I always get chills when I hear people like Frank have such nice voices, and then they switch to such purely destructive harsh vocals, it's wonderful.

Suffocation brings back so many memories from being 16 when Effigy came out. When I first heard the album I couldn't believe what I heard...Amazing band that has stood the test of time!

The slower parts in death metal are like the same as the 'drop' in dubstep and other musics. They slow it down to get it into a tempo for the mosh pit. You will find many death metal songs do this, they will will pull a change of tempo and syncopation some point in the middle and this is where the mosh pit goes bonkers. You may be either too old or too young to have experienced this music when it debuted.

Don't get me wrong, the drumer is amazing, i was there and i was standing in the front row, but i really think Mike is the real Suffocation drummer. His attitude, style and presence is amazing. This was my first time seeing time and it was awesome but i would have liked them even more with Mike.

Mike Smith is my favorite Suffo drummer, but there has been so many talented guys behind the kit....

I remember being totally blown away when I bought this album. That same feeling doesn't happen much anymore for me. Suffocation rules.

this ain't hard rock me man, neither speed metal...this is death metal and its meant to be this way. those are of the most classic bands out there and they just kick ass! tons and tons of death metal singers were inspired by Frank's voice and he pioneered this specific type of vocals together with other bands in the early 90s late 80s.

forget about Doug Cerrito, he's now an engineer and he declined to rejoin Suffocation in 2002.

I dont always listen to death metal, but when I do, I prefer Suffocation.

@LHondrums It´s not a "new" drmmuer indeed. It´s Dave Culross that rejoined the band, he recorded "Despise the Sun EP" years ago. He´s a Death Metal legendary drummer too, recorded many classic albuns in several bands like Gorgasm, Malevolent Creation etc.

Double triggering and false triggering, new drummer should resolve this by playing with Axis with Ekits, I Got the same problem at the moment of playing with DDRUM triggers, then I changed to Axis with Ekits and all problems were solved, perfect triggering
