Holy Shiii-----, I just realized while watching you do this quest.. the reason why the statue of the seven was not responding to Clothar/Eide was because Nahida was still locked at the Sanctuary of Surastana and prolly doesn't have much wisdom yet during that time... got left me wondering, had the sages actually given Nahida freedom maybe the foundation of the abyss order might not have happened in the first place. 😳😳😳
i realized that as well . Cause we know nahida is way nicer to her ppl than any other gods we have met thus far . Even if he was khanrieahen she wouldve helped , but it was in the past . The dumb sages locked her up , plus she was new born , so she couldnt even help if she wanted to . Imagine the abyss order may not have ever been created or maybe created on a later time if these dumb sages didnt lock nahida up in that cage .
Bruh Someone on reddit pointed out that Kaeya 100% finessed Dainsleif here Kaeya knew Dain was listening in the whole time- he acted the innocent little angel and was "forthcoming with his surname" not because he doesn't know shit but because he wanted to bait Dain out of hiding, check what HE knew, and then bounced once Dain had accepted his story and before the Traveller could corner him Not used to a serious atmosphere, my ass Also, he totally knew his "next to the floating fairy" mail would find its target lmao I'm so excited for this absolute menace 😂
It's not a question of WHO Kaeya is now; it's more a question of WHAT he is. He really has been hiding something. Or is he himself in hiding for reasons? Monds being the last battlefield is looking more and more likely now. As long as Kaeya is there, Albedo, and that lingering god of time we know not what happened to, we'll be back to where we started.
44:47 The most scary part isn't the mystery voice or "loom of fate". IT'S that bloody mushrooms. Mushrooms only can grow on tree. But he plan on ground ,and this ground buried with his wife body. So this mushrooms is grow up by this man's wife blood.
Alberich as Kaeya's surname was indeed mentioned in game before. The most recent time was during the Diluc Skin Event, where you could find letters from Diluc to Kaeya and vice versa. It was mentioned that the Alberichs were regents, and NOT related to Khaenri'ah's Royal (Eclipse) dinasty. The name Alberich irl belongs to a dwarf in a myth, who stole a ring. Unfortunately, I remember very little about this story. Btw, the music in the unknown sanctuary is definitely from Chasm's ost, I checked. At first I thought it was Enkanomiya too
@@GIJERRO kaeya is indeed descended from Alberich but how can you be sure that kaeya is his child? i mean he could have been kaeya grandfather or great-grandfather
@@GIJERRO I don't think Clothar is Kaeya's dad. An ancestor - yes, but not that close. I don't get why having the same surname and direct relation made people think Kaeya is his son
I can't believe you caught that seeing Dainsleif after waking up was Lumine's pov. I didn't get that until the second time I saw it "Your companion departed for the forest early this morning" Insane hints
I had read the quest lines from the pre-load, so I was already aware that it was Lumine’s POV, but I was shocked to see someone else catch that without the foreknowledge. I know a lot of people are going to miss this if they don’t go back to analyze the quest a second time.
