I can be proud of myself because I baited Lemon Cake into torture doing WC with this horr... wonderful country under original video about country with worst national ideas in game
Honestly, those national ideas are SOOO much better, and I could you know do things like flip Catholic and revoke. So maybe if I ever do an 'all achievement series' or something, sure.
There's something else I'm unsure of. If as Japan you go with the ikko ikki, is the theocratic republic or theocracy option better? (They share basically all features with each other. The only main difference between them is that the theocracy option has the ability to see the stats of the ruler and heir options. Through why you'd chose either options is because they have built in missionary strength and harmony generation and karma decay (you become Buddhist by taking the reform which makes either option arguably the best tier one government option for Buddhism. The harmony is good if you switch to confusion, though it's worth noting that the reform is locked to Japanese culture nations that follow a religion in the eastern religion group). Both options get rid of the nobility because of being considered a peasant republic (as a republic this allows early parlimentarism unless you decide to get a different republic reform, as a theocracy you also have options for parliament but in this particular case it's only one option), it also has extra morale (the same amount that Shinto provides) so I think it's at least worth considering (even if you want to stay Shinto, it's compatible with the reform)
If you weren't counting the ikko ikki theocracy. The theocratic republic option for the ikko ikki allows you to stay a republic and go with other paths (such as the supreme shogunate, but specifically not emperor of China), it also allows you to stay a theocracy and do some of the other paths (like you'd guess. It doesn't allow you to be emperor of China, and the ikko ikki theocracy is arguably the best theocracy Japan gets)
Bird counter more than one, effectively not ironman. Game ruined smh. Joke, i wouldn't play ironman for that game neither. Look at that battle rng 😅 Edit : WHAT DID YOU MEAN IT GET WORSE!!? 😂
It's a good accomplishment! Someone on the internet doing things should not take away from your achievements. Me doing this/not doing this has no impact on the work you put in yourself.
I have a question for playing as Savoy. Do you think it's with disinheriting the starting heir or not. I'm trying to figure out what nation in Italy is the best for forming rome, I got the emperor dlc (in addition to rights of man and mandate of heaven) and keep on getting bad luck with Milan (the ruler keeps starting with garbage traits (by this I mean negative traits. The only time it's actually helpful is if he has the one that lowers legitimacy so I can get the republic sooner, at least then I can replace him sooner). Austria keeps rivaling me at the start and when they don't they are friendly with Venice and don't get hungry, and basically all nearby nations decide to ally Aragon and or Austria or sometimes castle or France within the first few months). Also according to the wiki Naples can only complete the mission that gives them tolerance of the true Faith if they happen to be the defender of the Faith as a Catholic nation (specifically it needs to be at least around tier 4 from what I recall). Through Naples doesn't get a mission for more claims in Italy unless I'm mistaken. Venice has the land and diplomacy to make something happen and even has missions that can help but is weakened by it's position of not being in the hre. Florence has (to a minor extent) a Byzantium situation where you need to be fast diplomatically so you can get the allys you need and you require a bit of setup before your first wars so you can get the ball rolling, and Savoy has good missions in an arguably good spot with a claim being required to do most early missions but you have a sub optimal heir with an ok starting ruler (the starting ruler is good specifically with diplo and not that good at much else, the heir slacks diplo by 3 points compared to the ruler and only slightly is better at mil compared to the ruler)
With King of Kings, Italy itself is the way to go, otherwise, basically anyone you can form on the way helps with temporary buffs. Tuscany/Sardinia Piedmont are the classic highlights, and do consider Croatia for that years of separatism until the end of the game too.
I think you may have misunderstood what I asked. I was asking if it's worth disinheriting the starting heir of Savoy. And that even with dlc's to help me I'm getting some really bad luck with the ai alliances in Italy and mostly unlucky with ruler traits, after that I was asking what Italian starting nation is the best overall in regards to the permanent mission rewards you could get early or at least before becoming an Italian formable (as I said. Venice has it's missions. Milan has it's republic and ok missions. Florence/Tuscany can swap to monarchy and get a free diplomat. Savoy/Sardinia-piedmont get free admin efficiency with goods produced and a mission that gives permanent missionary strength and tolerance of the true Faith (and arguably has the best national ideas of the Italian formables if you don't count Italy). Naples/two sicilies gets a small permanent bonus to tolerance of the true Faith in exchange for it being an annoying prerequisite if you don't stay Catholic but you can get some reform progress, basically all other options in Italy are an opm with generic missions but may have national ideas that could make it worth while)
@@christianwhite8877 regarding disinheritance, I mean I tend to yeet bad rulers as much as possible, but I tend to overvalue mana gen in fairness. It depends how much you want that 50% prestige for AE reduction.
An interesting way of looking at things is that early on you ideally have a good ruler and at least a decent heir. This allows you to expand without falling behind in tech or ideas, but later on in the late game it only really changes how quickly you can core land because of the monarch points
I don't really like the constant birding. What's the point of playing iron man then? I have nothing against a bird here and there when something campaignruining happens, but half of the video is gigachad
Well, its a hard run and a lot of rng here, like losing 200 dip points is going to set me back significantly, which may prevent a completition. Frankly, I would rather be open about it, and ironman exists to prevent me basically using the console. The other issue is RU-vid somewhat: runs without birding either take significantly more time (because I will just restart the run 50 times until I get the RNG I want) or be significantly less 'impressive' which is worse for getting people to watch. I think birding and being open about 'yeah I had to bird this 50 billion times) is a good compromise in that sense, but to be clear I frequently encourage people to try no bird runs themselves, and as an MP player, most of my hours in this game are in an environment where I can't bird, even for 'game ruining' things.
