She has such a distinctive voice. In the mid 2000s I was at Scarborough Towne Centre for a movie and she was in the front and I heard that distinctive voice and I knew that Sugar was in the theatre lol
I remember watching this segment live when it came out. There was big hype for who was gonna be the new host, and we got sugar and she was awesome. 20 years ago now man time flies.
My aunt used to say she was faking that voice but I guess like Gilbert Gottfried it just one of those neat things when a person’s de facto voice isn’t too far off. Though, I still think her ‘Rini Moon’ voice was at least partially following the cadences of voice acting and not entirely her organic self.

LOL I remember being really confused by her voice when I first saw her on YTV. She looked like a 2nd year or 3rd year university student/intern but her voice sounded like that of an elementary school girl.
29 would be Much Music and 52 would be MTV. I don't remember Family channel. Teletoon is on 48. YTV is now 65 instead of 25. Do you remember other kid or nostalgic channels?
I remember listening to her all the time on Kiss92 Toronto radio station which I listened to after school everyday in the early 2000s. It's still hard to believe that's her real voice.
I can to Canada in the year 2001 from the mother land, and watch Ytv everyday at 4:00pm after school was how I learned my English, and Suger was alway's a fine thang.
On this very same day, PJ Stephanie returned from her long absence (having lost her companion Snit, who was killed in YTV's battle against the Yokomites) and announced sweeping changes coming to the network, including her new weekend morning block Vortex (which debuted the following Saturday), and also brought in the crate that Pat had locked himself in, telling him that the execs had hired a new co-host to replace Jenny on The Zone - it was once speculated that Cara diLizia of _So Weird_ fame would become Pat's new co-host, but this ultimately did not come to fruition, and it ended up going to Sugar instead (she had the same first name as Stephanie, thus they required her to have such a nickname).
Man I remember when I was a 12 year old boy I had a crush on her, but after she left the zone it stung me a little. I think it's because she made the zone feel more alive and fun for us viewers back in our childhood. Sugar we thank you for bringing life to the zone 2001-2007.

I just watched Sugar narrate an episode of 'Drunk History' and it was pretty much the best thing ever. Sugar if you ever look up these old videos you're amazing and we all love you and hope you're doing well
Omg sugar was my major crush back then. I feel so silly cause it was so long ago. She was so short and that voice of hers was golden lol. We couldnt believe it was real back then.
I always a had a memory of pat quitting halfway through a segment and they filmed it and aired it. Don’t know if my child brain was screwing with me or not
I did not know that actress Sugar Lynn Beard was born in Canada. I wasn’t born in Canada but I was born in America She looks so beautiful as a host of the Zone. 😀👩🏻