When i first saw dain i was like where is paimon did she betray me?? Then when the gem stone did something i was like is that paimon?? What just happen and then the mirror break wich in present the mirror did already break but i was like wait did paimon use time travel on me and then i relise it was lumine memory that was mind blown
This storyline made Kaeya so much more interesting. He is a full blooded khanrian, is he effected by the curse, he grew up with Diluc so does that mean he is now immortal since he reached adulthood. Also khanrians are considered sinners by celestia yet Kaeya as a khanrian was gifted a vision and if I remember from mondstads storyline recieving a vision makes u an allogene which gives them the right to ascend to celestia/become a god. So wat makes Keaya so important that the gods would bestow a vision to him, especially him being a descendant of the founder of the abyss who are strictly against celestia
@@LawlessTJ i just meant 100% the same, like if u see kaeya, then u see dainsleif, halfdain and now clothar, their eyes are exactly the same. cuz kaeya is half khaenrian his eyes are a bit diff. but just my speculation ofc :)
@@LawlessTJ if Kaeya was 100% Khaenri'ahn he would've witnessed the archon war, but he did not. Chlotar Alberich loved a woman from Mondstadt, and Kaeya is their descendant. He's 50% Khaenri'ahn only
*I love love LOVE that YOU love Paimon & Traveler moments!!!* They're the breather I could always relax in. People are so influenced to be immediately annoyed or suspicious of Paimon and disregards the Traveler in their own story for the sake of other characters at times, but they're who this is all about. Thus, it scares me that one day, Hoyo's gonna make us regret not paying these two more attention. When the time comes, there may be something major that would wedge between their bond as the story repeatedly emphasizes their bond and fear of separation with every Archon and world quest we do. It's a looming plot device that makes me fear for them and want to hug them together even more. *I am NOT ready! ToT*
IKR? I think people are way too hard on her. Yes, she doesn't know when to keep quiet sometimes and can kind of be a brat, but she's still a great friend to Aether/Lumine. If you'll notice, a lot of times when the Traveler ends up in a very dire situation, Paimon gets very concerned for their safety (like when Traveler was about to be executed by Raiden Shogun). And what makes it sad is that Paimon is generally very lonely and has a fear of being abandoned. Every now and then in the game she'll literally ask stuff like if Aether/Lumine is bothered by her being around.
@@whitneybennett4857 YES!!! Also, even tho she does act loud, proud, and energetic, that's just the usual behavior of excitable children! Eager to please and can't stay still. Tho she may be a lot older, we can't deny her form is based on that of a child's. They make mistakes from time to time, but that's how they learn. Maybe I feel more inclined to give her a chance because I like taking care of children? But if people could remember how she depends on the Traveler like a lost kid would, they'd probably feel more accepting of the fact that the Traveler & Her share separation anxiety and may have abandonment issues, so yes. They NEED each other. (Specially the Traveler who, for the first time, had been separated from their sibling and probably never knew true loneliness until they came to Teyvat. They'd go crazy without a partner to talk to after thousands of years with constant company. Maybe that's why the Abyss twin also looked for their own travel companion in Dain. They NEED people and a guide in this weird world they know nothing of.)
i loved their moments on this quest qwq°°° it shows how much the traveler likes her too and if something in the future ( looking at fontaine) happens to her it would affect him greatly 😢whether some players like her or not, she is like a little sister to him, in a foreign world where the only constant in his life is her.
Wait so meaning, when our sibling first arrived in Teyvat, they were looking for us just like how we are trying to look for them in our journey. So the question is, where the hell were we at this time point of time? I heard this time travel theory that Istaroth sent us 500 years into the future (which is the current time) when we got taken by the unknown god. Speaking of which, how did our sibling even escape the unknown god, she was trapped in that cube.
@@kehan6252 maybe instead of Isaroth sending us 500 years ahead in future , Isaroth might have trapped our sibling and she sent our sibling 500 years in the past....
I think Caribert most probably died because he was unable to handle the powers of the Abyss. So I don't think Caribert is Kaeya. And Kaeya is related to Chlothar but not like in a father-son relationship but he is non the less a descendant of the Alberich Clan. And Kaeya even tho he said he wants to lead happy and peaceful life which is true but partially because he's still not sure of himself about whether he's going to choose the side of his Khaenri'ahan lineage or the side of the people of Mondstadt where he was brought up, cherished and loved by. This choosing the side is mentioned by Mona in her thoughts about Kaeya if you choose her voice lines about others.
Something worth noting is that the only way for Kaeya to have been Caribert would be if there was some form of stasis placed on him up until he was brought to Mondstadt. He grew up as a child with Diluc, and this took place hundreds of years ago, so without some explanation as to how that it possible, Kaeya can't be Caribert.
