You guys are utilizing every square foot of your 1.5 acre farmstead. And organizing in a way it gives you yield throughout the whole year. Not only that, you also keep it gorgeous! I've seen other channels who bought huge properties but not utilizing as much of their land. Except getting yield from the olives. You work hard and it shows. Within matter of an year, this farmstead will look like a castle in the midst of a botanical garden!!! Best of luck for all your future endeavors!!!
The rain is like here in the north of the Netherlands, a lot. I visited Coimbra once in 1981; when Portugal was poor and there was no EU and the roads were small. But Coimbra was beautiful, with nice people. I have a fond memory of it. Have a nice weekend.
Portugal is poorer now. The Portuguese today have the living standard that they had in 1979. Basically the Portuguese got poorer since they joined the E.U in 1986.
As I live in a city, in a condo, I really appreciate your garden videos. Even second hand, gardening is so enjoyable and relaxing! Can't wait for the building to resume!
i have been searching for a new place to call home for several years now, and i miss not having a garden terribly. your video brings me joy and comfort; thank you.
I have reached the latest😢, I will just start from the beginning again, I guess. You have been such an amazing companion to my treatment. Thank you!! I love what you are doing, the house, the garden, your humor! ❤
I adore Coimbra! The narrow streets and all the little shops are so cool. And the Roman ruins at Conimbriga are epic. I love your garden and admire how you are managing it. I'm trying to start mine but the bugs and snails keep eating my seedlings. It's so disheartening sometimes but so rewarding when you are able to eat what you've grown. Right now, I'm especially good at growing nettles (ha, ha) and brambles. Saludos desde Asturias. (Where it rains and rains.)
@@NearbyVeggies, absolutely! And I eat the nettles, too. Yum. Super easy food is so undervalued. We do have lots of beautiful butterflies around our finca. Thank you for reminding me of the joy in this. Saludos desde Asturias.
I love the way you plant your flowers, veggies and herbs. They are so lush and make me feel serene..you both have green thumbs. It gives me pleasure to see your gardens. I can't wait to see your house when it is finished as well. I know it will be as welcoming as your plants. Thanks so much for taking us on the journey. Love from Italy, Katie
Hi love your garden, I am just starting my own raised vegetable garden, it’s not ready yet but I hope it goes as well as yours. A ride on mower would be just the ticket for your patch.
You are planting your iris corms too deep...the corms want to get the sun baking them, then you'll get strong flowers, but you've effectively buried them. Love the garden.
Your garden is beautiful. I cant1t remember (long time viewer) but was ita blank canvas when you first started? Hope the build is progressing well Best wishes from Susan in East Yorkshire.
We had olive trees and the orange trees and the rest was brambles and grass 2 metres tall. Plus the forested area where we cleared paths. We planted everything else.
I know I said in the video about picking out the floor tiles I suggested going to the Stone Qurrey, I found the video that I was talking about, it was Make-Do-Grow, if you go to the community page you can see the video there, even if you don't want to go to the Qurrey or cannot afford it, I think that video is worth the watch!
AHHH mira no lo sabía ,yo la conozco por CUNFREY, mi abuelita ponía hojas de ella en alcohol..... para dolores de rodillas y piernas.... también eh visto la hoja poner de comprensas en la úlceras varicosas.... CUNFREY= CONSUELDA. Gracias !!!! excelente información...
Jeez Mairead ( sorry incorrect spelling of ur name) those biting roses are devil's...😂. Love your Irish sense of humour. Both of you do so much work..its fab. An Irish viewer.
Question...do ye find the garden hoe type implement is better than the shovel and pike? I cannot remember what the Portuguese name for it is. P.S...yer garden will be ready for your house when tihe build is done and ye move in. Imagine how stunning it will all look. Will be amazing. Be proud of all ye have done in bringing this place back to life. Its breathing again..ye have improved the soil as well. Congrats.
Watching you today reminded me of a riddle my son came home from school with, how do you eat an elephant ? One piece at a time. And he laughed and laughed .
As you drove along the highway the bush clad hills look just like here in the Coromandel peninsula NZ. Do you have issues with pests or animals that dig up or eat your plants? We have to be aware of possums, pheasants, rabbits and occasionally wild piglets too🙄 Love your garden- pick a job, don’t try and do it all at once and divide, transplant, etc. awesome 🙌
May I ask what was the strimmer string soaking in and why? Pity about the weather and slow progress on the flowers and veg.....I can sympathise with you.
Hej! En fråga från Sverige🇸🇪 Varför lägger du tråden i vatten? Underbar trädgård👍 Ska bli spännande att se hur ert nya hus kommer att bli Med vänlig hälsning från Sverige
Comfrey is a great nutrient accumulator with deep roots. The leaves are cut and left where they fall to provide food for other plants. It requires minimal water and is great ground cover plus it’s a wonderful pollinator attractor.
When plants are in pots they need to be watered regularly and we have plenty of space. Putting them in the ground keeps the roots cooler and everything grows better in the ground. If they are not in a good place, I can move them again and if they’re happy where they are I can always divide them later.
Come on, guys, let's get the videoing basics right, at least. Get your face in shot, Meraid!! I'm fed up of your boobs talking to me (although I'm female!) 😂❤ You should get yourselves on a basic course. I'm sure your viewing figures would improve. Love you guys. Just an idea!
