"Returning to Heaven Relies on His Salvation Human lives truly are reincarnating Who am I in all the lifetimes then Where did we come from And when will we return Why would life be reincarnating Sun, moon, and stars round and round-who moves them Dafa [Great Heavenly Law] disciples say the Creator has made all this Humans, Gods, and things are all His masterpieces This answer penetrates my ears like thunder To return to heaven, all beings rely on His salvation 2017" Master Li Hongzhi (Hong Yin VI, from Falun Dafa teachings)
I can't believe there's silly comment down there criticized her "emotion"... Speechless. She's a real Catholic and prays her Rosary. If she didn't sing Ave Maria with enough emotion I don't know what you are asking for.
my grandson was born several days ago, and this recording was the first song my son chose to grace baby Alexander's teeny tiny ears. Could he have chosen anything more exquisite? more sublime? How wonderful our baby now knows he can hear heaven on earth.
Perfect choice your son made for your grandchild. I return again and again to this Ave Maria by Sumi Jo. Have never heard anything like it..bless her 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Absolutely breathtaking. It's as if The Spirit of God is illuminating His love for us through her voice. Her singing seems almost not of this world... Definitely my favorite Korean Soprano
I feel the same. I've listened to hundreds of Ave Marias, many beautiful in their own way, but this... this... nothing is beyond this one performance of Sumi Jo's. When I have the longing for an Ave Maria, yes, I also come here to hear her once again.
@@Merisa_dance_covers Sumi jo is years ahead of hayley. Tone of voice and vibrato are incomparable. Pro vs amateur. But again sumi's voice is from heaven so its pointless to argue😂
The most beautiful brilliant performance ever of this Muster piece! The gorgeous voice of Sumi Jo underlines ups and downs of this beautiful music piece perfectly! It‘s a great pleasure to listen to her stunning performance again and again!!! Love it!!
I am 75 years old and I would like to live forever so that forever I can listen to Sumi Jo, This piece energizes me GOD BLESS SUMI although He has already blessed her giving her such delightful voice.
her perfact high note control, breath control even emotion control...perfactly understanding about song...i mean what can i say...her skill...my god!! every single time listen this master piece....i can feel that she is singing with her soul...not just showing up her technique "high note skill"....this interpretation is that just she is praying with her soul to Maria...just amazing....
+Eddy Lee you are right my sentiment exact,to boot and nail it home, she is a Roman catholic. And yes she is praying when she sings this song.I heard same song when she dedicated her concert in Paris when her Father passed away...
Yessss. I used to listen to this all the time, ten years ago when I was in high school. Still affects me to this day the same way it did all those years ago.
Is she singing simultaneously as she inhales? This woman is either from another planet or she trained with coaches from another planet because she is clearly in a class all by herself. I have never heard any instrument more beautiful than this voice!
@@i.t.t. Ave Maria by Bach was sent to the universe. This is also very beautiful, rather exceptional, but there is much more mediocre or much worse "music"
Sumi Jo's version of Ave Maria gives me chills every time I listen to it. I also feel her spirit and prayer makes this masterpiece, not just a performance...truly incredible!!!
I agree word for word, that’s exactly how I feel! The most wonderful-sounding opera singer in the world, she is a proud, exceptional woman 🙏❤️⚜️ Regards from Hungary
Literally brought to tears over the sound of her voice... especially as she rifts down and each note stops as the next note down starts. No one in the history of voices I've heard move me like hers does. How unfair that this cannot be witnessed in everyone else's lifetime, past and future...
The first time I ever heard this was just when the Sumi Jo record was released. I was driving in my car an had no choice but to pull over to the side of the road while this heavenly music and voice was on. I could not bear to miss a note. Jo crafts her interpretation like a fine painting with great grace and beauty.
I have tried to search for the best version of this song.... Now I know for sure, no, it's invariable truth that she's the best making me cry every time I hear this song. She's an living angel in this planet.
First, I saw her at a concert so I can cross one line from my bucket list. Second, I keep coming back to this video whenever I need to find peace and balance. The best singer of all time in my opinion!
