If you’re talking about sugar apple then the best time to prune it is after cold weather when it’s already dried out and dropped most of the leaves and it looks like it’s dead (which is now in Florida). U can trim back the thing stems so the new leaves can shoot out. Sugar apple doesn’t need another tree to fruit since it have male and female flowers. The Beatle bugs are the one that does the pollination but u can’t rely on it and it took years for me to learn that and many people too. U have to manually pollinate by hand. Commercial growers have to do that too
