Actually like The Cleansing, No Time To Bleed and The Black Crown a lot. YCSM is fine, but it seem like they're a little softer, they don't sound too brutal, as they used too.

Lewisk8 Exactly. Just to put a silly example in. In LoL aka League of Legends, it's always the junglers fault. Never the team itself. I think Eddie is fine, he has his own style, techniques and unique voice. He isn't Mitch, which i'm very happy with. He is a entirely different person, he just did us, the fans and his best friend a favor, which we all should be very pleased with. He abondend ASP for Suicide Silence and Mitch, a very close friend. Don't overlook the fact that he had, and still has an incredible amount of pressure. And what do i mean with pressure? He had and still has to adapt to a new type of lyricall content. So blaming everything on Eddie, is not fair at all. He left ASP for Suicide Silence, for Mitch. He got SS to continue their legacy. SS even told a magazine that, if it wouldn't had been for Eddie there'd be no more SS. He has stepped into some pretty god damn big shoes, and i think he deserves better compared to how the fan girls of M.A.L. and the SS fans has treated him. So what i've got to say is: "Open your mind before your mouth". P.S. This is not a comment directed towards you "Lewisk8", it is a comment for those who'll be reading this comment section.

depends on how you cup. depending on how close your mouth is to the microphone, and how much your hand covers it, it can just ruin the sound completely by adding way too much low range making it have way too much bass, i'll say, never cup over half of the mic. and in live performances, try your best not to cup, it's best to leave that in the studio recordings where you can get the perfect sound by experimentin.

when cupping, you kinda turn an cardiod mic into an omidirectional . in a live setting this can create an unwanted feedback loop with the monitor speaker. directional pressure gradient microphones are build in a way that the sound has a delay before it hits the the mechanical components in the mic which turn the sound into an electrical signal. when the delay sound mixes with the undelayed sound, it cancel themselves out cause mathematical speaking, it is shifted180° in phase compared to the original sound. using this effect with engeneering, u can build an directional mic. when cupping your hand acts as another delay so you cancel the build in delay in the microphone out, thus turning it into an omnidirectional.

u don't get it. cupping won't stop feedback. it is the exact opposite. in a live setting cupping will provoke feedback

Well, what he's doing there is actually genius, because cupping the mic ruins the sound of it, but doing what he's doing here is basically extending his throat, giving more material to create a tubular, guttural resonance.
