It's unfortunately the huge flaw sonic's optimal strategy has. Awful disadvantage and great advantage. I main him and try not to camp but approaching as sonic comes down to two things: 1.) Can you mix up with enough dash dancing and u-air fastfalls against shield?, 2.) Can you mix up spindash and utilize spindash with platforms well?. In both cases sonic doesn't really have anything safe on shield and spindash is easy to at least trade and worst cases beat spindash out. Doesn't help most sonics I have seen are too predictable with spindash too. Combining that leads to sonic struggling to take a stock if they didn't get the kill confirms at the right percent. Characters with disjointed or large fast hitboxes are even better at this; corrin for instance is good at dealing with sonic since they pretty much shutdown all sonic's approaches.

Sonic doesn't have very spammable neutral moves in the first place. So obviously he isn't going to rush in like people think he can. Really his Spin Dash or Spin Charge is the safest move because it moves fast, not that it doesn't have lag. The way Fox pressures is what people think Sonic should be like if he's aggressive but he just isn't, in actuality.

well, when you only practice getting damage and getting out, it’s pretty hard to make a comeback. Sonic matchup always feels like whoever has the 20% lead is gonna win the game.

People love to say how much variety Ultimate has, but I have seen "X vs Y is the most boring MU in the entire game" for literally every top tournament for the last year. ...It's almost like this game isn't meant to be enjoyed, only tolerated. Good luck finding a top eight where Sonic, Steve, GnW, Pac Man, Snake, Cloud, Min Min, or Aegis aren't turning every matchup into a mashing or camping tournament.

The game's still fun (with the exception of Steve), but Sonic/Pacman really is an extremely boring matchup to watch.

@@treycurethey shitass, sonic and pac man are known to be campy characters. Sonic has spin dash and Pac-Man has his fruits + hydrant. Stop being a little bitch and acknowledge most MU’s don’t endup like this. GnW and aegis runs at their opponents, these two characters we see on screen don’t.

Sonic vs the roster in general is pretty much boring as hell DDee sonix was a highlight tho

@@janswhatsupdocit’s not that he chooses to be lame, Sonics playstyle is just so lame and it’s the character that he practices the most. You’re gonna be adapted to the playstyle of the character you play the most and Ken’s character he plays the most is Sonic.
