Trento and bolzano(Bozen) lies in trentino alto adige,so they are close and you can reach both easily by train. It is the northernmost region of Italy and it has the most spectacular mountains in the nation alog with Belluno province(Veneto) and Valle d'Aosta. Trento is the italian province and alto adige/sudtyrol is the german part and like trieste they were heavily influenced in architecture by the austrian empire,having joined Italy only in 1918 so there are still truly germanic people over there (some of them not happy being part of Italy) and the food the lifestyle is quite germanic than italian. It'a another part of our nation that will surprise you from being different than the rest.
Ciao! It is interesting to see the change in architectural style in Merano as opposed to most areas in Italy. It is cool to see the Austrian style buildings while still in Italy. You are certainly lucky to study and live in Italy despite your own countries problems with what is happening. Italian people culture religion is one of the best!