There is a myth that says about Angels voices, well I just heard one ... It is truly a God's special gift to be honored with such talent and Jo Sumi has just proven God's generosity... It brings up the question of why she wasn't exposed more here in the States. I know she won a Grammy, but was that it??? It is common knowledge the Politics that exists in all of the Award shows here in U.S. If that is so then Shame on us that we couldn't recognize, accept and celebrate an obviously Superior talent like Jo Sumi... It's embarrassing...
+Ellen Bay Sumi Jo performed many times in the States. As far as I remember, she performed at least 30 times at the Met, and many recitals and concerts in New York, LA, Chicago, etc. She performed the queen of the Magic Flute in LA opera, Amina (Sonnambula) and Elvira (Puritans) at Caramoor festival, and at least 5 concerts in Carnegie Hall. There is a live recorded album, Sumi Jo in Carnegie Hall in amazon.
+Ellen Bay I agee with smoothiw's response - but I also feel that Sumi Jo - a prodigious talent- has never received the sort of plaudits she deserves. Nevertheless, her send-up (5 mins in) and her appearance at the end in "Youth" compensates in some small way. BTW, there are literally thousands of her clips - from concerts, recitals, recordings on RU-vid, each one better than the next!! Regards
+Ellen Bay I am happy that I found a big fan of her in the states. I am listening to many globally famous soprano singers' singing but personally no one's voice is better than Sumi Jo. I am Korean like her and I think the reason behind that she is not that famous globally compared to her talent is because of 'cultural imperialism' or 'Western cultural domination'. I saw one reply from a fan in Japan saying that if she had an appearance of westerners, she would have been far more famous. I agree with the opinion as well. The soft power of a country can conquer the success of an individual artist. She is already over 50, so some think her prime time passed but I hope you would be an evangelist for her in the states. I also believe that if you liked Sumi Jo, you also would like Hei-kyung Hong, a Korean singer who regularly performes at Metropolitan opera house. If I were in the states, I would be in her concert every time. Her voice is so emotional and has different attractiveness from Sumi Jo.
That last note is a high A. Sumi Jo is famous for her roll of Queen of the Night which very few sopranos can sing and has quite a few notes above the high A. Singing it as quietly as she does is impressive. A performance like this - extraordinarily rare.
MY MOTHER PAST ON THE 10 OF JUNE 2006 AND SINCE THEN I ALWAYS SHERISHED THIS BEAUTIFUL ARIA,.. AND WITH THIS AMAZING SOUL I FOUND MY OWN AND MADE MY LIFE BEARABLE AND SO IT IS THAT I SHALL ALWAYS EXIST HAPPIER AND HOPEFUL FOR THIS VOICE BREAKS ALL EVIL AROUND ME,.. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU,.MAY YOUR HEART AND SOUL BE ALWAYS CONNECTED AND IN HAPPINESS EVERLASTING FOR YOUR VOICE IS A SHELTER FOR SOULS IN DISPEAR,.. !!!!
It appears as if Sumi Jo sings this beautiful song in a higher key than other sopranos I have listened to. She handles the high notes with great beauty and perfect control!
The best soprano ever. Simply because her voice has remained consistent if not getting better. And she has never failed the audience with her performane
A glorious performance that appropriately presents this magnificent piece of music while giving proper honor to the subject of the piece. Thank you Sumi Jo!
Sumo Ji, A South Korea soprano performed this Ave Maria, she showed a very talent, an Angel voice which expressed worthship, heart touching and audience feeling to the Heaven. An unknown Vietnamese listener.
Stunningly beautiful and humble. I feel the same awe when listening to the amazing ANDREY NEMZER singing SAINT FRANCIS PRAYER. Such humility and inspiration!
I love the control, she's not just belching out loud notes like some of the other renditions. I mean she could do that, but the contrast of the sweet gentle low volume vs the louder bits is so much more dynamic and pleasant to my ears.
I heard a bit of this song on a mix of her songs and just now found out its name. She sings like and angel, and I'm always amazed at the perfection of her live performances. She is unique and we're blessed to be able to enjoy her talent.
Such a deeply spiritual performance leaves me speechless. So quietly gentle, yet so extremely passionate. The ineffable beauty of Sumi Jo's voice is in a class all its own. I can think of few other vocalists with such fine tuned pianissimos taking the art of bel-canto to an even higher level.
