Thanks so much I had a cornea transplant and your videos are very helpful and in detail unlike other videos , especially about your sight and exercise and after care . Thankyou so much kellie !!
Honestly thanks for these videos, I have my third checkup tomorrow for my keratoconus. Over the last year, there hasn't been a progression so it seems from the typography exam. But I think it's going to be different this time, my eyes are becoming more sensitive to light and my left eye is shot -- but it always has but like its just nerve-wracking. I'm 20 and I'm about to be a junior in college so i defininetly strain my eyes looking at word documents all day on the computer. Long story short, It's just really scary and I'm just glad you've been making these videos throughout the process; it made it a little less stressful. Thank you lots my dude.
+randy mohan Thank you! It might be a while yet before I drive. I believe my next step will be to have crosslinking in my left eye. However, when the time comes when ill be driving I will probably make video updates for that part of my keratoconus journey as well.
U kinda touch my heart when u said that u didn't wanted to depend on anyone anyone with Keratoconus that would be there biggest fear that one day u have to be dependable on someone
+randy mohan thank you, I have had experience being dependent on my family especially during college to get home and to visit my mom in another state. I just hate feeling like a burden to other people. I started my business in hopes of having some source of money without relying on my parents if i couldn't drive to a job I would create a job I could do at home.
I had the cross linking procedure done almost a year ago. For me it was the most painful thing I ever experience. Reason being the numbing meds wore off and by them being so far into it the numbing meds would no longer work. I'm now preparing for the cornea transplant May 2nd. I'm so nervous especially when it comes to pain but I'm ready. It took over 15yrs for me to finally find out what was wrong with my eye sight so I'm happy I'm getting a chance to correct it.
+Amani1218 that sounds awful. I'm sorry you had to experience that. though I was told cross linking is more painful than the transplant. For me the pain I had from the transplant was minimal. I wish you the best of luck with your transplant! :)
So here we are over a year later and I never had the surgery. Unfortunately I found out I have a kidney issue and low hemmoglobin and until it's corrected I can't complete the surgery
Hello i just had my cornea transplant 12/13/2021 im very sensitive to light as of now i have my next follow up in 2 weeks my eye is still swollen and red i still see cloudy
were you able to use glasses prior to surgery, Were you wearing gp's..I ask because without contacts I cant see much more than pastel colors directly in front of my face..glasses have never been an option since I was 15..I am gping into surgery 1/23/17
I'm actually taking a year off work and go do my transplant in India medical tourism And c3r in my left eyes I'm driving now cause my left eyes not that bad
+randy mohan I'm happy to hear that you are able to receive the treatment that you need. I likewise took the time that I needed for my healing process.
+Ingrid Kiss that is a bummer. I know it has to do with bacteria in the water which is kind of gross. However, i think i rather hold off from swimming for a year than risk an infection, however boring it will make the summer lol.
I did manage to shower though ( even if they said not to get water near my eyes for a week)...I basically placed a patch onto my eye and had a towel at hand to wrap my hair up and kept wiping the water off my forehead every couple of minutes...I mean one week is a long time :))
+Ingrid Kiss haha i can relate, I felt so gross after a few days. I similarly held a towel over my eyes as my dad washed my hair in the sink. Im impressed that you were able to do it on your own, that takes some skill!
