Wow, the best airport movements video I have watched in a long time. Never been to Jersey, but have actually flown on all those types except the Trislander. and actually on three of those individual aircraft, absolutely fabulous! Thank you.
Many thanks, lovely memories of my local airport. I miss so many of these things; British Midland were great for the Island, and that was my favorite colour scheme on my favorite plane of theirs, the Fokker 100s. The great days of our not-quite national carrier Jersey European. The sight and sound of the tri-islanders - I never liked travelling in them , but Jersey Airport just isn't the same without them! I certainly don't miss the ATP's - they were right old dogs, you always felt you were on an old plane which was trying to look modern, whereas the fokker friendships just did old in style. I miss hearing the screamy turbo-props.
Lovely collection of regionals. A lot of which remind me of Glasgow in the mid to late 90s. I love those British Midland Fokkers. They were a great airline.
Lovely footage. I used to visit Jersey every year up until the early 2000's. Always had a few hours on the viewing deck at the Airport as there were so many different types of aircraft that came in and out.
The Trislanders were awesome. Always sounded like a squadron of Lancasters. An interesting mixture of British Airways Landor, Word Tails and the looks-the-same-as-everything-else current livery as well.
I worked for British Midland for three summers on the weekends as a teenager, 1998-2000. This video brings back memories spent on those long hot summer days at the airport! We also used to service the Braathens and Lufthansa 737s amongst other airlines - I used to do baggage handling and also cleaning the cabins of the aircraft. My favourite must have been the British Midland Fokker 100 :) Great video, thank you for sharing!
Back in the days when British Airways actually served the entire country and not just Heathrow! The Dash 8's in BA livery of course actually being operated by Brymon Airways of Plymouth.
Flown extensively on inter-island hops - single pilot operated. An excellent aircraft, perfectly suited for the Channel Island area.Pilots flying those routes were doing high cycle rates - Jersey to Guernsey was approx 10- 15 minutes, typically at 1000 -2000 feet.
The BAE.ATP 0:38 was in my opinion not a very attractive aircraft. Weird up swept wings with wide spaced high slung engines. The wings look massive for the type of plane it is. Looks like they took a bunch of spare parts and made an aircraft.
