As I discover more and more of this amazing artist, it's songs like these that make him so interesting and alluring. The lyrics, arrangements, harmony, creativity are so unique. Love it.
When this track came out on the Showtime show ‘Sleeper Cell,’ I was in college working at a local magazine. Their marketing group sent me a review kit to publish a review of the soundtrack for the show. I remember being moved by the sound when I first listened to it and had it on repeat for quite a few days. It got a good review.
It's Shara Nova, she provides backing on a lot of Sufjan songs, most notably on Age of Adz. She looks like she's having so much fun in this performance.
Too bad there’s about 50 seconds of beautiful string sounds at the end (that is not at the end of the album cut) that you can’t hear sufficiently because of all the clapping. So, thanks audience.
