Many said Greater Victoria is good to visit once every 10 years. Long term living, jobs, wages, living expenses, work and social upward mobility, social excitement, variety is better in other major Canada metro regions.

Hmmm....tell locals you are here to stay... this one surprizes me, never would have even thought of it and I was born here almost 58 years ago. great video though you did a nice job on it!! Sue, thank you for an wonderful insight! I was married in Victoria 7 years ago and fell in love with this city! We are planning to move there from Lower Mainland :) I did not know about hidden job market, and looking online for a job was scary, as there are not that many opportunities. Where is the best place to look for a job at first at your opinion? Thank you!

Cnn just voted vancouver island as one of the top 20 places on earth to visit, this was just announced January 03 2020, if you get a chance travel to other parts of the island , even the metro victoria area away from the tourist places, fantastic

The information presented here is accurate. Watch this multiple times on different occasions before making a decision. Assume nothing and verify everything. Carefully read indeed for 6 months and look for patterns BC = bring cash, Sunshine tax

how big of a problem is "homeless & drugs" pls? im esp. interested in the "drugs" part - every major city around the world has "homeless & drug" problems, but there is a slight difference between medellin and tokyo (for example).

On a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is bad, 7.5+ in downtown Victoria. In the downtown area is for tourists,the homeless business folk, for the most part. Many, almost most, people do all of their shopping in other communities like Sannich and Langford, as that is where the 95% of the big box stores are.

Hello......The Federal Government (Department of National Defence) is probably the largest employer in Victoria...How did you leave that one out?

Thanks for the video. Very detailed and accurate. I would encourage new comers to study this video and really take to heart what you wrote and of course watch many other videos and read the comments too. Check out Reddit and indeed for a few months and note the patterns. The stuff about finding a job is very accurate. It may take years to find a well paying job here. Bring Cash is paramount. There is an expensive sunshine tax and very expensive housing and rental market here.

People are leaving because they cannot afford to rent, or buy. Unless retired, have a job already there, can afford to buy a home . ... hard to live there.

Victoria, B.C. is a Retirement Villa. Nobody comes to Victoria looking to launch a large business or get a high paying job. The only job you are likely to get in Victoria, B.C., is the job you create for yourself because VERY FEW companies are hiring in Victoria, B.C. . The post secondary education system on Vancouver Island is the worst in Canada. The only people who go to the worst University in Canada, that is the University of Victoria, are unsuspecting immigrants who are new to Canada and don't know any better. Don't come to Victoria, B.C. to work, come here to retire!
