Sullington Art Exhibition and rural St Mary's Church

The Sullington Art exhibition is held in a 16th century barn with a café, (which we didn't visit today) and features local artists exhibiting ceramics, wood work, paintings & jewellery. As well as visiting the barn we also went to look at the Church of St Mary's but sadly it was closed. I hope you'll enjoy looking around with us.

Oh yes David, it's really lovely but we have yet to find it open. It's so sad when churches are closed up in the daytimes; I can understand they close in the evenings and overnight, but people want to visit, it's sad. Thank you so much for watching 🥰 I'm glad you enjoyed it David

Oh, a barn filled with old tractors! Reminds me of my sister's Dorset barn. Nice art works, quite a creative community there. Isn't this the barn where the Gathering Lights singers gather periodically? Its a great space, for sure!

It's lovely there Andrew, you'd love it! The barn they sing at is behind in the Tithe barn, which is equally as beautiful. I love places like this which retain all the original machinery and features; just a shame the church is nearly always closed 🥲 Thanks for watching and leaving your comment, which I appreciate a lot 🥰

It is so sad when Churches have to be locked, but it is a sign of the times I suppose? Our Church in the village here is kept locked. What a wonderful building to have the art exhibition in. Blessings from a warm and sunny West Devon for a change, and from Jilly & Madge xxx

It really is sad Jilly, upsets me to think of the reasons why they have to close the doors 😪 Our Church is always open in the daytime and Ky and I go in most days, it's such a peaceful place to sit quietly and be in the moment. Oh yes, the barn is really amazing and it's kept immaculately. The café there is nice, but we'd already had a drink so didn't stop for our usual cuppa. Thank you so much for watching. I'm so pleased you and Madge have nice weather there like us, for a change. Blessings xx🥰

If we had had more time it would've been so lovely to meet up with you; we just stopped by on our way back from Amberley Castle (the previous video made there). I'll send you an e mail. It's so funny though, I did think it may have been you in the barn as the lady there told me she had two retrievers. It was then I saw her name badge and realised it wasn't you after all. I have never found that church open either though the view is always worth the visit! I had wondered if the cafe was open as I have never coincided with it being open but I see from your reply to another comment it was!

Quite right Jean, the views are gorgeous aren't they. I wish the Church had been open, it's such a shame when they are closed. The café opens on certain days which I think are Thursday to Sunday, it's nice, you can sit inside or out, at the back. Thanks for watching and leaving your comment 🥰
