I love those pansies! If it were me, on the little bears, I would just continue working the border. I don't like frogging and also, I think the border just makes the bears seem a bit more like "old fashioned bears" that a little girl of long ago would love and play with. That's just me though. I'm sure that it will look beautiful both ways. Your HEAED is going to be gorgeous!!! I have not gotten one of their patterns because it's intimidating to me but the patterns are just so amazing. I agree with you about the black background fabric being difficult and slow to work on. I'm working on an Orenco design (a Lily and lilypad) and the background is black and it's making my eyes go crosseyed!

Thanks so much for your feedback, Jill! :) The black is killing me, but I am really enjoying that design. As for the HAED - go for it!!! It is actually one of my easiest stitches believe it or not. (Like eating a whale one bite at a time ... LOL!!!)

Thanks so much! HAED is so much more fun than I thought it would be! I was thinking it would be impossibly hard, but it's turning out to be my favorite cross stitch project ever! :)

I have cross-stitched for almost 20 or so years and then lost my "stitchy bug" about six years ago. I got my "stitchy bug" back this January and pulled out three old full coverage pieces (Gold Collection, Design Works and Sunset kits) which I had first started in the late 1990s/early 2000s. I am determined to complete all three this year. A difficult task as I am constantly distracted by new beautiful charts (full coverage and smalls) from designers I've discovered since stumbling on FlossTube! I think you are so far into the bear project that it would be too emotionally painful for you to frog that beautiful border. I say soldier on .. but work on one or two small projects every now and then so you don't lose your "stitchy bug" like I did....

In regards to your bear project, I like the bottom part of it (it kind of looks like part of a rug), but I agree that it would look better without the side border. I agree with you that it will be very painful to frog! Ultimately, it is up to you, but since you asked 😉 This will teach me to comment before watching the whole video 🤦🏼‍♀️: In regards to your HAED done in tent stitch, are you alternating stitch direction by row? Or by block? I'm trying to decide the best way to start mine with tent, and I've watched a lot of videos on it. It seems like most I've watched suggest switching by row. Which I fear keeping track of will just confuse/stress me out. Do you think if you do a different direction each block it would work? Wonder how many blocks I could push it to ...
@tinyworldsofwonder
@tinyworldsofwonder 4 года назад
Hi there!! I totally agree with your advice. Thanks for giving it to me! I don't think it will be as painful to frog as to continue with those 90's colors. LOL! As for the HAED, I am alternating row by row as I stitch with each color. So I suppose the direction really ends up being all over the place, but it seems to be working. :) I hope that makes sense!

I love that we feel the same way about cross stitching and diamond painting!!! I feel guilt when I buy a diamond painting and it also hurts my shoulder when cross stitch doesn't. Cross stitch is so zen and fun without the guilt of all of the microplastics I'm contributing to. ❤
@tinyworldsofwonder

Absolutely! I have more than my fair share of diamond paintings, but the texture of fabric and thread is so relaxing! 🥰

Beautiful work with all of them. And I think I would remove the background/side boarder. It doesnt seem to match the other colors. But keep the bottom. I think it will look really good that way.

If you use a white pillow case underneath the black cross stitch cloth you will be able to see the holes a lot better. An old technique someone told me once.

Hi, Ishanka!! My HAED project is my very favorite!! Here in the US most local craft stores like Michaels carry DMC floss, but I wonder if some UK shops would ship to Norway?

Agree, I would remove the side stitching, the colors are not flattering to the rest of your beautiful work. The printed portion, will that wash out? If so you could simply avoid the background stitching.
@tinyworldsofwonder

PR RUNE I agree completely! I think that is what I have decided. Hopefully any enlarged holes in my Aida will tighten up when washed. Thanks for your input!! 😀❤️

HAEDs are great fun. About the bears: maybe 'fade out' stitches from the right side, also a bit along the top, so it doesn't look so empty. That way you could keep room on all sides between the bears and the frame without having to stitch everything. Happy stitching!

Jessica, I do the loop method to start also but my question is about the snipped threads on top of your fabric. How exactly does that work? And parking has always been confusing because I don’t understand how you keep the colors (many of which are so similar in color-just a tad different shade) straight as to what goes where. Do you have a tutorial for that or can you direct me to one that simplifies this method? Also, what count fabric are you using with the tent stitch, the coverage looks great!
@tinyworldsofwonder
@tinyworldsofwonder 4 года назад
Jill Miller Hi, Jill! This is 2x1 tent on 25 count. 😀 I work in 100-stitch squares, so when I park I place my thread in the lower left of the next stitch I will make in that color. I found a really good cross stitch channel I’ll try to remember to mention in my next CS update. The lady is a genius, but I might have to dig to find her channel again. 😀
@tinyworldsofwonder
@tinyworldsofwonder 4 года назад
Oh, and the short threads are ending threads that I park a square or two ahead of where I’m stitching so I can stitch over them in my next block. 😀

just stumbled on this. i watch you for diamond painting. Never knew you did CS I am just now gonna start to learn ! you had some interesting g ideas ENDING THREADS ? YOU PULL UP TO FRONT AND SNIP? STITCHES DONT COME OUT?Do you just cross over them later?
@tinyworldsofwonder
@tinyworldsofwonder 3 года назад
Hi, Rhonda!! Yes, I do some stitching just for kicks. 🥰 My ending threads that you see pulled to the front are all waiting to be stitched over. 😀 I park them ahead of where I’m stitching next.

@@tinyworldsofwonder that’s it really parking the cut ones.so do you not do parking? i hate idea of so many loose threads so always like to see people methods
@tinyworldsofwonder
@tinyworldsofwonder 3 года назад
@@rhondahelfand6089 Sorry, I worded that in a strange way. The short threads are my ending threads that I will stitch over as I work that direction and then snip off before I stitch the square they’re living in. The long threads hanging down are my parked threads. I prefer not to work cross country because it’s just too much counting. 😬😜

@tinyworldsofwonder
@tinyworldsofwonder 4 года назад
Hi, Brittani! A small, all-inclusive kit can be a great way to start. I think I started with some small Christmas ornaments when I was younger. You can learn all the basic stitches, and these kits often have directions that can be really helpful. :)