Exactly, plus the fact that Eide and the voice we hear in the Weinlesefest isn’t the same one, and we for sure know that Kaeya’s dad was the one who left him outside of the winery
Let me tell you something by that point of time when Caribert was cured, Eide have lived for many years and Kaeya who is his supposedly son had the immortality of Hilichurls, therefore he might've been a kid for longer than humans normally do, because as compared to human's life expectancy Kaeya's lifetime should be infinitely more. We got to know in the Chasm quest that Hilichurls are also kind of immortal , since they didn't die off normally and had been living for years after the cataclysm
"Loom of Fate" could also be found in the very last part of the Traveler's story profile. It's locked where their "Vision" story was supposed to be written.
@@GR33NB3LL YeP The Traveler's Profile only unlocks after every major archon quest instead of using Friendship Level. Though the Traveler technically has a "Vision" story, if you check, unlike everyone else, the Traveler's Vision story is NOT placed at the very end, but "The Loom of Fate" is. Since their Profile only unlocks after every Major Archon Quest, I have finished the most recent quest and it's unlocked 4 stories for Mondstat, Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru. If you count all their profile stories, there's seven you have to go through before the 8th for Loom of Fate. Representing the Seven Nations and (if the "Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: Travails" is accurate) the last one would only unlock for Khanri'ah.
I loved this quest so much, we found out about a lot of info but we also gained even more questions that were left on a cliff hanger (YES IM TALKING ABOUT YOU DAIN, ALWAYS LEAVING US WHEN WE HAVE MORE QUESTIONS) it was super emotional too, so much sadness but also heartwarming with the Traveller and Paimons cute interactions, I loved them sm !!
So the question is: is Kaeya Caribert? Because he could "reweave" his fate, and there was no small male skeleton in that field. Meaning that Caribert must have survived and possibly turned back into a human.
That’s what I was wondering. I mean, Caribert couldn’t have had a kid to continue the Alberich bloodline. And the last living Alberich we know is Kaeya It makes sense that Kaeya doesn’t really understand his past thanks to erosion and whatnot.
@@Batman.- Caribert is an illegitimate son, which means this guy is already married, cheated on his wife and had another child with another woman from Mondstadt, so he should also has other children to continue the Alberich bloodline, so no I don't think Kaeya is Caribert.
maybe the "Sinner" possessed Caribert and is still alive, and also the one who is tampering with the other twin's info in the Irminsul (in the last Interlude Quest with Wanderer)
It's so hard to make me cry but seeing Traveler and Paimon show a lot more love and appreciation genuinely made me tear up, and I wish we will see a cutscene of them hugging, really.
By the end of his life, Chlothar had managed to reunite Francia by surviving his brothers and seizing their territories after they died. But upon his own death, the Kingdom of the Franks was once again divided between his own four surviving sons. *A fifth son had rebelled and was killed, along with his family* Could it be Kaeya not wanting to join the Abyss Order and their plan
So this is what i gather 1) Caribert was actually cured. Lumine saw it and realised that there is a way to save all the cursed people by using Abyss. 2) Caribert human form most likely is capitano or kaeya. 3) eide found his wife and cured her and himself and died as a natural/ normal human way. As the name suggests. ( There's another possibility and that is caribert died and eide found his wife later did the same cure to his wife she died and he burried them both together (less likely as Dain said it must be chlothar body) )
Idk seems like Eide's lover (not wife) was killed during the catastrophe, and his legitimate wife and children died too. He said all he has is his previously forgotten illegitimate child, Caribert.
I don’t think Cariberg could be Kaeya, caribert could’ve been saved, but we know that Clothar is burried in the field, and we know Kaeya’s dad left him when he was a child outside of the Dawn winery, plus that the voice we heard in the weinless festival isn’t the same as Eide’s voice in this archon quest
It seems to me that Caribert probably died? Dunno what it actually means that he became the 'loom of fate'. Cari's mom probably died before the events of this memory took place. Clothar is the only person who appears to have broken the curse, as he apparently died and was buried in the same place as his lover. Kaeya is probably descended from Clothar's legitimate children. Maybe he's his grandson or further along the line.
I think it's implied that the wife was used as fertilizer for the mushrooms, because of the mushroom's appearance and description and also Chlothar refusing to talk about what happened to her.