@@LemonCake101 Thanks for the reply! It's not so much the issue to use birds for a video, that one i totally understand (I would still rather use normal mode, cause just reloading saves you time, but it's no big deal). For me it's more the amount of time spent in this particular video showing an event and then a bird screen. I usually really like your videos and I enjoy the campaign setup, but for me it was too much interruption of the campaign. Maybe the bird counter running in the background could solve the issue. I'm looking forward to the next video ^_^
@@minilutherundseinefreunde3802 Fair enough and no worries! I decided to focus on the 'birding' thing quite a bit more this video to show off the suffering as it where, but yeah its going to decrease in that sense moving forward (or at least in my current plans) Thanks for understanding and clarifying!
Indeed I did decide upon the consumption of some food, which I failed to edit out as it where due to my incompetence with audio. Unfortunately it was just some mashed potatoes.
I had to restart my Florence campaign (I started a war I didn't know I was incapable of wining (Venice for some reason can have 20 regiments without a penalty at the start, they wiped my entire army and I was too low on manpower to do much about it and my allies weren't fully competent enough to be trusted to save me). I decided to get a couple dlc's, leviathan (last time I got dlc's I also got origin so I figured I might as well get access to monuments, I also wanted to be able to use the favor system and more people online seem to say good things about the favor system from leviathan compared to the Cossacks) and the third rome (at some point I plan to try a wc/one Faith as Russia. Also it will help decently for all orthodox nations, plus it is arguably one of the most necessary for Byzantium however I plan on getting purple Phoenix and or king of kings before I have an attempt at Byzantium related achievements so I will have an actual chance to complete them), now with my current attempt as Florence I have a very good start (While the pope rivaled me from the start. I have Milan France hungry and Austria as allies (though soon I need to end my alliance with Milan). England didn't start there war with France (which means I should be safe from France invading Italy for at least a while). I was able to full annex ferrara. And when I declared on lucca I found out they were allies of ragusa. To prevent economic issues I had to separate peace ragusa so I'd also get there money. As a consequence I had to subjugate lucca to avoid a coalition, but I now have dalmatia as an opm subject to use for reconquest against Venice who I need to go to war with soon regardless)
Fun thing about early small wars. You can only stack wipe if you 2x outnumber the enemy at the end of the battle. But if you fail to do that, lets say 6,4k vs 3,4k and then you engage after the month tick (after chasing them over 1 province since its a small war) they'll have a shred of morale and a few more troops. So when you attack them again they'll retreat after 3 days of fighting due to low morale so they don't fight and don't take damage. So then you're still stuck with less than a 2x advantage fighting NOTHING for 2 whole weeks just kicking rocks and then they get to shatter again and you repeat the cycle. And despite winning every fight handedly you can never finish them off and you're better off LETTING THEM RECOVER SO THEY ACTUALLY FIGHT YOU which is total BS. When I said fun in the beginning I meant absolutely infuriating BS.
I just started an ironman campaign as Florence to compare if it's much better than milian in terms of a starting situation. So far I can already see how much better of a start it is. While it still (at least in my case) requires a certain amount of rng to get going like I thought it would, it seems to require less rng than milian (though I believe that under the correct circumstances milian has decent potential. If milian gets the republic and gets a good enough setup. Milian can be quite powerful if it forms Sardinia-piedmont or Tuscany (whichever happens sooner). Then the other. and lastly forming two sicilies and then Italy, if the missions were done correctly then before you became Italy you have lots of provinces with permanent bonuses and several national bonuses that make your nation better in multiple ways)
@@LemonCake101 if you want to be technical. it's Milan conquering Florence then forming Tuscany, but after that I'd recommend forming Sardinia-piedmont (it's very close by and has some worthwhile bonuses after you get your free diplomat) or if you don't plan on staying catholic I'd recommend before that forming two sicilies so you can get a certain mission overwith that requires being the defender of the faith (you also get some free reform progress so it's helpful either way)
@@LemonCake101 i think I've figured out the best order of Italian formables to use for missions (the order changes depending on the religion you chose to use). 1 Tuscany or Sardinia-piedmont (as Milan. Naples. and savoy it's better to get the diplomat from Tuscany because it helps with ae management and diplomacy in general, as Florence you value the admin efficiency and potentially the national ideas). 2 Sardinia-piedmont or two sicilies (as Naples you value the admin efficiency and potentially the national ideas of Sardinia-piedmont. as savoy and Florence you go with two sicilies because that's all that remains, but as Milan it's for the defender of the faith mission to allow more religious options or you go Sardinia-piedmont for the same reasons as Naples). 3 two sicilies/Sardinia-piedmont (as Milan or any Italian opm you'd have to chose whatever remains eventually. if the third option is two sicilies your probably best staying catholic. if not then you should give up being the defender of the faith soon so your Sardinia-piedmont mission doesn't give you a bonus for being catholic, unless you planed to stay catholic in which case you don't need to stop being the defender of the faith)
