It's a Suhr Modern. I think that's why Guthrie ultimately left Suhr. Because they wouldn't let him change much of the guitar, he could just customize colors and wood and they slapped his name on a Suhr Modern. Charvel was much more open to all the things Guthrie wanted.

no i think it's because he got money from Charvel (Fender). As a stunt guitarist, he needs money from wherever he can find it

Suhr dropped the ball I suspect with GG, though I like everyone else have no idea what went on behind the scenes... I suspect they weren‘t able to pay him his fair due for the endorsement. But hey, instead of one great signature guitar now we have two (the charvel GG)

Suhr will build you anything you want. The ability to have the guitar built to your specifications is what sets them apart. Ibanez won't build a custom guitar for you unless you're famous enough to have a signature model.

Different league in tone though, don‘t get me wrong the az‘s are brilliant, I love the 2402 in particular and the Koa Reb beach model‘s awesome. The Suhrs are the ultra-professional instrument though, they‘re in a category all of their own hence the price imo.

Neth BT thats exactly why theyre priced where they are. Because they’re better. Have much tighter QC and attention to detail. That takes time which costs.

AH silver regardless of what the preference is, the fact is the reason that it costs more is due to the price of timber, again the qc and the tolerances go into it, whether you feel its a better guitar or not is void, its just the fact that it takes more time and more costly materials. But I agree snobbery can play in. Ive played PRS’s that were definetely not worth the $3500 they were asking, then some of them lived up to the hype.

@@flamingmanure Not really, It's like comparing a Toyota to a Bentley, or a line 6 spider amp to a Marshall. At the end of the day, you can have whatever preferences you want, but there's not really any single aspect of a fender guitar that is better than a Suhr. They're designed for absolute ultra comfort and playability and are made with insane attention to detail. Everything about them is made to feel perfect. They are damn expensive and I personally wouldn't pay that kind of money but I see why someone would. Gibson and fender are the ones who will put an insane price tag on a 50 year old guitar with outdated features and below par playability because it's "Antique"...THAT'S snobbery!