My new favorite Archon Quest, hands down. I don't think we will have anything that will beat this for a while. But I guess it is hard to beat any Dainsleif quest. (Edit) Okay, after finishing the video, I went back to the part where we hear " The voice in the head", I thought It sounded familiar, and after some sound adjusting ( This videos audio is quieter than the one I was comparing it to), The voice sounded very similar to Pierro's voice. To be clear, this might just be me hearing things completely wrong. Either way, I can't wait to see what happens next. But I'll have to wait till next year I suppose, because that seems to be the average break between khaenri'ah lore drops. Also, love to see Kaeya lore. ( I am, and forever will be a Kaeya main, and I will take any lore genshin gives me.)
I have a theory since kaeya said “near sumeru” about khaenri’ah being under near sumeru I think that it will be under Fontaine and there will be a statue of some sort (in Fontaine) that will be a “gateway to celestia and ALSO khaenri’ah since now celestia is basically above where Fontaine is going to be we will probably get a quest for that but it’s just a theory which I think is really awesome and I hope my theory is true cause it sounds cool and something that will likely happen in Genshin 😂 (JUST A THEORY I KNOW IT SOUNDS WEIRD AND BIZZARE)
I always thought that Khaenri'ah was in the deep depths of the Chasm, given that time is wonky there and there are a lot of ruins that hint towards Khaenri'ah lore. Also, it kinda shares a border with Liyue and Sumeru...
BRO KAEYA NEEDS MORE SCREENTIME GRRRRRRRRRRRR but fr that plot twist though was just.... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (i ended up losing my sh!t more than 3 times during this due to anger, happiness, etc.)
Thejonathon, I love how you're often able to make correct guesses about what's actually going on/what will happen in the quest and the fact that you pay more attention to the details of the previous quests as well. You're my favorite youtuber in this regards
Man how did you immediately know it was Lumine’s pov? I’m so dense compared to you. I literally never know what the hells going on, I’m just bumbling along being amazed at everything 😂
@@DarkSeraph i don't think so, the jester is a part of the fatui who overall is quite opposed to the abyss. This sinner seems to be either the abyss himself or extremely connected to it.
Aw man, I watched my friends stream this last night and came away with more questions than answers for sure! Typical Dainsleif quest, indeed! XD But the new Kaeya and Alberich lore is SO good, and I loved seeing him interact with Dain so much. Learning more about Khaenri'ah is super exciting too, even if it was utterly devastating. :')
My Traveler sibling got called the Prince of Khaenri'ah by Eide; while in the convo with Dain, the "King" of the Abyss Order was the founding Alberich, a noble, making in essence, Kaeya the actual "Prince" of the Abyss Order. So the other way around? Now after the events with Caribert it's not a question of WHO Kaeya is anymore, but WHAT is he. What if the loom that Caribert became can be passed on to the next generation, since Eide died, with Kaeya being the most recent inheritor? Was he left in Monds to keep him safe until the right time comes for him to be used or "harvested"? If he will be integral to everything in the end, then Monds might be the final battle ground where the Harbingers (after Jester finds out what's there), Dain, the Abyss Order and our sibling, us, Celestia and the gods will be gravitating towards to get what's there. "The last hope". Maybe that's why they have that line asking Kaeya which side he'll choose? This quest changes things. [ EDIT ] Me realizing that the VA for Eide has the same shifts and dips as Kaveh's VA. They the same one? //
Kaeya is NOT Caribert. Dainsleif would not have referred to Clothar as Kaeyas ancestor and would have called him his father. Ancestor is someone who you have familial ties to, not your direct parent. Edit: to further back this, we've canonically heard Kaeya's father in game. During Weinelessefest. The voice in that scene is NOT the same as Clothar's. Second Edit: the god of time is a female iirc. But I think *"He"* could be the Primordial One possibly. Or The Second Who Came. It's someone not inhibited by time or memories. That would be an ultimate being.
