Michelle, your videos are such top quality! The editing is amazing! The amount of effort you put into your videos is sooo commendable.. the color coding, the side by side routines.. I mean god knows filming CGM routines is tough as it is.. I mean hello, gotta film all that shampooing, conditioning while getting clothes messy (extra laundry!) but also analysing the ingredient list and condensing the information for a lay person.. uff.. I couldn’t be more grateful to you. My cgm journey started with you, and I have learnt soooo much! You make a great teacher! 😍 Great video, Michelle! Btw, would you recommend using a silicone brush for wet detangling? For me - combing led to a lot of breakage, and so did finger detangling. But a sillicone brush really helped!

I love the cleansing shampoo, worked so well for my hair. And the curl cream is pretty good too. Not too heavy, not too light.

NOW I understand why I liked this range. I haven't tried the shampoo yet but I've tried the conditioner, Leave-in, gel and cream. I quite liked the conditioner and leave-in conditioner. I also liked the gel but it reminded me of northwish custard (idk why maybe because they are both soft hold). Conditioner is my favourite of all because of the slip and very good for finger detangling which I do. Interestingly, the cream was my least favourite cause I found it a tad heavy. My waves got flat using it and I think it's also because it doesn't have much protein so hair got over-moisturized. As you know michelle I LOVE light products that's why I picked up the travel sizes of this range.

The curl defining cream is slightly lighter than the leave in conditioner. Should be a good fit for your hair. I would strongly advice you to try some protein free washdays. Protein overload catches up on you after 6 months even if your hair enjoys it initially. The leave in conditioner gives you a little more shrinkage and so based on your other comments i see why you like it. I'd advise you to try it a few more times before reaching a conclusion

This video is a saviour for me! I am about to start my wavy hair journey .My hair tends to weigh down after conditioning or masks so i usually avoid them and just apply hair serum. Sugarboo curls conditioners and cream seems to be choice for me. A question tho! Is it okay if we skip using gel ?

You know what though? Do shampoo + conditioner For styling is only gel. Skip leave in. It might work for you. Let me know what happens. If it doesn't work I'll advise further. I have a feeling it will though.

Hey Michelle, every video of yours is so detailed and to the point. I love every second of it. Thank you so much for giving so much efforts. I've had this query for so long. After washing hair, styling them, drying them now what??? Like how do I go about my day, do i let braid them, make a bun or just simply let them open. Hey Michelle, I love watching your videos, even though I don't have curly hair.. I would like you to please recommend any conditioner or leave in conditioner to prevent breakage for straight hair...i can't find any suitable videos in that... A soft hold gel will mean that your curls open up in a day or two max. If you're having trouble sotcing use an oil.

Check out the ingredient section. If there's no protein in the top 5, it's a moisture product. I product is not called a protein moisture balance product because protein moisture balance is an act individualized to each person's hair needs.

There could be so many things going wrong here. The products only work on naturally wavy or curly hair. It won't make straight hair curly. The amount of product used, styling technique, how wet your hair was when you started styling, your method of drying. Access where you may have gone wrong.

Because some products & techniques give you more shrinkage and some give you less shrinkage. The weather and everything you do in your routine makes a difference. It's very hard to get consistency in results in wavy hair. I can personally tell you that my hair has never looked the same twice. There's always been a difference.

This is the sugarboo video love. There's a curl cream and a leave in. If my memory serves me, one is protein free and one has protein as the second last ingredient. Are you mistaken by any chance & actually meaning to ask* about northwish leave in?

On my hair it hasn't caused a problem yet. Because the protein is lower down on the list. Not sure if it's too much protein for your hair. Clarify every few weeks. Some people are extremely sensitive to protein. Some people don't seem to have a problem at all.

I don't think you'll need both. Are you talking about layering one on top of the other? If so, don't do that. The curl defining cream should be good enough. The gel is very moisturising so even if you use the gel alone, it might be enough for you. End with an oil when you sotc to get more hold.

I have low porosity hair and I can't use 2 leave-in products, the hair just refuses to absorb so much product and the extra product just sits on top of the hair and makes raindrops. I usually use curl cream only, or gel or mousse only.

can you please recommend me shampoo for sensitive scalp? i have tried the moms co. shampoo its good but i have low porosity 2b 2c hair it easily gets buildup and is hard to clean and i have also tried curl up shampoo its really hard on my scalp because of it i can't even move my hair from one place to another, my scalp hurts to extent that i can't even use a scrunchy for 10 min. on my hair. can you please recommend me some shampoo for sensitive scalp?

This is a tough one. A very tough one to answer. Cleansing shampoos would remove buildup but would cause some scalp due to over-cleansing. The curl up shampoo does seem to trigger this. Shampoos like northwish and true frog do a great job of cleansing without stripping the scalp. Gentle shampoos which might be best suited to a sensitive scalp would not remove buildup. A clarifying shampoo would. So maybe use a cleansing shampoo. Use a scalp friendly conditioner/cowash or oil on your scalp as a prepoo. Or better yet, speak to a doctor and get yourself something medicated. Stop CGM for a few weeks. Switch to a dermatologist recommended shampoo and ask your doctor if your scalp is inflamed or is displaying signs of dermatitis. Pain while using a scrunch is an indication of dermatitis. Once you fix the issue, switch to a cleansing shampoo and clarifying shampoo. Alternative between the two
