This comment is a home run. To me this is the major factor. Anyone that is trying to say act man was harassing or bullying doesn't know the context of that he got doxxed because of a bad elden ring hot takes video. Act man made numerous videos reacting to hot takes that others made on video games. Never did someone go and doxx his family because of it until now.

The most bizzare part is why they left Quantum of the hook when Act compiled evidence of Quantum being a doxxer, homophobic and ban dodger. In the past RU-vid has left other channels off the hook for equally or worse situations (like Logan Paul showing a body of a suicide victim back in 2018) but it kinda made a fucked up sense because all the channels they defend when they shit the bed are all _whales:_ channles with millions of viewers that bring in $$$ so they don't do anything about it. But Quantum? he's just in the 10k's and his videos barely reach the numbers of subscribers he has. I'm not saying that big channels should be scott free, rules should apply to everyone but like I said it kinda makes sense to defend a whale because of monetary interest. Why "stan" for Quantum when he's not a whale and when there's clear evidence of he being an absolute asshole?

@@Xfushion2 because Tickled TV covered his tracks extremely well. Anytime something was brought to light he would delete it and remove it from the internet. Everytime Review Tech USA uncovered something during a livestream or video that QTV uploaded or posted it would be gone within a day. I have a feeling RU-vid went to review evidence but since posts/videos are deleted they have nothing to put 2 and 2 together. No action was taken. Nobody at RU-vid follow QTV but they do follow Act Man. RU-vid just isn't seeing the full picture and they're too "busy" to f**king be bothered with it.

I don't think Act Man was wrong per se to post those tweets, but they certainly didn't help his case and it wasn't the smartest move to make. He kinda shot himself in the foot with that one imo.

Getting rid of section 230 protections wholesale would be apocalyptic for the platform. The sheer volume of lawsuits thrown towards Google for people putting up content violating laws on RU-vid would outright bankrupt them. Section 230 only means that the platform cannot be directly sued for content uploaded by users that violate federal or state laws, the user has to be targeted directly.

@@avengeddisciple And sadly, that's the point. Since RU-vid is allowing Copyright abuse by bad-faith actors, they're basically signalling that it's an "anything goes" with regard to reaction content. Instead of taking care of the initial issue (Quantum TV and his multiple rule breaks, not to mention the ban evasion), RU-vid is now letting the worst of its creators dictate how things go in terms of how DMCA and Copyright issues on its platform. The only thing (seemingly) that can get them to change in to force their hand in some regard. Going after their Section 230 protections would not only signal to RU-vid that this was an incredibly bad idea on their part, but also signal to other platforms that things like this need to have proper rules and reactions needed in order to prevent them from sharing a similar fate. It REALLY sucks, but letting this issue drag on and continue to worsen is, in my view, bad for content creators and creations as a whole. Change is needed, and I hope what I proposed isn't what comes to pass, but it seems for change to happen, drastic measures are going to be needed to be taken

Quantum didn’t “sought out” the phone number of Act Man’s mom. Anytime RU-vid receives a counterclaim to a copyright strike, they disclose the contact and personal info of the counter-claimant (Act Man) to the original person that submitted a copyright claim (Quantum) so that they can decide whether they want to reach out and resolve the matter outside of court or use the info to properly serve the party with a lawsuit. At some point prior to this whole situation, Act Man attached both his cell phone number and his mom’s landline number to his RU-vid channel, which were both disclosed when he challenged Quantum’s copyright claims. TL;DR Act Man unintentionally gave Quantum his mom’s landline number as a contact number when he challenged Quantum’s copyright claim.

No it is not. That is not at all what irony is. I believe the turn of events you described would be best classified as "completely expected". Irony, noun: A state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result. Example: The Act Man tries to come off as smart and in the right all the time, yet by his actions on twitter he seems to be something of a dullard.

If you look at youtube's history, you will see that they have always been bad at enforcing their own rules, I can give examples if you would like.