Holy shoot, Hoyoverse surely gonna make us confused with this Kaeya-Caribert thing. Like Rukkhadevata-Nahida in the past, like, "They should be the same person", then the next archon quest be like, "I KNOW IT, THEY'RE THE SAME PERSON!", and then the next be like, "Ohh, so they're not exactly the same person???"
Man this archon quest was just soo good . The voice acting, emotions ,the depth all were very amazing and enjoyable . Hands down this was one of the best quest till now !!!!!!!!!!
Somehow after doing this quest myself, AND watching other people's playthroughs afterward, I still learned new nuggets from watching Jon's stream. W streamer. 👏
If I had a penny for everytime traveler had almost an entire archon quest being a dream I would have 2 pennies which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
Dude, Imagine if the devs put in the extra effort and made it so that if we were actually able to teleport, the places that we know were also set in the past like Rex Lapis still in charge in Liyue and Mondstat being slavery central
Kaeya is not Caribert. First of all, during the quest, we’re viewing memories from apparently hundreds of years ago. This is stated a few times to confirm. We don't know what exactly happened to Caribert after he removed his mask, but if we assume that he got rid of the curse and became human again, that human can't be Kaeya. Why? Because it happened hundreds of years ago, so Caribert should be dead by now, or at least, be very old. Second thing, it is explicitly stated that Kaeya was left in Mond by his biological father. That was a little over a decade ago, and Chlothar was probably already dead at that point. I know it says the male skeleton (Chlothar) was buried later, but I'm quite sure it was the Traveler's sibling who buried him (that’s why the Traveler knew where to dig to find the skeletons), so Chlothar was probably buried there a long time ago as well. Also, Dainsleif called Kaeya a “descendant” meaning he was descended from the founder, Chlothar, not that he was his son. Although, I doubt Dain would know that anyway, but still. Kaeya’s been called a descendant other times as well. I checked Kaeya's voice lines after completing the quest, (I was hoping to find a new one mentioning Dain), and I noticed that his voice line about Fischl has been changed: Old: What? You think Fischl having one eye covered is very fitting given her title of Prinzessin der Verurteilung. Hahaha, if that's the case, that must make me a future royal progeny too, no? New: Hmm? You think Fischl having one eye covered is very fitting given her title of Prinzessin der Verurteilung. Hahaha, if that's the case, that must also make me a descendant of some kind of former royal lineage, no? I know he is just 'joking' here, but I don't think it’s a coincidence that this what changed on the same update the Archon Quest was released. Another reason why I don't think Chlothar is Kaeya's father it's because they don't resemble each other the slightest, aside from the eyes. Chlothar says Caribert’s mother was from Mondstadt, and, clearly, Kaeya doesn't resemble Mond's people either. And the last thing I want to state is that, during the Weinlesefest event, in the final cutscene, we can hear Kaeya's father's voice, and it’s completely different from Chlothar's voice (I just checked it). So this definitely brings down the ''Kaeya is Caribert'' theory. However, there is another theory that I think may be true: If we assume that Caribert's curse was broken and he became a normal human again, he definitely could’ve created a not-cursed lineage, leading up to Kaeya. This would also explain why Kaeya doesn't seem to be cursed regardless of being a Khaenri'ahn. There's also the possibility that Chlothar had other children and they are Kaeya's ancestors (after all, Caribert was an illegitimate son, which implies that Chlothar was married to another woman). Or maybe Chlothar could be anyone in the Alberich Clan, not necessarily directly related to Kaeya. Clans should contain multiple members, meaning multiple people with the same surname. Anyway, these are only conjectures. I personally don't like to theorize, so I guess I'll wait until Mihoyo decides to clarify things a bit (even if it will take some time). (Sorry if there are any grammatical mistakes, I am not a native English speaker)
Some times it gets annoying but she is the only true friend traveler has. Just listen to the traveler voice lines . They are great friends. Going on a long journey with someone like that would be great
I start to wonder if Khaenri'ahs didn't turn away from gods to listen one of descenders - that descender didn't necessarily want to be one of "gods" but the fact that a whole nation listened to them was too much of a treat. Also, I find if hilarious how Clothart "begged" Sumeru archon for help. It was one big insult, nothing else, and then he was surprised he didn't receive an answer... Makes me wonder how Nahida would react if she was able to. Hmm, if Kaeya was Caribert who changed back into humans after taking off a mask (which raises a question how removal of a mask was enough to cure him; was it because of that abyss magic?) he would have to stay a human kid for a few centuries before being left in Mondstadt so I doubt Clothart is his father.
