in this video, I will test and review Sumeike .5 slingshot bands.
I will test the draw weight at 30 inches with maxed out bands.
Penatration test on a soup can.
Speed test through a chrony!
All tests will be done with 8mm and 9.5mm steel ammo.
you can find sumeike bands almost everywhere. GZK, slingshooting.com to name a couple.

They are good. I got some good life out of this set, too, for maxed out bands. I stopped useing them a while back because I was having wierd breaks. But I was shooting in cold weather. Like -15c+ degrees. Could have been that.

I'm learning so much! Thank you! I'm able to have more consistent practice shots from incredibly close. Right after I saw you show what to look for....I found a good oak fork and made a slingshot. I have a week wrist, but I think I can strengthen it with correct form. Sorry this is long. I appreciate you so much. Keep doing what you do. You're the best!

Hey "compadre" regards from Mexico! 🤠🤠 Excellent video and excellent channel, you always are my go-to when I have any kind of doubt buddy 🤙🏽 A question about sumeike bands: I use .6mm band for 5/16 ammo, it works good but I saw this video and I looked that you use 8mm and 9.5mm for .5mm band... Have you ever use the .6mm sumeike band? Which do you think is the best ammo for this band? Cheers Buddy! You're the best! Saludos desde México! 🤠🤙🏽🇲🇽

Great video! I always enjoy watching, very informative. I have Sumeike anti cold in .55. Do you have an idea what taper would get the same ish speeds as you got with the .5. Would something like 22-15 work? Ikn there’s a lot of variables.

Actually Sumeike are some of my favorite bands. Especially the .45 and .6 The .6 are heavier than most and give amazing feedback. My only problem is, that they lack a little bit of longevity. Not terrible, but I still switched to BSB White, which I think are overall the best band. You should definitely try those two. I bet you'll like em.

Bsb white .5 is the winner for me nearly maxed out it has good longevity very flat at 20m and has a smooth and easy draw also rips through both top and bottom of a beer can
@camorakidd_edc
@camorakidd_edc Год назад
@@Catty_dan_ jup BSB is great. Also try the .55. imo the draw at the same stretch factor is really much more but the max stretch seems to be higher. Which means you actually get better longevity, because you are not maxed. A soft draw, again, because you are not maxed. And a lot of speed.

This is the problem with pre cut bands. Tapers, elongation, active band length, and pouch weight have a lot to do with ammo speed. It is really a good idea to make your own bands. With a little experimentation, you can find a good setup for any band for the most part. You never have to max out your bands. Think of it as a scale. One side is longevity other side is speed. The more weight you put on speed the less you will have in longevity and vice versa. You van never find this out with precuts. Unless you have experimented first and have them made to your specs. I have a few videos on making bands in some Playlist and why it is important to test elongation.

How would you compare qualities of the .5 sumeike to .5 snipersling yellow?
@ATOMark
@ATOMark Год назад
Both are high performance bands. As for the longevity that's something you will have to figure out with bands cut the way you like them.
@khunnation2320
@khunnation2320 Год назад
22/12 taper what active band length u cut in this video mate?
@ATOMark
@ATOMark Год назад
I checked the max elongation which was 600% decided that by my draw length 30". That gave me 12.7.. I cut them to 14cm. 1 cm for pouch attachment and 4mm for forks which brings me to 12.6active. It is a tiny bit shorter than my draw but the bands do stretch out after a few shots. I don't reccomend cutting bands maxed out. You will get the fastest speeds but band life sucks.
@infinitetutorial9506
@infinitetutorial9506 Год назад
Sir, I see this video you use 24/12 tapper,my height is 6ft and my draw length is 84 ,and I have sumeike 0.55,gonchi green and white 0.55mm,and I use 25/17 tapper it is not smooth so,my question is according to my height and draw length which tapper would be best for me???and I use the frame goblet evo.i asking you for international tournament.
@ATOMark
@ATOMark Год назад
When I test my bands I always use 24-12 because it is the fastest taper I have tried. But I agree with you it isn't smooth. Normally I shoot 22-12. I like that draw much better. But I tune my bands for how I like them . You will have to try out a few setups and see what you like.

I'm new to the sport and I'm wondering if I'm able to shoot 3/8s steel with snipersling .5 precut bands / pouches? I think it's 20/12 but the pouch seems much smaller than my simpleshot stock pouches for 3/8s
@imdrewkthnx
@imdrewkthnx Год назад
Also I love your videos! I've learned a lot in a very short time so thank you!
@ATOMark
@ATOMark Год назад
I am not a fan of pre cut bands because you can't experiment with the taper and band length. Do you draw to your face or longer? Usually, in China, they shoot 8mm steel, and they prepare their bands as such. The simpleshot pouches are huge, in my opinion. The bands are probably shootable but a good pit locating pouch is what I would recommend for 3/8" steel.
@imdrewkthnx
@imdrewkthnx Год назад
@ATO thanks for responding! I pull to my face but my arms are long so idk how much effect that has. I definitely jumped the gun on getting these out of excitement haha I also ordered the .6 and .7 precut to try out that haven't arrived yet but my main concern until I am able to make my own bands is the dreaded return to sender! Am I more likely to have this happen and or any other errors with 3/8s and this size pouch? If so I am okay with just shooting 5/16s until I get the right stuff... for now I just want to make sure before I hurt myself haha. So far I've been lucky with no fork hits or RTS after a few hundred shots on the simpleshot bands with 3/8s and I'm trying my best to avoid it in the future
@ATOMark
@ATOMark Год назад
You know I have never heard of or spoken to anybody who has had a return to sender before. I don't even know how that can happen. Have you ever had one?
@imdrewkthnx
@imdrewkthnx Год назад
@ATO I've never had one or known anyone who has I have only seen one video of it happening to someone who was using 1/2" very rusty steel ball and a nasty old band/pouch. I most likely am overthinking the whole thing and I just need to get out there and shoot! Really appreciate the help

When I tested sumeike and gongchi, gongchi was lighter 7.6lbs vs 9.2 for sumeike. I know I have said this to you before, but I will say it again. You can target shoot with any brand of elastic. What YOU need to do is try some bands and find out what works for you. Then stick with it. If you are asking me which I think best I go with gongchi. They are one of my favorite bands but I know people that don't like them. So this means YOU need to try some bands out and figure out what works for YOU!