Act Man deserves to be outright banned for “jokingly” threatening to doxx RU-vid employees, but they instead opted to merely demonetize his channel. And no, Quantum did NOT doxx Act Man nor his family. When Act Man disputed the copyright claims, his personal info got sent to Quantum (which is the standard procedure on RU-vid) so that Quantum could either reach out to Act Man to resolve the matter outside of court or use the info to properly serve Act Man a lawsuit and name him as the defendant without needing to subpoena RU-vid for that info. And guess what? When Act Man signed up for RU-vid, the two phone numbers he attached to his account were his cell phone number (which Quantum could not reach him with that number) AND his own mom’s landline number. So it’s a fact that Act Man only has himself to blame for attaching his mom’s landline number to his RU-vid account and unknowingly disclose that info when he disputed the copyright claim. At the end of the day, Act Man was pompous and arrogant to believe he had the power to get Quantum banned and countersue him to “clean [him] out.” Now that reality smacked him HARD upside the face, he’s scrambling to make up fake victimization narratives, like Anita Sarkeesian and Brianna Wu did, in order to try and keep the public thinking he’s somehow still the victim in all of this, and it’s _really_ pathetic at this point. Honestly we should influence the both to do exactly that, wouldn't it be detrimental to their precious self image? I mean since the most dislike video from RU-vid because we all know why that happened, to the dislike to this. Consequences are needed if RU-vid wants it's users to look at them the same way - that's how I feel 🙃and I'm sure most of us feel that way too

This is the one thing I have felt in the back of my neck from the get go. I do feel the ActMan has had to act at certain points because he had no other choice, even after offering diplomacy. But, drama is called drama for a reason and is designed to just breed more drama, and drama inherently functions to make a serious problem be engaged with in a non-serious light (which is not always a bad thing, even a positive, that is why we enjoys stories) such to the point that the nonchalant hysteria around the so-called problem brings the problem to new hights even if the drama intended to quell it in the first place. Then, you have drama that takes something that isn't a problem but by the end it allows it to turn into one because of all the bryproduct results of it. I don't really like when people act like they don't know where the escelation is coming from when we all know very well it is always - as is with the Internet - the drama. Drama can inadvertently make a serious situation even more serious because of its playwright/poetic nature, and yet at the same time seem fitting for any problen because there is something about it very natural to human being communication: a sense of gossip, voyeurism and just "Oh, this is just a show." Drama is good content, that's why people will produce it. But sometimes it's silly to think it can go with direct problems, or that it can't escelate into such. If our words provoke someone, we either have the choice to just deal with it off camera, or make a video about it. I don't always mind the latter because tbh it can be funny and some people are provoked for silly things, but you sometimes just never know where it ends from there once you pass that line, and I think it does get to a point where although you could attribute fault and an initial cause - maybe - to a single person, down the line it actually becomes very hard to absolve responsibility (not fault) from either party because at that point they have both done things to esculate the situation. I couldn't care if QTV specifically got terminated, but I do think that in a lot of cases the responsibility does not solely fall on one person for making the problem worse than it is - irrespective of if they really do deserved to have their channel terminated and are a stain on the community. It's very hard to not set a wide-follow precedent with these things, and although in QTV's case I couldn't care about that, it always makes me tilt my head a little to see how quickly people do turn to a side in the masses, I'm just that kind of person, I always think about how we could be missing something, and I am not one to act all as if the people in the good light have no responsibility or greater reason - though that doesn't invalidate the critique of QTV by any stretch. But that is just what happens. You want to be on this platform, or more specifically have a voice in its problems, you have to conform with the main voice of it - even of the drama.

Problem is youtube too big, and they have crushed a few similar platform already, the most similar one we had is twitch but its more of streaming platform, and they aldo had their own problem

Good luck with that one. RU-vid holds all the video laying territory under the sun, except the streaming badlands. Besides, I’m sure if another platform got big enough similar, or entirely different, problems would occur. It’s best to pour our resources and energy into fixing what we have instead birthing another monster, in my opinion.

I wish I could adjust the video quality on Rumble to save data. I wish I could have an audio only option on RU-vid, which Rumble has.

The thing is they very likely did know the context. They must have been fully aware it was a joke but used it against him because they clearly don't like what he is doing. This wasint a mistake it was them looking for anything to use against him.

I agree. However that kind of thing can be very expensive, and because act man has had his source of income taken away, it might be a risky move to make financially. I'm no expert though so perhaps I'm wrong about that...

I'm sure patreon would help him to hire a detective and for the court costs. Police reports should be free. He said he was willing to sue them, and generally lawyers allow for free first consultations.