I"m so glad you're putting longer videos on youtube! I would love to watch the streams but can't possibly catch it because of time difference. And yeah I'm never killing another hilichurl ever again
I think it is too much. How. I do not get it. Ok, you could guess the past, the Lumine (but not this early thou), but why he said that Eide is Kaeya father randomly in the middle of the quest (he didn't say his surname yet)??? Or his chat was hinting at him that or he watched that quest before.
@@mirofeya the thing about eide being kaeya’s father seems to be more of an assumption, it’s not actually confirmed so far And Genshin can become quite easily predictable, fanfic authors sometimes predict whole arcs before it even comes out so it’s not rlly that surprising😅🤷♀️
the Sinner could be the Second Who Came. Could be as well the snake in the Gnostic Chorus. As for Caribert, leaks say that Capitano of the Fatui has large ties to the Abyss... maybe that's him. That's a huge stretch though.
Bro I can't be the only one who thought the fertilizer had something to do with paimon's remain. Just having paimon go dissappear makes me think she dies. Makes me really sad 😔.
I wasn't the only one who noticed that the "sinner" looked like an unrefined primogem right? And how those are exchanged for wishing items called fates? Just me?
We've heard/seen "Alberich" in-game at least twice by now. One in Mona's voiceline on Kaeya, and another in Kaeya's char stories. edit: also "Hey, hold on now. This conversation has taken a rather sudden turn for the deadly serious... and I'm afraid that as someone from Mondstadt, I'm not accustomed to this sort of atmosphere" Kaeya, that's a lot of words you said instead of a "no" when asked about your current ties to the Abyss Order🤔 edit 2: the music in the Unknown Sanctuary is the same as on one of the lower levels of the Chasm, but yeah, it also resembles Enkanomiya music. I'm suspecting that the piano is the instrument representing the unified civilization in general, and melodies are similar enough to show the connection. For the fun of it, run around Valley of Dahri (best done at nighttime, I think) and listen to the soundtrack.
when I played this quest i had ZERO clue where the fuck it was going so all the reveals FUCKED ME UP 😭😭 I thought we were the abyss twin the entire time and we'll be switched with their character but nah it was just a dream 😭😭😭
So wait wait wait if Kaeya has the same last name and he managed to cure his own curse, and Kaeya - a half-blood Khanrean - was told by his father to live in Mondsadt, does that mean Kaeya might be Caribert?
Wiki: Charibert I (French: Caribert; Latin: Charibertus; c. 517 - December 567) was the Merovingian King of Paris, the second-eldest son of Chlothar I and his first wife Ingund. His elder brother Gunthar died sometime before their father's death.
I hate the fact they basically left it on a cliffhanger and it was really barely anything we need more than just this it triggers me that they only gave us a bit in the new update
i though paimon was being cute at first too, but then i realized she is actually very sus in this quest. right before we woke up in the memory she asked us about our sibling, and she hurried us to go to sleep…i thought that was a weird coincidence.
I will start this after a month or so coz I hate archon quests to finish this quick coz they are so goood, I have also kept alhaitham and dehya story quest for later.

Can anyone answer this question for me? When Lumine wakes up in the past, she asks where her traveling companion is and the Clothar says that the companion departed early for the forest. He (Clotar) was talking about Dainsleif or Paimon
Kaeya CAN'T BE Caribert As Dain said, the event of Chlothar and Caribert happened long time ago, probably hundreds of years, while Kaeya is only 20+ years old
