Lol omg the beginning of the video was so confusing 😂 I didn’t realize you were in a tent with them and it looked like they were hanging in mid air 😂 (cause you can’t see the mesh in the video. Then I saw the sides of the tent and was like ohh it’s the tent, okay.. whew, I’m not going crazy 😆

Bummer I will miss the actual premiere however I can’t wait to watch to see how it goes. I Have been wondering how long before introductions would be made. Growing a colony is exciting!!

Also I just wanted to add.. I’m in the camp of “just letting them work it out among themselves without interference”. I have 7 ferrets and each intro was always like this. Fighting, dominance, etc. As long as there was no poop/pee/or blood I wouldn’t interfere (and believe me, it’s tough not to). But it quickens the bonding process for sure! Animals, especially social ones that live in groups.. will always go through this dominance transition to work out the hierarchy. But the less interference, the better, because it just prolongs the intros. But great job! I’m so happy for Peka!

This introduction is stressing me out! 😬😳😢😂 I am really rooting for them to get along. I already wish I would have gotten 3 instead of 2, so this is super interesting to me. I’m not sure if I could handle the fights (without intervening). Call me Helicopter mom. Haha.

I have two babies of my own, working on introductions but i was wanting your opinion on a question i have. one of my gliders are completely bonded to me, the other i just got about a month ago and he is starting to bond very quickly with me. Would you recommend starting to introduce my two if my boy isnt completely bonded to me yet or should i wait a bit longer until he is bonded with me more? thanks in advance :)

I dont know if it would interfere with their ferimonez but it migt be helpful if you put a drop of beat juice or strawberry juice on the new glider so we can tell the difference if we're not familiar

I dont know if you will see my other comment or not so ill tell you again. I am in the same situation with a glider I took on as a rescue pretty much. I payed for him but only to get him out of the situation he was in and give him a good home. I think the lady was some kind of breeder gone bad or just ended up with a lot of them i dont know? Anyways he is so so terrified. Ive had him for about a month now and he is so so pouch protective. I cant even walk by it without lots of crabbing. He is also terrified of hands (thinking he was abused). He will climb all over us now and even is trying to scent mark but anytime we raise our hands to pet him or touch him he crabs and runs away. So im now trying to associate hands with something positive every time. I do a little each night by feeding him some meal worms by hand before he wakes up so i can put my hand in the pouch to also help with the pouch crabbing. He still crabs and lunges but then will make his squeeky happy sounds eating them. We still have a long way to go. I am so happy for your videos and being able to relate and can also get some good ideas and tips because i need all the help i can get too. Is there another way to contact you? I would love to talk with you and share similar problems and questions. I have been on some forums but no one seems to be using them. I dont personally know any other sugar glider parents so its hard for me when i have questions i wish someone could help with or discuss. I have 12 female that I raised in different cage but I want all of them together so I put them in and for two weeks no fighting,but now at night some really fight bad and hurt one really bad I take the one fighting out and the next night I a new one fighting .HELP

Lol okay so you have confirmed for me that the younger and small girl momo I have keeps trying to dominate my intact male appa. lol apparently her mom was the same way, and that explains the barking during a few nights with appa hiding behind his whell well momo stands guard around the pouch XD

How are your gliders so active during the day? Mine only play at night, as soon as they see the light they run to their pouch of choice and go straight to sleep.

I am a recent owner to a female and a male Henry and Lily and now my existing two males Rocky and Bullwinkle are fighting. Can I get any advice what should I do should I separate them cuz to me it looks like Bullwinkle's trying to mate with Rocky but they are two males so they are fighting any advice. And my new female and male my female has two Joey's in her pouch

I think you said it got worse at the end? My dog and cat hated each other in the beginning. We introduced them by having them eat in front of each other with a gate between them. Once they got comfortable, we moved the gate. Every time they were around each other, we created a positive experience by giving them treats. It worked very well. Maybe give them treats when they are all together so that they will associate something positive with each other's company. If they are nipping and chasing each other, it could create a negative experience with each other's company. Just some of my thoughts. 🤗 I think you are on the right track though. It seems like Pika needs a lot of patience!

Hello I recently introduced a female sugar glider to a cage with my male sugar glider who was alone before. she seems to like to get on top of him and groom him pretty aggressively and not let him go , and nibble at his ears a tiny bit, is this normal behavior or something to worry about? he is neutered . At one point he closed his eyes and stopped trying to resist but I’m not sure if it was him getting beat up or enjoying it. Any insight greatly helps thank you

I was adopted a joey male 1.5 months old. And Im trying to put my joey boy with a couple suggies 4 months old (boy and girl). At first time they met. The big boy angry so much, and still fierce until now. They are living in different cage now. I hope they can be a colonie and success put them together like yours. Keep trying.. wish me luck.

Hi. I bought a neutered male from pocket pets 1.5 years ago. I didn’t know anything about sugar gliders at the time and they told me I could just have 1. After getting my boy and researching I really wanted to get him a friend. Life got crazy so I didn’t get another right away. We play with him all the time and I would say he’s somewhat bonded. We can easily pet/hold him, never crabs at us, etc but if we let him roam he will run when we try to get him back to his cage. Anyway, last week we got a 10 week old girl glider. I have her in a cage right next to his. Today we did a tent introduction. He kept pinning her down and biting but neither were making any noises so we weren’t sure if this was more like grooming or if her was actually trying to hurt her. If they were really fighting the would hiss at each other right?

I'm a new owner, I have to females that are older around (2.5 yrs)they have always been together though. I just recently got a set of brother Joey's they aren't fully mature yet, I've had their cages next to each other for about a week. One of my females has been curious...I'm not sure if I should introduce them one at a time to the girls or both at the same time. Please help!!
