We rode the San Juan Trail from Blue Jay campground down. Along the way, we stashed our bikes and hiked up the Old Sugarloaf Peak trail and then activated the summit with two operators. Bill, N6MTB started on 20 meters SSB and I (KM6ZPO) started on 2 meters FM. I made three summit to summit calls and several others reaching far into North Orange County and Long Beach with many 5/9 reports. We switched off and I made two contacts on HF: one in Texas and the other in Wyoming. Truly an EPIC adventure!
