Another incredible live performance from the BUGERA booth at Summer NAMM 2015 features Eric Gales on guitars with special guest Victor Wooten on bass guitar. Recorded live on July 10th, 2015.
@Paul actually bass and guitar are nothing alike. They use a completely different theory altogether. Bass players play in modes. The only thing that is the same in theory is the key. Other than that the approach is much different. Bass players learn modes so they can complete the gaps in the guitars phrasing. Ur comment couldn’t be more ignorant. Good bass player actually tend to have much better ears and overall improv skills than good guitarist. The bass is a rhythmic instrument while the guitar is melodic and harmonic. I think u get the point by now.
@@evananglim3683 i know them but Eric gales is just from another planet....the perfect combination of shredding- speed- feeling -groove- tears(when he cries while playing)- amazing chords- and upsidedown and backwards guitar playing...
One day, Eric Gales & Derek Trucks are going to evolve beyond human musical expression and morph into pure energy, taking their guitars with them in the transition and becoming beautiful additions to the universe's vibrations and colors.
Victor has occasionally been criticized by some for overplaying but this shows him at his most musical. There’s much more to his playing than the pyrotechnics he’s known for. I’ve had the privilege of talking to him and he’s true gentleman, humble and musically generous.
Eric Gales has just shown us why he is indeed one of the hottest guitarists on the planet - I believe even Victor was impressed. That being said, Eric took all the space on this nights performance and basically disregarded Victors presence.
Love Victor Wooten, it’s like he’s every soloists dream- he will lay out a solid groove no matter who is playing- guitarist, sax, keys, vocals, name it- he will pave the way for you , fully customised on the spot- for you to solo all you like.
crazy thing about music...all the records and shows ive heard, I can say that erics solo at the end is one of the most musically soulful solos I've ever heard. it's like he's pulling straight from his heart. EVERYTHING makes sense. doesn't feel like a bunch of scale riffs. feels like his state of mind at the time and he has to tell u thru the notes. absolute fire.
This is what happens when the guitarist steals all the musical space, as good as he is he's not showing any awareness for Victor and it sounds terrible

You must be a bass player .... The thing that’s happening here is that victor can’t groove.... bass is not a solo instrument it’s a rhythm instrument and victor can’t stay in the pocket

I think the main reason lefties do that, is because most guitarist are right handed, so if they were just handed a guitar, strung lefty or righty it wouldn't matter to them
@@NoName-gr8px you are a total beginner man! that's a normal right handed guitar....but Eric gales plays it upsidedown and backwards, but he is not left handed he is right handed....so look at all those variables!
This sounds like its the first time these two jammed together Eric Gales sounds amazing. Its to bad Victor Wootens bass was not loud enough. But Victor was cool and took sort of a back seat after making that assessment and listened and followed.

Every time I listen to Eric play I get overcome with so much emotion that I think he is so at one emotionally with the instrument it just comes at me like lightning bolts! Thank you Eric.
I've never heard a guitarist even a little bit similar to Eric. His playing is awesome. I just can't see mysefl playing with him, I'd be constantly out of key and context.😅
Hey y'all, speaking of Maggot Brain here is Eric doing his rendition ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LkdDAt3hdP8.html hope you guys like it and have something to wipe them tears ✌🏼
ERIC Gales needs a major marketing machine behind him. He's got more soul in his playing than so many others. He needs the push of a major player who can set him up with a proper tour.

Victor Wooten @ 3:28-3:29 was CRAZY. Had no idea what notes I was hearing until I doubled and tripled back. Would’ve never expected a diminished climb right there. WOW.
Duncan Donuts as a dude he feels extremely deeply at times especially when I’m turned up and getting lost in the notes I approve this comment. Exactly. Everyone loves Victor as do I. I’m first a guitarist but I had never heard of Eric until this video and wow. There’s so much damn feel dude just fly bro fly. Let it out man. 🤘🏼🤤 this shit moved me. Trying to open up to blues more. Was always more a metal classical, jazz. As I’m getting more prog it’s really branching out and damn it feels good to fill my life with more melodies and styles. Cheers dude ! Spread positivity !
Fantastic. I just love to hear two people inspiring each other as they play, pushing boundaries, and setting new benchmarks for those that follow. What a stunning jam.
If you watch all the videos Eric is playing with another top level musician, he clearly takes up the majority of the time and overplays the other person
He might like to sit in the spotlight for, but even Wooten himself says that his job as a bass player is to make the WHOLE sound better, not to show off.
That literally made me sick to the stomach.. I Listed with head phones & I almost couldn't take it. That was absolutely disgusting.. I'm a big fan of Eric & Victor, highly inspired by both.
+MrVick85 HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAAHAHAHAHHHHAHAH No... Just no!
MrVick85 dude I so agree. I came to the page to hear the Bugera gear and could nearly not take it. Apart from sounding thin and and painful to the ears the playing itself was annoying. Love both players as I play both instruments to a good standard but this recording was plain terrible and the playing destroyed by amps that just made these guys sound bad.
@@conservativehippie13 Jimi use to take right handed guitars and flip them upside down and string them like a left handed guitar because lefty guitars were a bit more rare back in the day. Eric is literally playing it upside down, look at the strings.
Eric Gales is very schooled, not as raw as lot of other musicians but great. He sounds kinda excercise-y; that is why he has not got more attention IMO. Still he does break out some really creative harmony and has a voice of his own.
And he is right handed not left handed.... So he plays a left right handed guitar upsidedown and backwards while being right handed....look at all those variables.
Love the way how at various points they both kind of venture off on their own, but by the end they're both on the exact same page. Moments of mindless noodling and brilliance all rolled into one.
the music is good but I can't look at ppl like Eric Gales....all of these wanna be Hendrix ppl....there are left hand guitars!!!! stop with the Hendrix thing, no one cares, we can't see you any way!!! its music not TV.....Jesus....
