We had a lovely walk to see the heather at Iping Common near Midhurst before heading to visit The Makers Barn where we've not been before.
The Makers Barn is in Petworth and is a treasure trove of traditional crafted products and brain child of coppicer Rosie Rendell. Located in a beautiful barn championing the work of over 40 rural craftspeople. There were so many wonderful things I could have bought, and have some on my Christmas gift list already! I loved the pottery especially, but it was all very beautiful.

I knew you'd enjoy this one Ian, the barn is really interesting isn't it. I can't wait to go again and pick up some pressies at Christmas time and Rosie said she plans to decorate it up specially for Christmas so will be even more lovely 🥰 Thank you for watching Ian

Hi Lynn Richard and Ky well Ky could not wait till go through the gate and off he went coursing the woods and the Heather , how beautiful it is this time of the year. Oh yes Fiona, the heather was so beautiful, I love mauve flowers don't you. The barn, which we have not been to before was really interesting with an array of beautiful hand made crafts. I'm definitely going back again for some presents for Christmas time. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I hope you are having a lovely weekend Fiona. I love Iping and Stedham and it is looking splendid with the heather in bloom. I was lucky enough to manage to walk there from Midhurst when I was in better health. Not seen the Makers barn before. It looks out in the countryside.

It's about half an hour walk from Petworth House off a turning on Horsham Road Jean, well worth a visit. The common was a lovely walk although we didn't walk for long as hoping to go with Kevin, Cynthia and Steve for a longer walk there again one day @KevinsRambles It really was so pretty Jean with all that heather bursting with colour 💜 Thank you for watching 🥰

Many years ago, my ex husband and I did the craft fair at Petworth, selling Nick's wonderful wooden items - it was a huge affair, and I loved it! My ex is Nicholas Chandler, furniture maker, who now lives in Spain with his Spanish wife - you can view his wonderful furniture on his website. Ky is so full of energy, that it is like letting a spring loose when you opened that gate for him to run through! So good that you take water for him wherever you go. Love all the arts and craft for sale of course - love all crafts. Wish I still had a shop, but the rates are too high for me now to afford. I must get pottery painting again, as I have not used my little kiln for about 2 years now! Love to you, Jilly & Madge, from a hot West Devon, England. xxx

That must have been amazing to have your own shop selling your wares Jilly and yes, I'll check out Nicholas' furniture online. I do hope you will be able to get working at your kiln again. I really love items made from pottery and have some lovely mugs; I can rarely resist buying a new one. Thank you so much for watching.
