When Sultan Mustafa II came to the throne, he forbade pleasure, pleasure and comfort, and informed the statesmen that he wanted to go on an expedition at the head of the army, just like his great ancestor, Suleiman the Magnificent. However, the statesmen said that it would require a great expense for the sultan to go on an expedition himself, and that it would be more appropriate to send a serdar to the expedition. Sultan Mustafa opposed this idea of the statesmen and said:
“I don't need weight and treasure! I will eat dry bread if necessary. I sacrifice my body for the sake of religion. I tolerate all kinds of difficulties. "I will not return from the expedition until my service in the way of Allah is completed. Of course, I will go there myself."
