I love this song because anyone can relate to it if they have ever been bullied or just felt different to anyone else. It just goes to show how much people can draw from their experiences and write a song about it. I love them for showing that its ok to be different and that you shouldnt care. LOVE THE SONG!!!!
This song is fantastic - it makes you feel stronger as a person than those stupid, good-fo-nothing, heartless idiots who call others ugly. People who do that are ugly themselves in the head!
It's so true. I think it's putting such a beautiful message across and I think it's definitely going to help tons of people come out of their shell :-)
yeah me too!but this song all ways makes me feel better! when someone teases me about my weight i sing this song in my head and it makes me feel better!
very positive song, and great for teens especially. maybe they each had it rough in their own ways when they were young, like the song says, but you have to agree, its easier to sing that song when your as attractive as they are.
it means that people look at somebody's personality, how they react to things, what there name is, because sometimes when you hear a name you it may remind you of someone. ect. :)
I thought the same thing when I first heard about this group. They're two different groups... The group that Stayce and Kimiko were apart of were from America and they only had one song before it just became Stayce and Kimiko.
this is how my school life works: i go to school/ everyyear im the kid that get the problem of people that make fun of me its not right i think they act like preschoolers- they bump into me then they say omg matt germs or some crap like that rumors always get me, it really frustrates me ):
One of the lines in this song is 'we only get judged by what we do'. However, due to the way they market themselves, unfortunately, Sugarbabes are more often judged by the size of their cleavage.
notice the girl singing the song is beautiful, but I love the message in the song..it's almost like Xstina song Beautiful. I heard Stacye and Kimiko were part of Sugarbabes but I never see them unless this is a modern version.
I am not the school bully; I'm 19, I don't go to school anymore, (which in itself is a long horrible story). I WAS the bullied. School was a living hell for me because I have Asperger's Syndrome, and I know the meaning of this song better than you could EVER know it.
Hat to burst your bubbles but: People are NOT the same We rarely get judged by what we do, So what if my personality reflects me, By prejudice everyone sees you. I like the song, very fantasy like. :)
people say "hello strange girl that has just appeared next to me in my bed. what lovely hair you have." before she kills them. derrrr! i dont go to bet that early anyway? will she turn up in the bath?
This song is fantastic, but over everything, Mutya is astonishing, unforgettable in this video. And one last thing, Amelle should not sing this song at all. It's not doing her any favour.
Yes, I do get the point of the whole song, that doesn't mean I can't have a negative opinion of one of them. That whole part is badly written; it's one of those things that turns me off a whole song. Everything else is really lovely, but her part not only uses the English language in a way I dislike (everybody talks bad about somebody, eugh), but is also untrue; envy ISN'T the only thing it could be. And she replaced what in my opinion was the best member of the group before.
The song is great melody is beautiful and production is gorgeous, as are the girls, but don't you think the 'message' would 'pack more of a punch if the girls didn't flout their admitted gorgeousness and sexuality, on this and every other occasion, just to sell some records! ) - For example, they could have done this in tracksuits and no make-up!
I suppose it was just all the little things put together. I could forgive just one and look over it, but the same word is used to rhyme, all of it's been said before and using better English; I just feel it's not creative in the least, and because the rest of the song is so lovely it stings whenever I hear it. I guess it just upsets me a bit. But each to their own, of course. I know some people would like it and I don't hold that against them. (Sorry for splitting it into two posts again.)
Hate to go on about the same thing, but Sugarbabes play to the 'sexist' media and society and are 'judged' by their figures, something they and their publicists are well aware of. For example, the 'replacement' for Mutya was judged on her suitabitity for the job largely due to her figure and cleavage.
True the singers have perfect bodies. But maybe once in thier lifetime they were not like this and must have undergone similar nasty experiences of discrimination. Now its a bit different and better for them because they are celebs, hence they get much more respect. On the other hand, its not always cool for celebs/superheroes because despite thier "perfections" they get other insults and even worse, racist remarks, an example being Thiery Henry amongst many others
I know, and granted my first post was far too aggressive but I was having a bad day and hadn't heard this song in a while. I listened and as I heard her part I just cringed; it really ruined the song for me. I don't mind other people liking it, I was just stating that personally it put a bad taste in my mouth and turned me off the song. I just think when hearing it that it's not only repetitive and therefore redundant, but because of that it sounds like she just made it up on the spot.
thats not the message at all, the message is PEOPLE ARE ALL THE SAME. So if that persons ugly so are you, if that persons beautiful so are you. Everyone is the same, we are all human.
Er, we kinda already had. I hope your comment doesn't get her attention again and make her start up another argument. orz Sorry though... I know I shouldn't get over-emotional, but it's hard not to when someone targets you like that...and then just...won't...stop... ._.;;;
wow, there is some stupid conversation going on here. im not saying im the best BUT- people are not the same: some people are dumb and some smart. black, white, anywhere in-between. ugly, cute, hot. pale, tan. everyone is different thats why people are interesting, but no one is better than anyone else.
I really hope you don't seriously think you understand this song, because in two comments you've proven you have no idea what message they're trying to get across. The difference between you and me, is that I wouldn't call you an ugly person for it. I forgive you... Even though you've got a damn nerve saying *I* don't get the meaning of this song, acting as though you do, and then treating me EXACTLY as they're trying to say is wrong.
You can't have it both ways. If you want people to be nice to you, try acting nice yourself, instead of suddnly starting fights and insulting people over a website just because they don't like part of a song you do. You can't go around accusing people of being bullies and hating them when you're doing the same thing to others. It's a shame, really; maybe in another place, another time, we could have been friends... Please, just leave me alone now.
The only reason I have the "worst attitude" is because I dislike a part of a song you like. Well, I stand by my opinion; the rest is fine, but the blonde's part uses poor English Language skills and misinforms people. I could forgive the bit at the beginning about her parents telling her when she was young it was envy, but repeating it over is wrong, as I know for a fact it's not always envy. That's my opnion. If you don't like it, here's a tip: DON'T COMMENT ON IT. Just let it go, you bully.
