This JIF ( Janet n Florence) I come to you all today with much sadness today. My Phil passed away yesterday afternoon due to a massive heart attack. He passed away suddenly in our kitchen where I tried with all my heart to give CPR but to no avail. He was about to grill some burgers and doing what he loved. He also loved all his viewers and subscribers. It was his joy to talk and exchange ideas, mods, and cooking tips. He is so loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. I lost my very best friend in the world. My life will never be the same. Thanks to you all for making his life richer! He loved Jesus and he knew where he was going when he died. He's not suffering either health issues any longer! Much love to you all.

What a great bbq channel this has been. Thank you for all the inspiration. You will are greatly missed. May the Lord bring comfort to your family.

Heaven has a new Pitmaster. RIP Phil.

Phil was such a great guy and I always enjoyed talking to him, but it was really his joy that attracted me to him most. Initially it was his joy for bbq and modifying cookers that got me watching, but I think my favorite thing about his channel was how much he loved his family. He didn't even have to say it overtly in the videos. You could feel it. I'm so thankful he included some of those wonderful family moments in the videos and that you guys will always be able to look back and see how much he cared about you (though I suspect there isn't anyone in the family that ever doubted that.) Janet, thank you for sharing Phil with us. My life is happier for having met him. I'm so thankful this separation is just for a season and you will see him again someday. May God bring you peace as you grieve.

I still come back to watch his videos. RIP Phil

I'm sorry to hear this, I didn't realize I was on my other channel when I commented earlier, I was floored. That's a lovely yard you have there Phil. That tiller sure takes some of the back-breaking work out of gardening. Perhaps raised beds would be a workable solution to the stooping problem. None of use are getting any younger my friend, but it's a good idea to keep active as long as possible. Home-grown food is best! 😋🌟👍

I know first hand at how much work it takes and it's very rewarding but as we get older you want to downsize but man it's hard to not plant those extra seeds and plants even if you don't need them...It looks absolutely amazing Phil..I love that pipe trick..yes suh. Wow I just heard today. I am so sorry to hear about Phil passing. I loved his style and his southern accent. He will be missed but is moving on to a place with no bodily issues.

Old. You young buck. You have a long way to go.your ground looks quite sandy. We have heavy black loam here on the prairie. When I used to mow I’d bag the clippings and lay them around the plants. Kept the veggies clean, preserved moisture and when tilled in in the fall it made good compost. Just me. When I lived on the farm in south central Minnesota I had a lot of friends that raised sweet corn and peas for the canning companies. Got a lot of freebies that way.

This is so sad. Janet, my condolences for your loss. I watched the videos not really for the cooking, but because Phil was a great family man, and just having fun keeping busy, and trying new things.
