex , Adaikalam, Anbu and many more are much alive. Ghosts ( Vikram, Amar and Bejoy) 🤜🏻🤛🏻Rolex would be fun to watch and rejoice. Dilli joining former gang would be cherry on the top.

Sudhir, I thought you will talk about the very long climax fight which is much longer than Kaithi Climax not sure why many are missing it. It was going too much beyond. I stopped watching movies in theater due the cost of $20 or more per person not that long cannot afford but while I pay $10-$12 only for any Hollywood movies why I have to more for our Indian movies but as you said it’s could predict many things like Kamal’s dying or Gayathri getting killed or Surya coming in climax etc also the Tamil language was not appropriate and the prostitution scene was not what I excepted from Lokesh and the blood shedding too not sure what young directors think of them like Quentin Tarantino.not sure how many will agree.

I just watched Vikram. My honest review. Some scene are not nice to watch like going to protitute and making sounds like having sex. Unwanted scene. Just cutting off with knife like cutting chicken really stupid and too much. Now I know why KGF is liked by like all in India. North Indian enjoyed KGF but not Vikram. We still need to learn from them. KGF really connect the people with story, screenplay, dialogue, acting, style and music.

With all due respect to your opinion, I have to disagree with your thoughts about the midget and how Vikram calls him kolanthai. We did enjoy when he goes unnoticed (thanks to his height or lack thereof) to slit open the Achilles’ tendons of people. That scene was enjoyable because of the obvious physical marker of the guy that played that role..he did it well mind you. I wouldn’t paint it with my PC brush

You yourself said its a spin off from Kaithi and everybody knows there's a possibility for a sequel, but still you keep nitpicking as though its just one movie which should encompass the "one man's revolution is another man's terrorism" ideology. This is just a buildup to possibly something big which will add more meaning to that ideology.! Why is that so hard for you to understand this is beyond me! When Kaithi was released there was nothing to compare to and you were able to accept the movie as it was, but for this movie knowing fully well there's an obvious sequel you expect the movie to do justice to its ideology when the buildup is just starting? You've been doing this film reviewing/criticizing for a few years and to approach this movie with high expectations, a rather narrow (comparing)mindset and failing to get the bigger picture is a serious put off for me!
